Chapter Six: Target practice went a little like this (kiss)

"So V, you're sending-"

"X me and Solstice will be coming. K and Moon will stay behind, K..." V trailed off and Suho nodded amicably, understanding immediately. V was doing her job as a leader in hopes that K would not have to face her sister on the battlefield. Well, it wasn't going to be any easier if members of her sisterhood was going to kill her sister too, Suho thought darkly before turning to SHINee.

"Chain Flame and bling will be coming. If its possible I'll send dancing maknae in too. But only if, no promises there." T replied softly and Suho nodded before inclining his head towards North and Star.

"North, Willow, Gem, March, April you'll-"

"I'm coming." That short quirky piping statement rang out and Kyungsoo was sure Star wanted to facepalm herself as the maknae shot her older sister a reprimanding look.

"No way."

"Yes."

"They're not there to babysit you-"

"HEY I can take care of myself!"

"Bull." All eleven sisters retorted and the brotherhoods and sisterhoods bit back muffled snorts and giggles as Snowflower whirled around, positively incensed.

"That's my line!!!"

"Oh let her come," V exhaled, and Chen almost, almost saw an amused motherly glint in her eye, even as her voice came out exasperated, "X will be looking forward to babysit."

"Hey just because I'm nice doesn't mean-"

"YAY HA, ha, ha, HA, see? I can go! HA." Snowflower sang, punctuating her words with a jab in North's direction while Kyungsoo struggled to bite back the amusement that was sure to show on his face. Suho gave a soft chuckle before flipping through the list of whose turn it should be to go into battle.

"We'll be sending... Luhan, Tao, Kai, XiuMin, Kyungsoo, Lay, Chen, with Chanyeol and Sehun as back up. Okay so 2pm KST that leaves us two hours or so before they attack. Right, we have all the Captains and commanders down there and in both attacking and defending positions correct?" Kris asked, scanning through his tablet while Baekhyun nodded, everyone already in place.

"Checked and loaded section 13B, all areas armed and ready for battle V." Moon called out, nodding at Baekhyun.

"Defence systems in place, areas 15ABCD as well as 13E, all places set and ready. Do you want to give the orders to start the weaponry-" T nodded and Dancing maknae quickly tapped the keyboard.

"Locked and loaded areas 16AC as well as 18BCDE, everything is in position." Ocean called out to Star who nodded, expanding the map to take in the view of where all the allies were. Black dots dignified Exo, purple Jupiter, silver for SHINee and yellow for F(x). After a brief discussion, all sisters murmured, seemingly worried before North turned to the other brotherhoods and sisterhood, "How do you want to meet up?"

"That's easy, there's a back gate to the airport under F(x) territory; we have a base there ready and its the furthest from SJ. But we'll have to go through SHINee's territory."

"Groups?" Suho asked aloud and all the leaders shared worried looks.

"X will go with Snowflower, along with...?"

"I'll go with her! Honestly that girl needs some parental guidance!" Chain sniffed and K laughed, as Suho contemplated what to do.

"Earthquake you join Snowflower." What. Again?! Okay.... Kyungsoo thought, shooting Suho a what the man look at his leader who pointedly ignored him.

"Gem as well as March will be with Snowflower too. The rest-"

"Can hold their own ground." T said quietly and there was a five seconds split pause before simultaneously all the video conferences ended. And then, all hell broke loose.

"What the man, why am I on the scene again??? Its not my turn, its your turn!" Kyungsoo folded his arms and stared at Kris in a reprimanding almost sullen way.

"Yeah and its my turn to go out not Kai!" Sehun called out while slowly the clamours built up.

"SHUT IT." Suho suddenly roared and everyone fell silent as Suho sighed wearily, before plastering a wide beautific smile on his face, "I know everyone is obviously stressed out  and confused but please remember this is against both SJ AND, AND, SNSD. The two biggest strongest groups. Only the strongest members as well as experienced," Suho highlighted that word, shooting Sehun a reprimanding look, "can go. Kyungsoo, I put you with Snowflower because you're strong and you know that having a maknae on the scene is dangerous. Furthermore, she is new. That's why you guys have to form a protective circle around her. Specifically her. Is that clear? Luhan I want you shadowing on their group you got that? One whiff of trouble you contact HQ and get Chanyeol and Sehun to fetch her out pronto. Clear?"

There was silence before muffled yes along with soft tones of agreements reached Suho's ears. Damnit his back still hurt from that time they had a fight in Seoul. Kyungsoo thought darkly as he slammed his headphones down onto the table. He hated going out onto the scene. Entering the field just meant killing people and a lot of unnecessary blood spilt. Sigh, why couldn't he have a freaking normal life and just a normal chance to date a girl have friends, study worry about nothing? Like Suki... He thought to himself as he pressed his hand against the scanner code to activate their door towards both the garage and weapons base. Grabbing his suit as well as vest, he proceeded to change, rolling his eyes as Chen through him a black beanie. The one that Chen himself had gotten from him. Yanking it down in place, he strapped the vest in place before lacing up his leather shoes, the bullet proof uniform like a second skin as he finally pulled back the curtains.

