Another special Hunhan for you. I love you my girl <3.

Going to the club at 2a.m, choosing a half sheltered corner to sit and downing one to another scotch on rock is absolutely not Sehun’s favorite thing. He’s not an alcoholic or a party-guy or whatever they name what he’s doing. He doesn’t even know the name of any bar in the radius of 1km from his apartment or office. He’s a type of maintaining a healthy-but-not-too-lame lifestyle, which is waking up at 6, going to gym, working till 7 and shopping groceries once a week.

However, today was an exception.

When Sehun woke up this morning, he didn’t want to roll out of bed. When he showered at the gym, he saw his chin full with bristly hair though he had just shaved yesterday. When he arrived at his office, he couldn’t find a tiny spot to place his key since his desk was totally a mess with documents and files. This case really ed him up.

His team wouldn’t be beaten without mercy like that if they had more time to prepare. But this was how life going on and as the leader, he must bear full responsibility for the first utter defeat. Reporters immediately laid siege to him, asking for more detail but all he could do was shaking his head in denial, struggling to escape from the crowd. He caught the conceited laugh of the opponent from the back.

It’s about to pass midnight when the security of the building welcomed him home and Sehun nonchalantly waved his hands as a polite gesture, drove his car to the usual spot. He intended to take a hot shower then go to sleep because tomorrow would be another tough day but after tossing continuously on his bed, he yanked out the blanket in frustration and went to make himself a drink.

The TV was showing the rerun of 9 o’clock news right on his part with remark “…..the public prosecutor refuses to give any comment or further explanation about their first loss today and it seems like CYC’s stock price in the market is going to increase again in the next few days….”. That was when Sehun flicked it off, grabbed the black jacket and stormed out of his apartment. The next thing he knew he’s already wasted half of money in his pocket on wine.

A loud burst of laugh snaps him out of his gaze on the couple grinding against each other on the dance floor. Slowly shifting his eyes aside, Sehun sees a group of middle-aged men having a rollicking time, each has a young pretty twenty-look-like girl on his side. Wine and woman, of course, is the best combination in the world. A flash of his childhood runs through his mind and Sehun unconsciously clenches his knuckles white.

Even under the affection of the flickering light and remixed music, Sehun recognizes those people just two tables from his. With his eyes half open, he still sees the satiety on Chung Yunchoo’s face, the president of CYC Financial group. They must be celebrating the first win at the court today, being accused of committing tax fraud in the last three years, which reminds Sehun of his demanded task to supply more proof of their trespass in the next hearing.

Draining dry the liquid in anger, he’s about to turn away when someone’s figure catches his attention.  He doesn’t know he has been staring at that girl with an open mouth until she her hair in joy and accidently meets his eyes.

Sehun quickly stands up, feels a little dizzy but still manages to reel out of the club without knocking anyone off.

“Have you ever been attracted to a girl without reason?”

Sehun vaguely asks, sipping on his dark coffee. Jongin lowers the newspaper in his hands for a second, looking at him as if he’s just come back from the Moon. They’re meeting for an enjoyable Sunday’s breakfast and a question like that is definitely not relaxed at all.

“Have we just met?” Jongin narrows his brows “And what do you mean by without reason? I never… Wait a minute, you find a girl attractive?”

His colleague aka his best friend puts down the paper on the table, finally sees the topic interesting.

“I don’t know. Isn’t it weird?”

Of course it is weird. Everyone knows him is somehow aware that Sehun has an undefined dislike towards women, especially young pretty ones. It doesn’t mean he treats them badly, he simply tends to keep a certain distance from them but still remain a gentle man image like his mother used to wish him to be. Only his close friends understand the reason behind his story, not that Sehun’s willing to tell anyone else about it as well.

“Who is she?”

Jongin skips the question because the answer is quite obvious, focusing on the detail of the mysterious girl.

“I don’t know.”

“What’s her name?”

“I don’t know.”

“At least you have her number?”

Another head shaking in reply and Jongin reaches his patience’s limit.

“Don’t you tell me it happened in your dream because you’re ruining my lovely Sunday morning man.”

Letting out a sigh, Sehun chews on his lower lip hesitantly

“I saw her at a club and she...”

“You went to a club without me?” Jongin slips out of his tongue and Sehun gives him a pointed look. He laughs it off with a shrug “Sorry, continue please.”

