Demons.
Not the kind you often see on comical illustrations, not those ones with big horns, scorching flames, and red skin. Oh no, these are far more horrible creatures, for they devour the very fabric of space, and leave behind a trail of... simply nothingness.
Humanity has tried to exterminate these evil creatures for millennia, but they’ve only tried. So far, no progress has been made, and the Tree of Life is on the very brink of withering. Humanity can only pray in deafening silence as the Guardians, an army of so-called demon hunters, step up and lead the fight against the Demons.
Again and again the Guardian fought, but again and again the demons won. For a few years, it seemed as if all hope was lost, and humanity was going to fall into extinction.
Until they found him.
Their precious Mystic, the one with the fearsome power of manipulation. Minds are his to control, and objects are his to command. With one thought, he can tamper with the emotions of the living, and with one speculation, he can turn a conversation into a fierce argument.
Just when the Elders thought they’ve finally found the one thing to end this war, something goes wrong.
Like it always does.
Foreword
A/N: Are you expecting some kind of prologue right here where my A/N is?
Well, I'm sorry to disappoint.
I'm just the type of person who cannot write the prologue in the Foreword...it just doesn't come to me.
This story will possibly be a fairly long one, filled with romance, angst, superpowers, fantasy, plot twists...stuff like that. I do hope it satisfies you, if not, you can always send me a message and we'll see if I can do something about that. (I feel like I'm abusing my powers as a writer.)
This may sound stupid, but I have no idea where to put this story under...supernatural or fantasy...? As it is now, I only have space for either one of these tags...This is killing me.
On that extremely happy note, I hope that you like this story, and really, I'm not one to say: "You guys must give me __ comments or else I won't update." That kind of stuff really turns me off. I'm here to write, so I don't really mind if you leave a comment or not. (Although it would be nice if you did.)
You might be imagining me with a dead-pan face right about now, but believe me, I'm slightly smiling.
