     It’s freezing cold.

 

Breathe in, the blade-like chilled air cut his heart deep, wide open,

Breathe out, a silent gasp with severe agony killed him a little.

 

Misty streetlights seemed too dim to shine Jaejoong down the way home, he ended up in the middle of nowhere.

 

Pale leaves stiffened with frost lied among banks of snow along the sidewalk, thickets of lifeless thorn tangled into some tight knots - thoughts whirling, broken promises haunted his mind to no end.

 

Here came the day,  26.12.13 – the tenth anniversary for their debut, years since seperation , departure...he murmured, on his own.

 

Wandering outside the refurbished stadium, the precious,shiny place where five of them made their first showcase in, right before they got to learn the joy of, immersing into the applause of, thousands of fans screaming their names, loving them like no other did.

Everything seemed so bright back then, as they stood together and held each other by the hands, united as one.

“Happiness is multiplied by five, Sorrow is just 1/5", too clearly he could remember these words that were seared onto his skin, that would echo in his head relemtlessly. The words from his glorified king Yunho, the leader with sharp jawline, hooked nose, gleam yet innocent eyes he could never get over. 

 

It took the courage of Jaejoong’s whole life to make his way through the door to the once familiar place. Hidden memories, buried bittersweet were there to be dug out. Just one step closer would it be the world that was built of triumph, laughter, tears and rally.The past where only the five of them belonged to.

 

Stepping on the stage of the emptied, dark stadium, all Jae had got was dead silence. Tears dripped as his delicate eyelashes fluttered. Once agian, he embraced the flush of youth swaying his body throwing off perfect wave in the old carefree days. And youth would not be the same if his sun, his sin, Jung Yunho was not a part of it. How bad he missed singing along with Yunho’s husky harmony.

He only allowed himself to cry, to cast off his masquerade,

alone.

 

Lights, in all of a sudden, went all over the huge screen behind him, melody that have long been forgotten flooded into Jae’s ear. Faces that ached him through the departure came into his sight and once again tugged his heartstrings. He was left speechless in the daze.

 

“Alone, at the end of the world; my heart,

 You were left, you were alone; don’t be afraid,

 For a very long time; let you know my love,

 I’ll keep this; you know

 Love secure; let you know my love

 

Like the stars which don’t leave the darkened sky,

 Being together forever by the faith of love,

Jae was fascinated by the magical scene, the beautiful moment he could never travel back to, the time they made it to the Golden Disk Award and MFMK, the time when Yunho , Changmin , Junsu , Yoochun meaning a world to him, the time when he would lift all his strength to Yunho, and let him wipe his tears away.

 

 

All that was far too precious.

 

Applause then woke him from his dream, the four members, in a standing ovation, at the auditorium, stared straight at him , as the music faded out.a

 

 

Unspoken words were delivered through smiles Jae longed for, unreal feelings that the crack divided five of them vanished struck him hard. Broken hearts were at once mended , reaching the warmth of

Each hug they gave.

 

“Jae-ah, Happy 10th Anniversary.”

The man whispered with giggle,

Holding his beloved boy in his arm as if he's not letting go of him ever after,

Jae had never felt this full and complete before.

 

Breathe in, the air tasted fresh yet sweet , healing.

Breathe out, loneliness was all driven away.