“Anyway, she was sitting with a bunch of s from CYC.”

“Chung Yunchoo?” the said name has been a hot trend in the whole head quarter since the day his team was assigned this case and its fame was increasing in light speed after his loss last week “What was she? A call-girl?”

The tanned skin boy jerks in surprise and drills a hole on Sehun’s forehead with his gaze. A call girl is exactly the type Sehun hates the most and now he’s saying that he was fascinated by one, not to mention that they didn’t even talk.

“I don’t think so.” Sehun taps his chin seriously, recalls the way that girl dressing back then “She’s kind of different from others.”

“I cannot believe it.”

“What?”

“Look at your face. You’re actually thinking about a girl” Jongin pauses in a split of second and then claps his hands excitedly, a -eating grin tugging at the corner of his mouth “Oh my God, this will be the biggest news of the year, Oh Sehun -  Straight or Gay?”

“ you.”

Sehun growls, grabs a spoon and throws it directly at his friend but Jongin is faster, ducks down and the spoon perfectly “kisses” the waitress’s not far from them. She turns back with a not-very-pleased expression on her chubby face and Sehun has to pull out his killer smile to excuse her then shoots an icy laser across the table.

Jongin holds up his hands, lips are pressed into a thin line to restrain himself from laughing out loud.

“So…what are you gonna do?”

“Nothing.” Sehun exhales a tired sigh, sinking into the big chair “In case you forget, I’m having a case biting on my right now.”

“Oh right. How is it going?”

“Can’t get any worse. If it doesn’t get progressed within ten days, I’ll be so screwed.”

His friend sends him a sympathetic smile before smacking his tongue, picking up the newspaper to continue his previous reading. They don’t mind each other’s business, that’s the deal from the beginning and Sehun can’t be more thankful because he may lose his temper if anyone asks him about it.

Darting his eyes to the street outside, Sehun silently watches people walking on the pavement in a hurry, trying to enjoy his rare moment of peace. Whether he likes or not, tomorrow will be another war of nerves.

*********

A week passes and Sehun feels like he’s aged 10 years already under the pressure from his boss. The investigation finally achieves a positive result but it’s still not enough to knock out CYC group thoroughly. Even so he is more confident to deal the lawyers of the defendant a death-blow the next Wednesday.

Sehun looks through the folder labeled confidential in the front one more time before stands up, grabs the car key and turns off the desk lamp. It may a little cross his competence but it won’t kill anyone if he keeps a close watch in silence right?

It’s a lie to say that he didn’t think about that girl in the last hectic week. He couldn’t get her face out of mind and somehow it felt so familiar as if he had seen her more than once before. The weirdest part was the more he thought about her, the more his heart was stirred which seemed not right because he had actually laid his eyes on someone else.

To seek the answer for his own sake, Sehun had to take one of his advantages of being the leader of this operation, accessing some personal tracking files, hoping to find out who mysterious girl was.

The club is packed with people when he arrives. He scans around the private area and spots the CYC group’s table in no time. Different from the last time, Sehun needs to remain sober so he only orders a martini and chooses a place near the bar counter so that he can have a full view of what’s going on over there without being too obvious.

His target today again looks extremely appealing with smoky eyes make up, black leather leggings, simple white shirt with hems rolled up and tied together, revealing the smooth skin of her belly. A black fur waistcoat and a pair of half-boots completed the hot rock-chic look on her.

Sehun blinks and snaps out of his observation as a guy in that group dragging her to the dance floor against her will. However, except for her strained smile and a few times looking back to that table longingly, the girl doesn’t show anything else and decides to play along. And it is when Sehun sees something priceless to prove his previous supposition right. He throws the last olive into his mouth to gather himself and follows the voice inside his head.

By the time he approaches them, that jerk’s hand already works up to her and he can see the slight irritation hiding in her doe-like eyes. Sehun starts moving with the groove, skillfully slides between and breaks their connection. The old man only has chance to protest with a loud “HEY” before Sehun wraps his hands around the girl’s waist and pushes her toward the crowd of young teenagers dancing overenthusiastically.

He manages to go through them and corners his target against the wall, the grip on her hip is loosened. For the very first time they look straight at each other, faces are only inches apart.

“You shouldn’t be here tonight you know. It’s dangerous.”

