LIKE THE REFLECTION IN THE MIRROR.
He never felt butterflies flying around inside his stomach before. He never felt his heart hammering against his chest it might explode until he met her. Lee Chanhee never questioned God as to why he was born short. The guy never felt more embarrassed in life than he was now, for stuttering in between his words, for spilling hot drink all over his hand, for shrilling in pain, for becoming a blushing mess. Everything, all the unfortunate (or maybe fortunate) first times in his life, happened one after another because of the lady with blond hair.

The guy was laughing like a lunatic at his fellow worker’s antics just a few seconds before the bell above the glass door to the café he worked at chimed and in walked a lady with a lean figure, perfect curved line, dressed in a three layers sleeveless shirts, grey being the first layer of her shirt, black and white striped in between and black long sleeveless shirt at the most front. White skinny jeans wrapped her long legs, complementing her tall model-like figure. His laughter died down in an instant and the world around him suddenly seemed to move in a slow motion. A goddess, the guy declared in his head.

The moment words escaped her pretty lips; the guy was awestricken that his lips unconsciously parted in slight motion. Her voice was as soft as cotton and it was pretty as the roses as ridiculous as it sound. How can someone be this perfect? He wondered.

“Excuse me,“ the lady stopped briefly, narrowing her eyes slightly at the small object above the guy’s chest then spoke again, “Chanhee-sshi.” At the mention of his name, the guy slipped out of his reverie and he looked at the lady with a shocked expression painted on his face, eyes grew bigger as the second passed.

“How did you know my name?” he asked in his state of shock.

The lady with the blond hair let out a hearty laugh. The beautiful sound of her laughter rang in Chanhee’s ears and he found it to be the melodious melody he had ever heard in his entire life. “Your nametag,” the lady responded with an amused smile, pointing her beautiful forefinger to the guy’s black nametag, on it was his name printed in white.

Chanhee never felt more foolish in his life than he was now. “O-oh,” he managed to utter with a bashful scratched at the back of his head.

The lady let out a laugh yet again and the guy swore he could die with a joyful smile on his face right then and there, before she spoke again, “Can I take my order now?” The beautiful smile never left the lady’s face and Chanhee most definitely didn’t mind that.

“Y-yeah, sure.” Chanhee was never the one to feel helpless but he was now. He couldn’t even look at the lady’s face without his cheeks flushing, let alone looking straight to her eyes, thus looking down at the cash register was his only option, as coward as it sound.

“One hot green tea, take away, please.” When the lady handed him the amount for her drink, their hands brushed and that slightest bit of contact sent shiver down the guy’s spine. Chanhee felt as if his insides were electrocuted.

Chanhee glided around the counter in the speed of light. His movement was faster than that of flash. His hands trembled, heart still racing, preparing the ordered beverage in a matter of seconds, but when he was only a second away to give the hot green tea to the goddess across the counter, it fell, hot liquids spilling all over, burning his hand and his ear-splitting scream inevitably escaped his lips.

That, that was the very moment he wanted to dig a hole of shame and bury himself in the deepest far down the surface of earth and not coming back. All eyes on him but that were not the biggest issue. He couldn’t care less about the strange idea the others had of him, but this one person, the lady with blond hair, she was the last person he would want to show this moment to but she was also happened to be the first person to witness this embarrassing, most embarrassing moment one could say of his life.

“Are you okay?” the lady asked, her voice was laced with that of concern and worry. In a swift, she took out a sunflower printed handkerchief from her sling bag followed by her bottle of water; twist opened the stopper then moistened her handkerchief. The goddess then pulled the guy’s hand that was slowly turning a deep shade of red and pressed the piece of cloth against it, it ever so softly.

Chanhee’s cheeks burned the same shade of red of his injured hand at the sudden contact and it was not just a slight brushed of hands but the goddess was holding his hand, Lee Chanhee’s freaking hand.

