I was a masochist for doing this but then again, I would be a masochist if I didn’t. Looking at myself in the mirror, I sighed. I wore a pair of jeans and a black v-neck shirt and I tucked it in and I wore my sneakers. I head down to the front door where my driver was waiting for me.

“Where to, Ms. Lee?” he asks

“Kona Beans, please” I say and he smiles at me

I ride the car and driver took me to Kona Beans which was a little over an hour and a half drive from my house. It was a good thing that it took me at least an hour to get there. I had time to think and calm down. When my driver dropped me off of in front of Kona Beans, I resented my choice of coming here. I run my fingers through my hair and enter the cafe. She was wearing a pencil skirt and a white top with a black blazer to cover it. Her hair was neatly done and I clearly see a smirk dance on her lips. I walked towards her.

She smiled at me as she stood up and greeted me, “Hello” she smiled

“Hello” I smiled

“Please, take a seat” she insisted and I did, “What would you like?”

I shake my head, “No thanks”

She nods, “I see you’re curious about me and Kyu”

Kyu. She calls him Kyu too? I nod, “Yes. Tell me everything” I say

She laughs a little, “I love Kyuhyun” she says simply

I take in a breath, “If you love him . . . why did you leave him?” I asked

“I was young then but I wasn’t stupid. I knew Kyuhyun wanted someone who was independent and smart and what was I? I was spoiled and irresponsible girl. So, I decided to make myself more presentable and I made sure that when I come back, Kyuhyun will fall absolutely in love with me” she explained, “While I was studying, Kyuhyun and I . . . communication” she chuckles, “Well, we hardly even had real communication before” she adds

“You didn’t bother to . . . call him?” I asked

“There was no point. He would just talk to me like I’m no one” she said and then she looked at me directly in the eyes, “I was actually surprised to see you . . . with him” she eyes me like an insect

“What do you mean?”

“Don’t act so stupid, Min Ri. You and I both know that Kyuhyun is your teacher and you’re his student” she says, “I get it. Kyuhyun is the handsome, rich, smart and older man. You’re the innocent girl he fell in love with. I get that ” she says to me

“I . . . How did you know about that?” I asked

“I’ve been . . . researching about you and I don’t think your little daddy would approve if he found out Kyuhyun was your teacher. I wouldn’t” she eyed me again

“That’s not your business” I say

“Isn’t it? Kyuhyun is mine. He was mine and now, I’m going to take him back” she says through gritted teeth

“You can’t keep us apart” I say

“I can’t . . . but the head master of KyungHee University can” she says “Oh, did I mention that the head master was my uncle?” she asked and smiled wickedly

There was nothing else I could do, “Min Ri, Kyuhyun will marry me and I think you have to get that through your thick head” she says and stands, “I’m really disappointed at Kyuhyun for choosing you as a replacement” she shakes her head and leaves.

Replacement. I’m a replacement. I stand and head out of the cafe. I see my driver hold the open car door for me and I flash him a smile. I ride the car and we drove off.

“Where to Ms. Lee?” he asked me

“Home” I said with a shaking voice

My driver looks at me through the rear view mirror, “Ms. Lee, are you alright?” he asked

I nodded, “Yes” I whispered

“Ms. Lee, I’ve been your driver for over thirteen years . . . I know you” he says, “I know your father may not be here right now, but if he was, I’m sure he’d be listening to you so, on behalf of your father, I’m here to listen” he says

I smile at his concern, ”Thank you” I smile at him

“Tell me all about it” he insists

“Well . . . I’m in love with this man and his ex came back and now, she’s warning me to stay away from him” I say as a tear rolled down on my face

He glances at me, “This isn’t Mr. Choi, isn’t it?” he clarifies

I nod, “No. It’s not Minho . . . it’s someone else” I say

“The man who owns the Audi R8 and keeps climbing in your window every night?”

My eyes widened, “You saw him?”

“Yes, Ms. Lee but he didn’t look like he would hurt you and from the car, I knew he wouldn’t be stealing from the house”

I nod, “Yes . . . his name is Kyuhyun” I whisper

“And his ex is back?”

I nod

He sighs, “You can’t give up on him” he says

I sniff, “I have to or else . . . his job would be on the line” I say

He raises a brow which I can see through the rear view mirror, “Why?”

“He’s my teacher” I say

He suddenly stops the car, “Lee Min Ri! How could you do that? Date your teacher?” he says suddenly, like an authoritative father

My eyes widened, “Woah!” I raised my palms, surrendering

He clears his throat, “I’m sorry, Ms. Lee” he apologizes

I smile at his reaction, “It’s cool” I say

“What subject does he teach?” he asks

“Economics”

“How did he confess to you?”

“He kissed me---“ “He what?!” the car suddenly stops again

“He kissed me” I said , “When we were in Japan a few weeks ago” I say

“He kissed you?! How long?” he asked

“I don’t know” I smile at his panicking face

He breathes is again and starts driving, “Ms. Lee, does your father know about him?”

I nod, “But he doesn’t know he’s my teacher” I look at him through the rear view mirror, “Please don’t tell him” I beg

He nods, “Ms. Lee, I’m not a fan of a student-teacher relationship but, if you really love him, who am I to stop you, right? All I could do now is to constantly look after you and make sure he doesn’t go beyond his limits”

“Thank you” I smile at him

“Pleasure”

We arrive home and I head up to my room. I open the door and find it empty, with no one standing or sitting by my bed. I head to the bathroom and take a shower. A long, long shower. I head out and lay down on my bed, plugging in my ear phones and then . . . I started crying.

I was debating with myself. I have to let him go or else we’d be more separated from each other more. I would and I could bear seeing him with another woman but I cannot bear not seeing him at school ever. That would be more painful for me than it already is, knowing another woman would be beside her. This is probably the worst choice of my life and I think it would be the best as well. I neede to end things. It was so soon but this would make our lives easier. I know that it woul. I hope it would or else, there would be no point in sacrificing my happiness for the joy of others.