Sehun mumbles, doesn’t know what’s controlling him at this moment but before he decides what to do next, his lips are pressed against the soft ones.  He can see the shock lingering at the bottom of her eyes after she pushes him away but he doesn’t want to care that much. He knows she will neither slap him because it’s too girly for her own muscle nor punch him right into the nose like a real guy because the action is too manly for her own outfit. He knows his target is completely trapped.

“What the hell are you doing?”

To answer the question, Sehun once again closes the gap between them by another kiss, this time a passionate one. The latter is caught off guard, yelps in surprise and he takes the chance to slip his tongue into the hot cavern, initiatively exploring every nook and cranny of it.

With her hands being locked tightly in Sehun’s clutch, the girl struggles to get out but no success, only pants hard as he lets go of her lips for air and shifts his attack to her earlobe.

“But…I…I’m a…guy”

Sehun stops in a second but instead of jerking back in disgust, a smirk curves up on his parted lips, hand tugs the smaller person closer and whispers with his hoarse voice.

“I know. It’s even much better.”

Without giving his target any time to response, Sehun trails down to his neck, the sensitive skin there and kisses until he’s sure there will be a damn visible hickey the next morning. When a small moan is heard at the back of the boy’s throat, he couldn’t help but chuckle contentedly for doing a good job.

The boy is also surprised by his own reaction to the pleasure running through his body, snaps his fluttering eyes open and shoves Sehun with all the strength left inside him. Seeing how Sehun darts his tongue out lustfully and the satisfied smirk plastering on his face, he bashfully turns on his heels, running off as fast as possible.

The second trial went exactly what Sehun had planned when he left his office this morning. The usual arrogant smile on Chung Yunchoo’s lips faded in a record of time as soon as Sehun showed a file proving his financial derogation in the last year, including bribery and tax fraud and it quickly turned into a frown. Their effect was totally paid back when the judge agreed to give his team another two weeks to collect more evidence before the final.

Sehun gets out of the elevator using for delivery only with a victory smile on his face. He’s aware that the battle will be tougher for sure because after today CYC will definitely mobilize all material resources to protect the president from at least 5 years in prison but it also means they may reveal their weak spot and it will be the end of their glory.

His phone vibrates in the pocket and Sehun chuckles as he reads the message. Although he feels a little sorry for his teammate to put up with the reporters for him, he couldn’t help but finding a way to escape from those aggressive people who have been cooling their heels in front of the court for  a whole morning, trying to update the latest development of the hearing. After all this is one of the biggest financial cases in a year.

The last experience teaches Sehun one thing, always face the reporters when everything has already been settled or else they will drive crazy with their cameras, mics and stupid questions.

“Are you running away?”

An accented voice resounds from behind but Sehun doesn’t have to spin around to know whose it is. He keeps walking towards his car.

“You know I don’t like being circled by a bunch of people like you.”

“So that’s why you used this elevator? Nice!”

Sehun stops at the mocking tone, slowly turns back to see a ty grin plastering on the guy’s face. He doesn’t know what is with him to have his heart beat uncontrollably whenever they meet because reporter is the second place in his enemy list but this guy no doubt makes the most out of it.

His name is Luhan, a topnotch journalist from Seoul Economic Magazine. He’s smart, handsome yet cute but don’t let that baby face fool you, he’s a rose sprig full of thorns.

There is a big question Sehun can’t explain yet that beyond everyone’s expectation, Luhan didn’t focus on his loss like everyone writing about the news, he just mentioned it as an objective incident and predicted the situation could be reversed. It somehow gave Sehun a lot of courage to continue working hard on this case and he guessed a nice attitude would not harm his sanity.

“Just because you’re clever doesn’t mean everyone is dumb.”

And those are the nicest thing Sehun can say at this moment, earning a loud laugh from the smaller boy who is propping his elbow on the top of his red car not far from him.

“Haha, yeah you’re right. You’re clever too.” Luhan winks mischievously

“You don’t wait for me just to make compliment right? It doesn’t sound like you.”

Sehun’s forehead wrinkles, he suddenly lifts up his shield.

“Of course not.” Luhan drops his chin on the back of his hands, making his lips pout a little bit and Sehun swears his stomach twists a knot in response “I just wonder if stalking the defendant is a part of your job because I remember seeing you somewhere.”

“I don’t think you have the right to ask me that question.” Sehun doesn’t flinch at the attack, even ripostes with the best confidence in his voice “Because I guess dressing like a girl to approach defendant is not written on your job description either.”

