WooYeol
~Random Christmas Drabbles~
Woohyun entered the house and immediately smelled smoke and heard the distant swearing of his boyfriend. He approached the kitchen filled with trepidation, he tried to guard the kitchen as much as possible from Sungyeol’s clumsiness but it seemed that this time he had been too late.
Standing in the doorway his mouth dropped as he surveyed the damage. Flour coated every surface, a couple of eggs were broken on the floor and a suspicious black substance was stuck to the walls and several of the white doors of the cabinets.
Sungyeol was standing in the midst of all the mess with a sheepish grin on his face.
“Surprise.”
Woohyun swallowed any anger and looked at the other man in exasperation and amusement. “What were you trying to do?”
“It was supposed to be a surprise…”
“I’m surprised,” Woohyun laughed at the face that was pulled in his direction.
“I was making mince pies and Christmas cake. I don’t think I should have tried cooking both things at the same time.” Sungyeol sighed as he looked around. Woohyun started to pick his way across the kitchen to his flour covered lover.
“Maybe you should just never try and cook anything. I think a brilliant present would be you promising never to touch my kitchen.”
Another glare was thrown in his direction and he avoided a half-hearted punch.
“I’m so happy you tried to bake me a present,” Woohyun tried a different tack. “But I don’t really think trying to bake something for a professional chef is the best idea. How about you play to one of your strengths?”
“Are you humouring me?”
“Me! Humouring my moody, childish boyfriend! Never!” Woohyun vowed, laughing as he ducked behind the island when Sungyeol threw some flour at him.
“You’re one to call me moody!”
“Did I forget to mention he’s also the most beautiful and kind hearted person I’ve ever met and I’m lucky that I managed to trick him into falling in love with me?”
“That’s more like it,” Sungyeol grumbled as he tried to hide his pleased smile. Woohyun grinned widely as he approached the younger man and pulled him into a hug.
“Love you Yeollie. Thank you for attempting to make me a cake.”
“And mince pies.”
“And mince pies.”
Sungyeol huffed as he tried to remain annoyed but couldn’t in the way of his boyfriend’s greasy smile.
“Love you too.”
