You nervously run your hand through your hair as you ride up the elevator to JB’s dorm.  For a while now there has been some flirting going on between you and JB and you’ve been dropping hints that you wanted to go out but the guy may be a charismatic leader but he was freaking dense. 

You made it obvious to him that you were interested, yet it took him months to finally confess to you that he liked you and it was all you could do not to smack him when he finally worked up the courage to say those words you’ve been waiting to hear for so long.

But you weren’t the type of girl to smack a guy you were crushing on, so instead you calmly told him yes, because you were classy like that. 

So after waiting for almost over a week for him to clear up time for your date, he finally called last night and said that he was going to take you out. 

He told you to anticipate it.

Not that you needed telling because you’ve been waiting for this moment for so long you were beginning to look at the boy like a starved animal. 

Speaking of starved animals, you took out your compact and checked your make up.  You don’t normally wear make-up but you wanted to look pretty for him.  He said he had a surprise for you and you were expecting to go somewhere nice and you didn’t want to be under dressed. 

You nervously look down at your cute dress as you wondered again if what you were wearing was good enough.  You didn’t want to embarrass him after all. 

You were wearing your cutest dress, your cutest shoes, and accessories. 

As soon as the elevator opened, you stepped out and walked toward his dorm.  You took in a nervous breath before you put a smile on your face and knocked. 

The door flung opened and JB stood there, flour in his hair, chocolate smeared in his cheek—God you hoped it was chocolate--, there were varieties of stains on his shirt and pants and he was gawking at you; looking you up and down appreciatively while you frowned at his appearance. 

“D-did you forget about our date?”  You asked and once he recovered from checking you out he looked down at his outfit and he blushed in embarrassment. 

“I-I wanted to cook you dinner,” he said with an embarrassed laugh.  “Uh, please come in.”

You slowly walked passed him, took off your shoes and put on one of the huge house slippers he offered you. 

He looked frazzled as he kept looking at you and then down at his outfit. 

“I-uh,” he said as the two of you continued standing by the door way.

“Something smell burnt,” you pointed out and he took off toward the kitchen and you followed him.

You came to a stop when you saw the mess in the kitchen.  He was currently pulling out a burnt something out of the oven, there were eggs, flours, sprinkles, chocolates, marshmallows, pans, and bowls everywhere.

You walked up to the first pan you saw and you smiled down at the heart-shaped cake.

“That one was the only one that came out good,” he explained proudly and you reached down and cut the cake to try a piece of it.

“Erm, JB, what kind of cake is this?”   You asked after you’ve taken a bite.

“It’s strawberry,” he said with a proud and goofy smile.
