When you can have more, why were you defying?

When you can have another, why were you avoiding?

When you can have two, why were you sticking with one?

Many people said that two is better than one; maybe, two means double the fun, double the thrill and also double the troubles.

But like how the old folks always said, may the better man win. 

The determined fighter entitled to win and the generous fighter deserved to win... in the end it only has one winner and one loser.

Time will decided; loyalty will be questioned, friendship will be tested, love will be conquered, trust will be betrayed and heart will be shattered…

Prologue

I could see it with my eyes, they were coming for us—me. No matter how hard I tried to hide and run the hell out of the problematic life, I just can’t. This is my life, the one that God let me have it, the one that God gave me. I tried so hard to make my life as ordinary as others but I just simply can’t. It is inside my own blood, my own flesh and my name written after its legacy. The clan. That’s what people thinks of us, my life.

When people spent their childhood times playing with blocks, building sand castle on the sand box, tucked under the comfortable quilt, sneaking the snacks inside the chest, learning how to bike and every wonderful things I couldn’t describe, where the life seems like sundae ice cream with cherry on tops, rainbows, sparkles and unicorns, wishing for a happily ever after, graduated, married and have a child, my life, I have to remember and choked down my own pity over their innocent thoughts. Life isn’t always about happily ever after; life isn’t always about rainbows and unicorns.

Surrounded by the stingy and greedy people where worshiping the family’s legacy, I learned that life isn’t always the way we wished for. Life is harsh, cruel, and cold and no joke; that’s the life I living in for God only knew until when because we’re all know, the only thing you could escape is with kissing the death.

And I was thinking maybe kissing the death would set me free, I always thought it would be the better idea and the perfect escape until I met her, my life started getting more ruckus and I was like walking around the same circles over and over again. She made me wants to screams, shouts even rips my own hearts. She made me feel like I was the same as the others ordinary human being while we’re all know that I wasn’t. She made me wants to have those happily ever after ends with marriage, kids and grown old together.

But she also made me feel so worthless. She made me questioned my loyalty, tested my friendship, conquered my love, betrayed my trust and shattered my heart. With her tucked safely around my arms, I have no desire to kissing the death anytime soon when I know very well it is tailing after me—us—for the rest of my life.

And once again, may the better man win because in the end it only has one winner and one loser. And now I know which one is me.