"So what do you, thanks Kris, have for me?" Kyungsoo asked Chanyeol and Kai, taking the earbud from Kris and fitting it into his right lobe. Sehun rolled his eyes as Chanyeol jokingly held up a water gun which Kyungsoo deadpanned at before using it to whack him across the head. Aish seriously, this hyung!

"Ow! Well, I have for you a grenade obviously and your trusty gun that you never let me renew, but, but I have a new fantastic toy for you OW-!!"

"Chanyeol stop it!" Kyungsoo groaned, whacking his hyung, exasperation written all over his face. Cue the pouty face from Chanyeol and Kai's roll of his eyes.

"Here, its a grappling hook. And a new gun-"

"Chanyeol you know I don't-"

"Suho's orders. Two guns per person. Sorry Soo." Chanyeol made a face before Baekhyun has grabbed hold of him and yanked him away. Kyungsoo sighed before sliding his gun in place. Honestly, all those dramas whereby they tuck guns into their pants? Doesn't happen unless you want your accidentally blown off. Kyungsoo glances over to Chen and gently tugs at the strap, signing again. Chen paused in his weapon strapping and gave Kyungsoo a sympathetic smile.

"Your back still hurts doesn't it?"

"Yeah." Kyungsoo almost growled in reply, shooting Suho an angry look which the elder returned with an apologetic smile.

"Whatever you do, remember your training. You know the rules. Luhan you'll lead the invading party, take Tao, XiuMin and Kai, along with Chanyeol. Lay you'll be paired with Chen. There's no immediate medic so I need you to watch our for injuries. The only person in ths medical field is Chain and Solstice. Kyungsoo and Sehun, with Snow Flower's invading party Sehun staying hidden in the get away car." Suho emphasises, Kris nodding his head, ignoring Sehun's muttering protest.

"Alright, off you go!" Kris' words are all they need as they soon set off in two different cars. Chen with Lay Kyungsoo and Sehun, Luhan with Tao Kai XiuMin and Chanyeol. This left behind Kris with Suho and Baekhyun, watchng as their brothers filed out of the room to the garage.

“Baekhyun. Desk. Now.” Kris voice is low and firm which has Baekhyun scurrying to the desktop, biting his bottom lip in anxiousness. For some strange reason this feels wrong; too easy, and Baekhyun has a bad feeling about this. A really bad feeling about this.

“So where are we meeting the rest?” Chen questions, raising his head to look at Lay who’s frowning at the laptop, Sehun turning the wheel of the car, raising an eyebrow as Lay shakes his head before turning a beaming smile to Chen.

“I’m sorry?”

“I said,” Chen emphasised, an amused smile playing on his lips, “So where exactly are we going?”

“Oh! Buncheon of course, through SHINee’s territory at Gyeongin Expressway around there and we’ll turn in and afterwards meet up with the rest at the base; around Songnae-dong there.”

“Thank God for GPS.” Sehun mutters, earning a loud bark of laughter from Kyungsoo whose lips were previously pursed, arms folded as he gaze bored holes into the seats around him.

“Alright Mister Grumpy, let’s turn that frown upside down!” Chen teases, reaching forward to pinch Kyungsoo’s cheek, which has the younger knocking his hand away, expression irritated.

“Tch.” Kyungsoo mutters, turning his head as he watches the scenery pass by in a blur, his insides still boiling at being sent out onto the field. Why did he even get sent out? No, why did SJ even have to attack soon? Couldn’t they have some kind of etiquette for attacking your brotherhoods and sisterhoods? But Kyungsoo couldn’t help but feel himself perk up with excitement and delight at being with his allies. He could get close to F(x) and perhaps even persuade them to officially draw up an allianace contract. And Snow Flower… He couldn’t help but feel mystified but also curious as to what she looked like. And her humour; Kyungsoo felt a corner of his lips quirk in anticipation.

“Masks; five minutes and we’re in.” Sehun says warningly and Kyungsoo nods, picking up his green mask, biting his bottom lip as he slips it on. He felt so nervous which was strange. He never felt nervous when he was on field. Sure he got sick of it, complained about it but he had never truly felt that coiling in his stomach. His eyes flickered closed as he paid attention to the movements of the car, the slow crunch of the tyres, the gentle and slow way it finally halted.

“Bingo. We’re here, and looks like Jupiter is here too.” Lay murmurs before shoving Sehun backwards, “No leaving the car understand?”

Sehun mutters out an inaudible yes, eyes glowering at the car’s dashboard while Chen yanks the door open, sliding out of the car. He gets greeted immediately by V, with her white mask along with X and Solstice, red mask and purple mask respectively. With her dark short cropped hair, X stood out immediately, and Kyungsoo finds himself engulfed in a huge bear hug from X.