Even though they are three car slots away from each other, Sehun can see pink color dusting the smaller one’s cheeks for a split of second. Luhan quickly covers the embarrassing moment of him by another retort

“FYI, he’s your defendant, not mine. I only went there to collect more material for my article.”

“In a call-girl disguise? I didn’t see it coming though.”

“Well, I didn’t see it coming when you dragged me out and sealed my lips, twice.”

“You should thank me because if it wasn’t me, it would be that jerk who did it.”

“Yeah? Thank to you, my effort in a week was in vain.”

They pause and stare at each other. Sehun doesn’t understand why every time they encounter, it will be either argument or going out of the way to discover weak points. It makes him want to slap himself so hard because all he wants is having a simple talking then finding an appropriate timing to ask Luhan out but look how far he’s gone. He’s sure the latter is building up certain hatred toward him after all of their war of words.

“Er…I’m sorry for having interrupted your job.” Sehun flashes an apologetic expression, his hair awkwardly “I…I was an idiot.”

Despite his attempt to cool the tensed atmosphere around them, Luhan throws him a sideways look, mumbling “Yes you are.” then gets into his car, driving off in front of Sehun’s dazed face.

Working in an office at the height of 50 meters with big glass window has its own advantage. Beside the full view of the whole city from above, you can forget about the hasty life out there for a while and immerse in the little peaceful moment of your living.

Luhan leans comfortably back on his wheeled chair, hands wrapping around his favorite mug, enjoys smoky hot coffee while thinking back about the first day he met Sehun.

It was two years ago when he heard news about the youngest officer had been recruited into the SEP department which was odd because the SEP was famous for its requirement of experienced staff. There were a lot of rumors about that guy, in both good and not-so-good way, such as he was born in an influential family, he’d just come back Korea after a long time living abroad, he’s nothing but a good-looking guy and a lady-killer.

As a person who has lived in a foreign country independently for a long time, worked hard to achieve what he’s having, the rumored-Sehun was closely the type he hated. That’s why he decided to write a paper about how descendant from dominant family in general was treated unfairly special by taking a deep research on the younger one’s profile and even used his mutual relationship to get access to some private files.

What he found out surprised him to his soul. Sehun was actually born in a rich family but he had a fierce childhood with the loss of his parents. When he was nine, his dad had an affair with a young beautiful woman, half year after that, he left him and his mom to live with his lover. His mother became depressed and her health condition got worse every single day. When Sehun was in his last year of junior high, his mother was passed away, leaving him all alone.

Luhan used his short vacation to track down all the record and since then he started to pay attention to Sehun, maybe a bit too much from a stranger to a stranger. However the stubborn part of him never lets him have a chance to make a good impression on Sehun and before he could stop, there was only argument in their memory about each other.

Not until a week ago, when Sehun practically choked him till death with his kisses. The taste of martini mixed with sensation had been lingering there, on his lips, for like two days or more, not to mention the freaking hickey right above his collarbone, successfully flushed cheeks whenever he saw himself in a mirror.

A knock on the door yanks him out of his thought. Guessing it is his secretary, Luhan vaguely answers without moving.

“Come in.”

“You look so relaxed huh?”

A familiar voice makes him jump out of his skin and nearly choke on the coffee. Luhan rolls back to see a gruff Sehun fixing an icy look on him, harshly throwing a newspaper on the table. He recognizes his newest detailed analysis about the CYC group printed on the front page. He picks it up and looks up to Sehun, bewilderment lingering in his eyes.

“What’s wrong?”

“Now you’re asking me what’s wrong?” Sehun lets out a muffled laugh “Your article got me an earful speech this morning, thank you very much. My boss told me to give you a visit, by the way learning some new tricks from you for our inquiry.”

A crafty smirk is tugging at the corner of his mouth when Luhan stretches out his hand as a gesture to tell the other to sit down, pressing the loudspeaker on the phone.

“Eunji, please bring a cup of coffee for officer Oh here. No sugar, just some milk is okay. Thanks.”

“How….”

Sehun sputters but gets cut off by a playful shhhh~~~ along with a wink. Luhan waits until the main door is shut down then slowly takes a sip on his own drink, tilting his head and Sehun’s heart skips a beat at the cute act from a guy who is in fact older than him.

“Okay, you have three questions. Use it wisely.”