“You should have been more careful,” the lady voiced out, or more like giving the guy a piece of her mind. She glanced at him briefly, meeting each other’s eyes and Chanhee momentarily lost in those twinkling dark orbs but looked away the second he realized that his cheeks started to feel warm again. The lady then took out a small rectangular object from her bag and for a second Chanhee wondered what else could be there inside the lady’s bag, as it seemed like one could find just anything inside the said bag. The mysterious object turned out to be a red-coloured band-aid with a baby panda print. “Here,” the lady offered, giving the band-aid to the guy behind the counter.

Chanhee looked at the band-aid in question in a brief second then looked up at the lady with a puzzled look. What is a band-aid has to do with burned hand? The question swirled in his mind; a big imaginary question mark appeared above his head. It obviously could not be used.

The lady seemed to be aware of what the guy was thinking so she flashed a smile, a smile that Chanhee thought was brighter than the sun and more beautiful than the shining star in the night sky, before she spoke, “Just a reminder for you to not get hurt again, Lee Chanhee.” Ending her words with a light smile, the lady turned around and walked out of the café, leaving the guy standing and looking like a fool.

Lee Chanhee, Lee Chanhee, Lee Chanhee, her voice still rang in his head like some sort of incantation, like a chant or a melody or whatever one could call it as. The way she pronounced his name, the rise and fall of her voice. He was beyond happy. He was ecstatic and Chanhee would treasure her voice in his heart for a lifetime.

She must be an angel in disguise, the guy’s inner voice stated albeit the mess inside his head. He still couldn’t comprehend of what had just happened to him moments ago. A lady walked in, a smile, ordered a drink, he made a drink, drink fell, hand burned. “Burned!” he cried out suddenly, only then realizing that he had burned his hand. Although the stinging pain had lessened thanks to the lady, it still hurt. The guy then took a first-aid kit and bandaged his hand, but the idiotic smile on his face couldn’t disappear as he looked at the panda band-aid that lied on the counter.

In love, the guy declared silently, I am in love. Love at first sight, he never believed that statement, that four words, that was until he met the goddess.

Lee Chanhee learnt to never expect something for he would only receive pain in return, so when the lady with blond hair, the goddess, walked in to the café the following morning, the same smile playing around her lips as she looked at him, Chanhee was dumbstruck.

“Is your hand alright?” the lady asked, eyes briefly looking at the bandaged hand as the words escaped her lips before she looked up again with a smile on her face.

Chanhee was still in his state of ecstasy, swarmed in joy and happiness of being able to see the goddess again that every sound was zoned out of his auditory perception. “A-ah what did you say just now?” he finally asked when he came back to his senses, suddenly feeling like a fool, a fool in love.

“I was asking if your hand is alright?” the lady repeated.  How she still managed to keep her smile in spite of the fact that the guy was constantly in a daze was still a question that was yet to be answered.

“Oh,” he said more to himself then offered the lady a reassuring smile. “Yeah, it’s fine.”

A light sigh of relief escaped her lips instantly at the reassuring words, “Good to hear that.” The lady then tilted her head and with a teasing smile she said, “But are you sure you can make a drink with that hand? You’ll probably spill my drink again.”

At her playful remark, Chanhee blushed a crimson red. “Yes, ofcourse! That was only a once in a lifetime mistake,” he retorted a little too quickly before he let out an awkward laugh. I hope so!

“Okay, if you say so.” She shrugged with a grin before asking, “So can I take my order now, mister Lee Chanhee?”

Again. She called his name again. He couldn’t help but wondered how can his name just rolled out of her tongue so easily? His heart palpitated inside his chest and he wondered again until when will his heart be able to take this?

“Lee Chanhee is at your service,” the guy bowed with one of his hand on the back and the other on the front, imitating those princes in fairytale stories. His comical action earning a chuckle from the lady.

“One mocha frappuccino blended with whipped cream, please!” the lady ordered with a cheeky grin and Chanhee thought she couldn’t be any cuter than she already was.