“Earthquake! I see you made it.” X teases and Kyungsoo rolls his eyes, punching her lightly in the shoulder as Luhan and his team meets up with V as well.

“What, I don’t get a greeting?” Flame’s familiar deep voice rings out and Kyungsoo groans as the taller man ruffles his hair, laughing all the same as Solstice high fives Flame, Bling greetingV.

“I see you’ve re-decorated.” Chain mentions, amazement in his voice and kyungsoo finds himself turning, his lips forming a soft ‘O’ as he took in F(x)’s new base. He hadn’t noticed when Sehun was driving that they had actually entered underground. Fluorescent lights shone like an airplane runway, and he could see various commanders talking inaudibly, buffed muscles rippling as they hefted up weapons. Further down, he could see several girls flipping and practicing with daggers, light and fast on their feet. A variety of cars could be seen littering the place and Kyungsoo couldn’t help it. He was impressed.

“Neat huh?” V teases and Kyungsoo chuckles as he nods his head at the leader’s proud tone. V ran her fingers through her long blonde hair, biting her bottom lip as she gazes at the concrete walls of the base. There was something about her stance, the cool calm and yet far away personality, that left Kyungsoo anxious. She was unpredictable, and just as dangerous as Sun. The thought almost sent him quaking with fear if it wasn’t for all the previous training he had. A loud shout has him turning around, V shifting her gaze as well.

“Come on you can do better than that!” A familiar Silver masked girl with straight black hair is yelling and there’s three more girls wearing masks as well, cat calling and cheering for someone wearing a tight fitting familiar navy suit.

“You can’t be that slow!” The girl in a tight white suit called out, laughing brightly.

“You sure you’re that same girl that beat Sun’s score?”

What?

A loud swear can be heard and Kyungsoo watches wide eyed as Snow Flower heads over to the dummy and yanks out the daggers one by one, her eyes blazing. North backs away from the maknae, seeming to know her fury as she curtly asks April to time her. Kyungsoo feels Chen beside him on his right, and his insides are whirling as he feels Flame tower behind him, V on his left, tilting her head curiously as they all watch the maknae.

“Ready?” April asks, white mask glinting under the lights, “Go!”

Kyungsoo feels his mouth go dry as Snow Flower immediately throws the first dagger, right onto the bulls eye. She does a quick turn and Kyungsoo’s heart hammers in his chest as she throws it at another dummy. Bulls eye again, and Kyungsoo swallows as Snow Flower skids under the table, arm shooting out and throwing the dagger, neatly skimming North’s head to strikes bulls eye on a dummy even further away. He knows this drill. It was part of the training programme they all went through before they were placed and introduced as a brotherhood. They called it the kiire essmärk, the quick aim test. It required speed and you had to be able to aim accurately and to pass, you had to be able to successfully hit several distant targets.

The first one had been a metre, second one a metre and a half. The one above North had been two metres. Snow Flower threw again and Kyungsoo his lips as the dagger flies and hits the two and a half metre dummy. So far he knows the record holder is Sun, with a time score of twenty seven seconds. The fifth dummy, Kyungsoo realises then, eyes widening, is right behind him. Crap he had gotten distracted he thinks as he finally spots Chen, having hurriedly moved away to the right. Horrible hyung, Kyungsoo thinks darkly as Snow Flower does a flip and lands exactly three metres away from the dummy, and half a metre away from him. It’s savage and yet with the grace of a huntress as she flings the last dagger that skims right pass his ear, the air whistling.

Kyungsoo is finally able to breathe when Snow Flower moves forward and he feel something warm press against his lips. Bewildered and shocked, Kyungsoo barely manages to reciprocate or do anything as soft pliant lips kiss him sweetly, Snow Flower tasting of candy floss for some strange reason. The kiss becomes rougher, her hands pulling him closer and their masks colliding. His entire body shivers as Snow Flower finally pulls away, eyes teasing good naturedly as he feels his lips tingle from the abrupt sudden kiss. Loud wolf whistles can be heard and Kyungsoo wonders if his ears are turning red. God that would be so embarassing he thinks as he looks at Snow fLower, pursing his slightly swollen lips.

“Twenty five seconds. Inclusive, of the kiss.” April announces proudly, and Kyungsoo’s eyes widen eve more as he looks at Snow Flower who smirks at him, sashaying away as he hears Chen (who has suddenly appeared again by his side) mummur in shock.

“Hello Earthquake –shii.”

Kyungsoo his lips without thinking, not feeling violated at all, for some strange reason. But Suki’s face fills his mind and he feels guilty. Oh no, he had a feeling he was in deep trouble. Deep, deep trouble.

OOH looks like Kyungsoo is going to get caught between Suki and Snow Flower, even though they're the same person! He'll have to choose the one he wants, and in the end what do you know? Will he even find out they're the same person? And SJ; what exactly are they planning? Haha I hope you guys pardon author-nim for the lack of updates!
