that scattered, yet brilliant mind of yours,
and the gorgeous words you spoke that always seemed
to make their way to those silk white, unlined pages
that led me to discover
something wonderful.
That is, no matter what,
in my dreams...
you can be mine forever.
You won't disappear.
You won't leave me with those quiet words
whispered off your lovely lips.
You'll be with me
and just me.
Forever.
That is, until reality
calls for me again.
Foreword
"It's so beautiful here," she says,
"This moment now and this moment, now."
And I never thought I would find her here:
Flannel and satin, my four walls transformed.
But she's looking at me, straight to center,
No room at all for any other thought.
And I know I don't want this, oh, I swear I don't want this.
There's a reason not to want this but I forgot.
In the terminal she sleeps on my shoulder,
Hair falling forward, mouth all askew.
Fluorescent announcements beat their wings overhead:
"Passengers missing, we're looking for you."
And she dreams through the noise, her weight against me,
Face pressed into the corduroy grooves.
Maybe it means nothing, maybe it means nothing,
Maybe it means nothing, but I'm afraid to move.
And the words: they're everything and nothing.
I want to search for her in the offhand remarks.
Who are you, taking coffee, no sugar?
Who are you, echoing street signs?
Who are you, the stranger in the shell of a lover,
Dark curtains drawn by the passage of time?
Oh, words, like rain, how sweet the sound.
"Well anyway," she says, "I'll see you around..."
I don't know what sparked this idea, but I was listening to "Recessional" by Vienna Teng (for the millionth time, probably) one day...
Everyone has their own interpretations of songs they listen to, and the interpretations for this song were so completely different from one another (going off youtubers' comments)!
I read somewhere that the artist explained that it was a "reverse breakup song". So, I guess that means she's describing a breakup situation... But only backwards. Obviously. Ahaha. Anyway, I'm not sure if that's true. It was one of those youtube comments you read, and you're iffy about whether they're accurate or not.
Personally, though, I think it's about a young women struggling with her ual orientation and her mixed feelings for this girl she's referring to in the lyrics.
Ah~ The lyrics... They're so poetic haunting and just BEAUTIFUL. For some reason I had this idea for a fanfiction, and I really wanted to try writing shoujo ai/yuri (girls love) instead of shounen ai/ (boys love) for once.
My interpretation wasn't something that came out of the blue, either. I found that I could relate to it in a lot of ways. I do struggle with my feelings for girls sometimes, and I'm not sure if that's just a part of growing up and finding out who you are or maybe I really do like people of the same as myself--
Moving on... I put some of my own personal experience in this idea I have. The song is so descriptive that I'm literally going to follow what lyrics say... Kind of. I have some pretty interesting ideas. c:
And a little spin is that it will be from first person POV -- Eunjung to be exact. (I and me; character talks to self a lot)
Readers will not know Jiyeon feelings or thoughts at all. You'll be just as clueless as Eunjung.
Usually I write from the "god power" POV, but I'm going to try something new this time~
I actually prefer this POV, honestly. I find it easier to write.
Now, one more thing before I stop rambling. I like boy kpop groups better than girl kpop groups because I feel as if the girl groups sound the same after awhile-- With the exception of a few, of course.
Picking this shipping pair was a hard decision because of that. I know girl ships aren't as popular as boy ships (which is ridiculous), so I am kind of nervous. Thus, I finally decided to go with Eunjung and Jiyeon from T-ara. Yes, I love this group, and I like how these two look together and act toward one another.
No. I am not expecting a lot of views or subscribers, but the point is that I wanted to experiment a little and write something sad for once. Everyone needs that angst now and then, right?
Anyway. I stayed up all night, literally, working on this whole plot and pictures and stuff, so please enjoy it~
It's going to be written better than my other one-shots, that's for sure.