“One mocha frappuccino blended with whipped cream, noted. It’ll be ready in a minute,” Chanhee said as his finger pushed down on the many buttons on the cash register then glided his way like what he did the previous day, and the lady settled herself on a table located at one corner of the warm and cozy café.

“Here’s your mocha frappuccino,” the lady heard his voice so she turned her head from looking outside the window, but a raised eyebrow followed after at the sight of another drink placed on the table.

“That’s for yesterday. You didn’t get to drink your hot green tea yesterday because of me,” Chanhee explained, guilt was evident in his face.

“What—you don’t have to. It’s okay,” she reassured the guy with a dismissive wave but Chanhee was too stubborn to listen.

“No, I insist!” The guy smiled before turning around, not wanting the lady to utter any more words of rejection but his movement was stopped by the next words that escaped the lady’s lips.

“Atleast keep this lonely lady a company.” He could sense the playful tone in her voice very clearly but he turned around anyway but not before making sure that his fellow worker was around the counter and walked towards the table.

“Oh? I didn’t know a beautiful lady like you would even know the word lonely,” Chanhee teased, earning a playful glare from the said lady. He then pulled the wooden chair out and sat himself across the still nameless lady.

“Already turning to a cheese ball, are we?” Her eyebrow rose playfully as she spoke.

His stomach suddenly made a low rumbling sound at the mention of metaphorical food. “Now you’re making me hungry,” Chanhee said almost inaudible, jutting out his lower lip into a pout unconsciously.

“Your fault, not mine.” The lady shrugged her shoulder then scooped a little of the whipped cream that was sprayed in a spiral pattern on her mocha frappuccino and swallowed it.

An idea suddenly sprang into Chanhee’s mind. A sly smile playing around his lips before it disappeared as he cleared his throat and straightened himself. “Okay, to make up for your mistake—“ he started. A ‘what?’ from the lady stopped his words but he continued again nonetheless. “A name would be good.”

“And why would I give you my name?” the lady questioned instead, not giving in so easily. A playful grin playing around her lips as she spoke.

Chanhee’s eyebrows knitted together, his arms crossed over his chest as he huffed, “Hey! That’s unfair! You already know my name so why can’t I know yours?”

“It’s on your nametag and the purpose of a nametag is for people to see,” the lady explained, pointing her finger at the said item with a shrug.

Chanhee’s expression turned into that of scowl. “Okay fine, miss genius. Don’t tell me your name. Let me just call you the nameless lady.” And here I thought you are nice, he complained in his head, or so he thought because the lady seemed to hear his words.

“What did you say?” She asked and Chanhee’s eyes widened but he kept quiet so the lady just shrugged it off, thinking that she was maybe just hearing things, before she continued,And that is not…a nice name to give to someone.”

Chanhee just shrugged his shoulders still with an angry expression on his face. His eyes were anywhere but the lady in front of him. He didn’t know why he was being childish. He just thought it was unfair.

Deciding that it was enough teasing for the fuming guy, the lady flashed her signature smile before she introduced herself, “Jinah. My name is Im Jinah.”

At the mention of her name, his lips quirked up into a smile, emotions overflowing from happiness. “Im-Jin-ah,” Chanhee pronounced every syllable of the lady’s name in a voice barely above a whisper, and it rolled out of his tongue in a manner that could not be better. He looked to the lady then stretched out his hand towards her, “Nice to meet you, Im Jinah.”

Jinah gladly took the guy’s hand and shook it before she said, “Nice to meet you too, Lee Chanhee.”

They talked for a little longer and Chanhee found out that his new friend slash crush turned out to be two years older than he was. He had his mouth wide opened, gaping at the newly found information and when it finally sank down on him, his heart shattered into pieces and all hope and dream crushed into nothingness because he was more than certain that he would not stand a chance to be with the goddess. He knew fate loved to play with people’s feelings but he never knew that fate would be this cruel.

“I knew it!” Jinah exclaimed, snapping her fingers to punctuate her words. “I knew you look too young to be older than me.”

