Eidolon

Description

He seemed almost too good to be true,

or maybe just to good to be human.

He was like a mirage,

a hallucination that constantly wavered in her vision;

always leaving her unconscious and doubtful.

  Then why did her heart deem him worthy to stay,

to linger endlessly through her thoughts—

to cloud her reality and never leave her forlorn.

[A/N] This is my first try to a short story. It was originally supposed to be a one-shot but the narrative expanded to a point longer than a chapter.

This story is inspired by the game 'The Last Story': chapter 20. It has gone through quite many changes, involving a mish-mash from my own imagination. So I hope you enjoy it!

I am open to feedback so feel free to leave any comments below.

Foreword

There wasn't even his presence, lurking among the shadows of the meadow. She sighed in relief and disappointment, and swiftly her heel, only to be stopped by the shadow that stretched forth on the ground.

Her breath caught in , she met his deep dark eyes that were like two drops of coffee, adorned in a face that wavered in her vision. No matter, how unclear they were, she labelled him as a haunting dark beauty. Her eyes followed to his lips that slowly moved pronouncing words in audible to her hearing. Perhaps, her fear had deafened but he edged closer toward her, his mouth mumbling two words, that sounded more haunting than they should have.

Beloved's here.