Sehun opens his mouth, about to ask how Luhan could know his habit of drink coffee without sugar but stops himself timely. He doesn’t come here to chitchat, so first thing first, he has to focus to the main point.

“How do you know CYC would use one of its subsidiary companies as a shield?”

“Isn’t it obvious? Puppet is always a good backup. Besides, you’re not the only one who has been tracking every of his move.”

Unlike to what Sehun’s expecting, Luhan answers in a coherent way, confidence showing on his face. He has nothing to hide and he knows this is just a bait, the real one will come up next.

“Where did you get the list of government officials accepted a bribe from CYC?”

Sehun darts his tongue out nervously. Those names are confidential and the fact that Luhan not only listed a few ones but also implied in his paper that he knew the number as well actually drove him crazy to think about the price the Chinese had to pay for it.

To his dismay, Luhan chuckles and his hair calmly

“Well, it’s a secret.”

“Try again" Sehun furrows his brows, arms folding tightly against his chest "I don’t like playing hard to get.”

Luhan pouts testily, he hates it when Sehun uses this interrogating voice to talk to him. He’s not a suspect, why can’t Sehun be gentle to him like the way he treats the others?

“I heard it from some friends over a drink, okay?”

“What friends?” Sehun seems to lose his patience, slams both hands on the table “Is it that jerk at the bar? What did he do to you?”

“If that is your last question then yes, it’s him.” Luhan snorts, lifts up his chin ersely “And what’s between me and him has nothing to do with you.”

They lock their tensed look on each other and if stare could kill, there would be more than one dead body here. Sehun is the one to break the silence by standing up abruptly as if he’s going to spring at Luhan. The latter’s jaw drops when he watches him walking fast to the entrance and stops there for a long minute. Then with the same shocking expression, he has Sehun locking the door, moving toward him and before he can prepare for what’s happening, the younger one is already on top him, invading his personal space violently. The wheeled chair is too small for two people and Luhan can only yelp as he’s being pressed hard backwards.

“I will say it once so listen carefully. You don’t know how much it twists my stomach when I look at your face but can’t touch it or how it provokes my nerves when I see you smile at your colleague but you never smile like that to me. It drives me crazy just to think about how many guys you had to flirt with to seek for what you call material of your writing. So hell yeah, what happened between you and that ing matters to me. Are we clear?”

Even though it doesn’t help him to response to all of those things Sehun has just confessed, Luhan keeps blinking insanely to gather himself together

“I…you…”

The rest of incoherent words are swallowed by the parted lips of Sehun on his and the only thing Luhan can do right now is gripping his hands tightly on the chair’s arms, fluttering his eyes off. He suddenly realizes this is what he’s craving for the whole week, the taste of Sehun. They move in sync so that the kiss can get deepened to such an extent that there is nowhere inside his mouth Sehun’s tongue does not leave its mark yet.

Sehun pulls apart or else they will be killed because of the lack of oxygen and Luhan’s grip unconsciously shifts to his waist. He pants hard against Luhan’s ear, whispering with his low voice.

“Is your office fitted up with camera?”

“No…why?”

“Good.”

Before he gets the subtle implication in Sehun’s short answer, Luhan is lifted up and spun around so now he’s the one who is sitting on Sehun’s thighs, hands wrapping around his neck, being tugged down for another tongue battle.

**********

The sunray beams straight into Sehun’s face when he gets out of the building but he doesn’t even have time to squint because a bunch of reporters swarms over and stretches mics at him. He stops, giving the speech he prepared earlier in the bathroom next to the court room concisely. He knows today is not about him, it should be about the man who has just been sentenced 5 years for bribery and tax fraud.

He ends his speaking with a looking back, accidently shifting everyone’s attention to a group behind. The crowd releases him and starts running to circle around Chung Yunchoo and his people, who are escorted outside by the police.

Well, everyone except for a certain boy with sparkling doe-like eyes smiling at him.

“No delivery elevator today huh?” Luhan teases, earning a chuckle from Sehun.

“Why should I?” he shrugs, flicking the other’s nose caressingly “When my boyfriend is waiting here for me?”

“Huh, who is your boyfriend?” the Chinese plays innocent

“Shut up.”

Sehun throws him a sideways look and Luhan sticks out his tongue in reply.

It might be a little hard for them to get rid of old habit of messing around with each other, but they are willing to learn some new ones day by day together.