“Well, you could have guessed wrong because I could have been older than you but you know I got this cute baby face--” he couldn’t even finish his words as a tissue was thrown towards his direction, straight to his ‘cute baby face’.

From that day on, Jinah would stop by the café when she was sure Chanhee would be there since the younger one still has to go to school, and sometimes she would come and waited for the guy to arrive and start his shift. And since that day too, Jinah had been urging the guy to call her ‘noona’ but Chanhee was just as persistent as she was to call her ‘Jinnie’; a name he had given her after a month of knowing each other.

Jinah had threatened the guy during one of their hangout days with “I swear, if you call me by Jinnie again, I’ll stab you with this fork right here and I don’t care.” But at the end of the day, she just let out a sigh of defeat as Chanhee replied her with “No, you’ll not because I’m too precious to be stabbed by that harmful thing.”

“God! You’re impossible!” Jinah groaned, stabbing the poor innocent chocolate cake instead.

“I know and I love you too.” And although his words came out playful and he added a wink of mischief to make it sound like he was being playful, he actually meant the three endearing words that one could utter, which came straight from his heart. If only you knew, his heart cracked a little.

“Hey, Jinnie,” Chanhee called suddenly. They were inside the café where he worked at, sitting comfortably in the same spot like the past months that they had hung out with each other, waiting for Chanhee’s shift to start as his class for today was cancelled. His words earning a glare from the said person and he quickly added with a rolled of his eyes, “Noo-na.” He made sure to pronounce the word slowly and loudly, and with that Jinah’s stern expression was replaced by that of a lovely one in a matter of second and Chanhee couldn’t help but rolled his eyes again before he continued, “What do you think of me? As a guy.”

Jinah’s fork stopped mid way, settling in between the half-cut crusts of the blueberry cheesecake and she looked up at the rather odd question. “What’s with the sudden question?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Just answer me!”  The words escaped his lips in a long high-pitched complain and Chanhee regretted the second they came out. Now she’ll think of me as a kid, he inwardly sighed.

“Let me think for a second,” Jinah said after putting down her fork. She then squinted her eyes a little, tapping her chin with her forefinger as if she was putting on a thinking cap but Chanhee knew her too well to know that she was just trying to piss him off.

“Well, the clock is ticking,” Chanhee vocalized, drumming his forefingers on the table impatiently.

“Patience, honey bear,” Jinah said with a flat tone and Chanhee felt even more miserable than he already was every time Jinah decided to call him like that. The lady then propped her chin in the palm of her right hand and let her gaze fall into Chanhee’s, a little too long for the guy’s liking because he suddenly felt his palms damp at the beautiful eyes that was looking straight into his. “Well, you’re not bad for a guy to be honest.”

Chanhee couldn’t stop the smile from spreading across his face at the lady’s words. “And?” he urged, looking at Jinah with expectant eyes, heart thumping as the second passed by.

“There’s no and,” Jinah replied, her two hands shot up, virtually forming quotation marks at the last word with her fingers in emphatic manner.

Chanhee let out a dissatisfied groan; his back slumped against the head of the chair as he spoke, again in a whiny voice, “What? That’s it?”

“Yeah. Why are you asking this out of the blue anyway?” Jinah asked and not a second after that the lady narrowed her eyes as she suddenly made a guess, a sly smile appeared. “Don’t tell me you like someone?”

At that, Chanhee’s whole being visibly stiffened, frozen on the spot as his blood shot up and his cheeks reddened. He wasn’t supposed to react like the way he did but unfortunately he did. He was supposed to play it cool but his cheeks just decided to blush and he could clearly hear the sound of his heart beat resonated in his ears amidst the noises inside the café.

Looking at the nervous mess that was sitting across from her, Jinah let out a dramatic sound of gasp at the realization. “So it’s true! Oh god! Channie is in love!” That nickname that she gave him, which he came to love more than anything else. It sounded lovely in his ears every time the lady called him by that name.

