The Wedding Project
Description
Kwon Jieun had it all laid out. She, being the older sister, was going to get married first on some May 3rd at the Busan Boathouse, when and where her parents had married years prior. She was going to wear her mother’s wedding dress, place her grandfather’s wedding band on her groom and receive her grandmother’s wedding ring on her left hand.
This was her dream in which she had always discussed with her little sister. What she didn’t expect was that her little sister, who had always outshined her but never had aspirations in getting married, would one day live this dream first.
After years of passive aggression, Jieun is ready to take back what is rightfully hers. Thus, the Wedding Project is developed—an operation to steal her sister’s wedding.

Foreword
At nine years old, Jieun smiled as she watched her father scoop her seven-year-old little sister, Kieun, up into his arms and peck her on the cheek. The younger girl squeezed her eyes shut, making a sour face as it happened but smiled brightly as he pulled away.
“Your mustache tickles, Appa,” she giggled, touching the man’s mustache with her index finger.
Their mother smiled with happiness and pulled Jieun to her side. “Yeobo, our daughters are so lovely,” she said blissfully, her beautiful hair falling over her shoulders.
“What are we going to do when they get married?”
Marriage. It was something Jieun had always fantasized about. She dreamed of the perfect Prince Charming like in the Disney Princess movies and a beautiful wedding. Of course, she had her wedding all mapped out.
“I will never get married,” Kieun said confidently. “Even when the suitors come ask for my hand, I will say that I want to live forever with Appa and Umma.”
That was Kieun, who had multiple boyfriends but never gave marriage a second thought.
“Oh? Is that so?” their father laughed, switching the younger girl from one arm to the other. “And what about our Jieun?” he asked as he reached over to ruffle her hair.
Jieun bit her lip shyly as their mother laughed melodically. “Our Jieun has already planned her wedding.”
It wasn’t a secret. She was Jieun, who desired to marry on a May 3rd, the day her parents married in 1986, at the Busan Boathouse, where her parents had gotten married, wearing her mother’s wedding dress and bearing her grandmother’s wedding ring. She was Jieun, who seldom dated and dreamed of marriage.
So why didn’t things work out the way they were supposed to?
