"What?" I said in shock. "You guys are getting married!" My parents said. "And you didn't tell me?" I asked them in disbelief.

"Surprise?" They said together. I shook my head. "Can we talk for awhile? In private?" My mum said to Mr Kim's parents. They smiled and nodded. My parents dragged me into the kitchen.

As soon as we were far enough from the Kim family, my mum started to talk.