You’ll be reacting differently if I tell you the truth, Chanhee commented in his head. “Don’t have to make a big deal out of it,” he voiced out with a dejected feeling because he knew for sure that Jinah would not be happy to know whom he had fallen in love with. Their friendship might also be on strain if the truth came out and they might not able to talk like normal friends anymore or worse not able to talk to each other at all and Chanhee definitely wouldn’t want that to happen.

“Who is the lucky girl or should I say the unlucky girl?” Jinah asked the question that he dreaded to answer, pressing the second last word teasingly just to annoy the hell out of the guy. But Chanhee was too busy thinking, the inside of his head probably resembled a shipwreck, to even think of a comeback or even shot a glare. What should he say? Should he lie? Should he just tell the truth?

Letting out a quiet sigh, Chanhee decided to just settle with a mere shrug as if it wasn’t a big deal because he didn’t want to lie and telling the truth would only cause unnecessary fight. Jinah didn’t seem to read the situation though but she didn’t press on that more. However she didn’t stop there.

Another question was directed towards the guy, “Since when did you like this girl?”

“Six months.” That, he decided to tell the truth. Jinah wouldn’t know anyway. However he was wrong, completely wrong.

“Six months? Isn’t that around the time we got to know each other?” She said and the spoken words were more of a statement than a question, judging from the way she uttered the word confidently. She calculates it? It was fortunate that he didn’t voice his thought out loud this time. Chanhee really didn’t expect such thing coming out of the lady’s mouth. Hell he didn’t even expect her to remember the number of months they had spent together but she remembered. She calculated it.

“Oh? It’s been six months? I didn’t realize that.” Chanhee tried to act nonchalant, disinterested, as if he did not just hear something astonishing to his ears but failed as a wide smile spread its way across his face without him realizing.

“Why are you smiling like an idiot?” Jinah asked, raising her eyebrow as she tilted her head and gave the guy a weird look.

“What? I did not,” Chanhee quickly retorted, his hand shot up to cover his smile.

“So who’s this girl?” Jinah asked again, maybe out of curiousity or just to irk the guy, Chanhee didn’t know. Why would she want to know anyway?

Chanhee wanted badly to avoid answering the question as if it was some sort of a poison to the guy. He could have just told a lie. He could have but he chose not to. Chanhee didn’t want to lie to the person he loved, so he chose to answer the lady with a question instead, “Do you have someone you like?” He readied his heart for whatever that will come next.

Jinah rolled her eyes in irritation before she responded, “Don’t answer my question with another question, Channie.”

“Don’t answer with answer that I don’t like,” Chanhee counterattacked, feeling proud to himself for his fast comeback as if he had accomplished something big.

Jinah however didn’t admit defeat so easily either. She urged the guy with a glare that could probably bore a hole on Chanhee’s face, “Answer my question first.”

“Not after you answer mine,” Chanhee replied casually, snatching Jinah’s cake not so secretly and swallowed the food down his throat, his Adam’s apple bobbed in the process.

One thing that Chanhee liked or maybe loved the most about the lady was that although Jinah was a little older than the guy, she could turn to a ten-year-old girl if she wanted to. “But I asked you first!” she whined, hitting the table with her cake fork.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” Chanhee replied with the same manner, watching the lady that was sitting across from him in amusement as the said lady puffed out her cheeks.

“I don’t want to talk about it too.” Silence followed after. They sat in silence; only the clinking sound of fork could be heard as Jinah cut her cake into small pieces. Few minutes passed and both finally looked up and called each other’s names simultaneously resulting laughter to echo inside the café.

“Channie, you know—“ Jinah’s words were cut short by the sound of someone calling the guy’s name. The lady let out an inaudible sigh.

Chanhee turned towards the voice and stood up when he realized that his shift had started. “Later, Jinnie.” He flashed the sweet smile that Jinah had come to love so much before leaving the lady alone to start his shift.

“Idiot,” Jinah mumbled towards the retreating figure but her lips curled up into a smile, which was reserved only and only for that certain someone.

If one would ask Jinah of what she loved about the guy named Lee Chanhee, she would most definitely give a paper instead. A paper with a list of the things, every little thing, just every thing that she loved about him and the list would go on without an ending. And the words written on the very top of the paper would most definitely be how idiot the guy is, for several reasons that if Jinah had to jot them down the first point would certainly be ‘Lee Chanhee is idiot because he can’t hide his feelings well enough’ followed by ‘Lee Chanhee is idiot because he never catch my hints’ and the most important point out of all would be, with a gigantic capital letters, ‘LEE CHANHEE IS IDIOT BECAUSE HE CAN’T SEE THAT I LOVE HIM!’ not forgetting the exclamation mark at the end of the sentence because that was just how stupid Chanhee was, but Jinah loved him too much to hate this stupidity of his.

Chanhee never noticed the way Jinah’s face light up because she could finally see him. He never noticed the way Jinah blabbered things just to calm her nerve, the pain in her eyes, whenever he accidentally hurt himself. The guy never noticed the way Jinah would look at him with those twinkling eyes, in hope that he would be brave enough to confess his feeling. Chanhee never noticed the reason Jinah acted like a ten-year-old kid was just to make him laugh because she knew exactly that the guy loved it when she was being like that. The guy never noticed the way Jinah’s face would turn a little sullen whenever he had to work. Chanhee never knew the reason Jinah came to the café in the first place was to actually meet him because she had loved him ever since that fateful day. Lee Chanhee never noticed everything because he was too busy agonizing the things that he should have voice out a long time ago.

A bump on the shoulder was how it started.

Wandering around the town aimlessly, Jinah let her gaze followed the beautiful scenery of the small town. The lady just moved to the said town on the previous day, renting an apartment for the next few years of her stay in that town. She had few days for herself to roam around and getting used to the new environment before she had to swim in the ocean of books, reports and assignments.

Her eyes were fixated on the park just across from where she was standing, not noticing that a guy was running towards her direction from the opposite side and as cliché as it might sound, the guy was a second too late to cease to a stop and inevitably collided with the lady with blond hair. He didn’t see her face for he was too busy running again after a haste “Sorry!” but Jinah could clearly see his face, and his features was planted inside Jinah’s brain ever since. Short jet-black hair; fair skin, small face, and big stunning eyes. She also clearly remembered that the guy had muscular arms. She would be lying if she said she didn’t feel anything at the contact although it was only for a brief second because she was certain that she felt electricity ran through her body.

So when another month passed and a text was sent telling the lady to meet someplace else, Chanhee finally found his courage to confess where he had his head bent down, expecting to be rejected and the lady would leave him in agony and they would never meet again but that hurtful words never came, instead he was welcomed by a warm embrace, knocking him into a dazed. It was only when Jinah uttered, “Took you so long.” that he came back to his senses and pulled away from the warmth of now his girlfriend and with a questioning look on his face he asked, “What do you mean?”

Jinah let out the melodious sound of her laugh at her (finally) boyfriend’s rather adorable lost look, “I didn’t know you’d be this slow.”

Chanhee’s eyebrow rose, clearly not understanding what his girlfriend’s words meant. “Huh?”

“I waited for seven months for this, you idiot!”  Jinah chided, hitting Chanhee’s chest as her bottled-up frustration had finally spilled out.

“What?” Forehead formed creases in confusion as he asked.

Jinah groaned in frustration at her boyfriend’s obtusity so she just waved her hand dismissively, “No, nevermind.”

“No, no, no,” the guy held Jinah’s arm to get her full attention. “What do you mean you waited for seven months? You’ve like me since we met?” he asked, eyebrows rising as he widened his eyes.

“Since we first met,” Jinah pressed on the second last word of her sentence to correct her boyfriend. “Well not exactly met, we bumped into each other that time.”

“Bumped into each other…” Chanhee’s words trailed away as a certain memory appeared inside his head. His eyes grew their size at the realization and he received a flick on the forehead in return. “What was that for?” he cried out in pain, rubbing the red spot as he whined.

“That’s for only remembering it now, you insensitive guy!” A light punch was thrown towards the guy’s chest.

“Really now? God! Why do I even like you? So violent,” his lower lip protruded in a dissatisfied pout.

“What?” Jinah glared her way towards the guy upon hearing the last two words that escaped his lips but Chanhee didn’t stop.

“Vicious,” he continued.

“Ferocious.”

“Cruel.”

“Fierce.”

“Scar—“ he was so close to recite another adjective but Jinah slammed her palm straight to Chanhee’s lips, effectively silencing him.

“Ya! You being my boyfriend still don’t change the fact that I’m older than you, Lee Chanhee!” Jinah argued with stern expression surrounding her beautiful face.

Chanhee then pulled her hand away from his mouth. “I don’t care. I’m still not going to call you noona, Jinnie~” the rhythm of his voice rose and fell as he called his girlfriend’s name. He stole a light kiss on the lady’s cheek, leaving the lady with opened then stuck his tongue out in between his lips as he ran.

“Ya! Come back here! Lee Chanhee!” Jinah yelled to the guy standing few distances away from where she was sitting. Luckily the park was empty with only them being the occupants.

After a few chase and run, they finally sat themselves on the grassy ground; only the sound of their heavy breathings could be heard. Jinah’s head was leant on the guy’s broad shoulder and Chanhee’s was leant against the lady’s head. The lady played with the slender fingers of her boyfriend.

They sat in silence, gazes fixated on the starry sky. Full moon blooming, lighting up the night sky. Jinah’s lips curled up at the beautiful sight before her eyes.

“Jinnie,” Chanhee’s voice sounded suddenly, calling the lady’s name ever so softly. He intertwined their fingers together and they fit perfectly like pieces of puzzle being put together.

Jinah just hummed in response. Her eyes still fixated to the beautiful sight.

“This is not a dream right?” His voice was distant as if the guy was thinking at the same time the question rolled out of his mouth.

Upon hearing Chanhee’s question, Jinah snapped her head towards the guy. “What?” Laughter followed as she couldn’t help but find her boyfriend’s sudden question ridiculous and at the same time hilarious. “Why are you asking such question? Ofcourse this is not a dream, Channie.”

Chanhee then turned his head to look at the lady with blond hair beside him, the goddess, the angel in disguise, his first love, his last love, his girlfriend, and his lips twisted into a smile at the sight before his eyes. “Maybe because I thought being with you were impossible.” And he wondered how great it will be if time stops right now.

Chanhee’s smile was contagious, spreading itself and affected the lady resulting a smile to slowly spread its way around Jinah’s lips. “Well, the impossible had turned to possible now, right?”

Every day Chanhee woke up to the image of the love of his life in his head that never failed to make him smile like the fool he was. Every time he looked at the lady, his heart swelled like the first time and he fell head over heels in love with her all over again.

Their love grew with each passing day, always there for each other to share tears of joy during happy days and a comforting warm embrace on difficult times. Day by day they grown to look more like one another like a reflection in the mirror.

Every day Jinah felt grateful and thankful to have Chanhee by her side, her source of strength, the sun of her day and the moon of her night. Her smile never ceased; never leaving her face and those dark yet stunning eyes would always be able to make her heart melts and butterflies flew around inside her stomach every time they stared into her eyes, and her love would once again bloom.

Four years passed by in a blink of an eye and two rings were exchanged, a vow was made, a promise was declared and a bond was created. An unbreakable red string of fate strengthened its hold around their little fingers.

“Even if time passes, even if everything changes, I promise I’ll be on your side. I’ll give my life to you. I love you, Lee Chanhee.”

“I promise to stay by your side, even if time passes I will not change. I will always give you my smile. I will make you the happiest person. I love you and I’ll protect you, Im Jinah.”
