Early Flight

Junhong was quick to unlock the door to his apartment and rush inside, throwing his bag on the couch he then ran to his bedroom, almost falling off the bed. He pulled his laptop from under the bed onto the messy duvet and quickly opened Skype. He almost squealed (okay, he actually did squeal) when he saw that Himchan was online and he immediately hit the video call button and waited anxiously for him to pick up. Finally the call processed and he was blessed with his boyfriend’s lovely face even if it was ty webcam quality.

“Hyung! I miss you so much!” The college student yelled into the laptop and leaned in close as if that would bring him closer to the person on the other end of the call.

Himchan chuckled and leaned closer to the screen as well, “I miss you too, Junhonggie. How’s school? Did you finish that project you were complaining about last time?”

Junhong smiled and put his hands on his hips, “I got an A! It really wasn’t all that good but I guess my professor just compared it to everyone else’s and it was the one with the most amount of effort so he gave me an A.” Junhong leaned really close to the webcam and put a hand near his mouth as if he were about to tell Himchan a secret, “But really, I think he just has a soft spot for me,” he whispered.

Himchan laughed and Junhong continued, “But I mean who doesn’t? I’m adorable.” He puffed out his cheeks and made a kissy face. Himchan cracked up on the other line and Junhong laughed along side him.

“Yes, you are. And that’s why I snatched you up first.” Himchan smiled tenderly and Junhong did the same, mouthing the words “I love you” through the screen.

The younger sighed and leaned back against the pillows behind him, giving Himchan a better view of the messy bed. He squinted through the screen and could definitely tell that their bed was a mess, “Yah! Junhong-ah! I thought I told you to change the bed sheets and make the bed everyday.”

Junhong pouted, “I got distracted…”

“By what?”

Junhong wanted to just sink into the pillows but sadly his blue hair contrasted well with the white pillow covers, “You.” He mumbled but loud enough for Himchan to hear.

“Me?” He questioned, “I’m not even there to distract you. If anything I’d be there nagging you.”

“Well,” Junhong fidgeted with his hands, embarrassed to tell Himchan, “Thoughts of you.”

Thoughts of me? Himchan asked himself, What would thoughts of me- oh! Himchan understood what Junhong was implying and leaned back against his office chair and groaned, running his hands across his face. It’s been so long and he didn’t even want to be reminded that they hadn’t had in weeks since he’s been in Japan for a stupid business trip. He would have taken Junhong but he still had classes to attend and there was no way he was skipping them for a couple weeks.

“Don’t remind me.” He groaned when he saw Junhong biting his lip. He wanted it; he wanted it so bad. “We’re just gunna have to wait another week.”

Junhong sighed but then perked up, “A week? You said you’d be home within the next two days! I can’t wait another week, Channie! I’m gunna explode from missing you too much!” He whined.

The older man sighed, “They need me here until the end of the week and postponed me coming home. I’m sorry, Junnie. You think I don’t want to be home with you too? I don’t have a choice…”

Junhong was close to tears. He was so close to having his beloved in his arms again but he was just pulled away again. Surviving these last two weeks were probably some of the hardest days Junhong has been through. He may just curl into a ball and cry until Himchan comes home in four or five days.

No matter how hard he tried to keep the tears in, he couldn’t help but let one escape his lid and fall down his cheek. Even with the ty resolution Himchan could see the tear fall and he reached out but frowned when he realized he couldn’t wipe his tears away and kiss away his frown. He wanted to but he couldn’t.

“Please, Junhong, don’t cry. You’ve gotten through two weeks without me, what’s a couple more days?” Himchan tried to reason.

“A couple more days, Himchan? I barely survived the past two weeks without you. I can barely hold up until tomorrow…” Junhong sobbed. He wiped away the tears furiously but every time they were wiped away new ones replaced them.

Himchan was close to letting his tears fall as well. The past two weeks haven’t been easy on him either but he knew Junhong hated being alone. He didn’t want to stay the extra days but it’s not like he could refuse his boss. He hated seeing his baby cry and all he wanted to do was kiss away his sadness and smother him with love. It was kind of hard to do that when you’re in another country.

“I’m sorry, Junhong.” He mumbled, not knowing what else to do or say. He didn’t like making the younger upset and he was mad at himself for having it come to this.

Junhong sniffled and looked down at his hands, “I’m gunna go. I have homework to do.”

“I’m really sorry, Junhong. I hope you know that.” Himchan pleaded.

“I know…”

It was quiet before Himchan spoke again, “I love you. A lot.” Himchan attempted a smile but Junhong still didn’t look at the monitor.

“I love you, too.” Junhong hit the “end call” button and closed the laptop, shoving it back under the bed.

He flopped back on the pillows and stained the covers with his tears until he fell asleep. He didn’t care if he was overreacting; he wanted Himchan.

***

The next day Junhong only had two classes, one of them being cancelled so he stayed in bed until noon when he had to finally get up. He sat in the back and didn’t answer questions like he normally would. He didn’t even take notes or pay attention so he really had no idea what the teacher had taught in their hour-long lecture. He could just get notes from someone else.

When class was over he headed to his and Himchan’s favorite coffee shop and sat by the window and drank his beverage. He sat and read a random book from Himchan’s bookshelf for hours until he finally got tired and decided to head home.

His walk home was boring and uninteresting as usual. When he reached his apartment complex his stomach growled and he realized he should have stopped to get something to eat since he hadn’t eaten all day. Or he should have at least stopped by the store. He sighed and headed up the stairs, it was too late now; he’ll just have a peanut butter sandwich or cup noodles when he got home.

Reaching his apartment he unlocked the door and stepped inside. He didn’t even get his second shoe off before he was almost knocked over, but luckily this person had a firm grip on his body.

Neat brown hair, crisp white shirt with the first couple buttons undone, black dress pants and black socks. No, he wasn’t dreaming, it was really Himchan.

“H-Hyung?” He questioned trying to pull his lover off of him slightly.

Himchan pulled back and Junhong’s face saddened when he realized the older man was crying. “I was upset that I got you upset and I didn’t even really apologize well so I came home early to apologize properly and ‘cause I really, really, really wanted to see you and I missed you so much and I’m really sorry, Junhong.” Himchan rambled and stopped when the tall boy wiped away his tears with the pads of his thumbs.

“It’s okay. I mean, I was upset that you couldn’t come home sooner but I wasn’t upset at you personally. But you’re here now and I’m perfectly fine with that.” Junhong toed off his other shoe and stepped inside the apartment and pulled Himchan close.

He brought their lips together tenderly and kept the kiss rather chaste because knowing them, it could lead them to the bedroom (or kitchen table, wherever was closest) quite quickly. They broke for air and smiled at each other, walking toward the bedroom hand in hand.

They stripped to their boxers and got under the covers and curled up against each other. They basked in each other’s warmth and scent and they both left kisses all over each other’s faces.

“By the way, how did you get a early flight home?” Junhong asked the question that was still unanswered.

Himchan chuckled and brought Junhong into his chest, “I told my boss that you were very ill and had no one to take care of you. He bought it pretty well since I was really panicky.”

Junhong gasped and hit his chest then looked up at him, “You lied to your boss? You’re so bad!”

“Yea, but since everyone else is still in Japan and I’m apparently taking care of my very sick boyfriend, I have until Saturday off.” Himchan smirked and kissed the crown of the boy’s head.

Five days to themselves? They could make that work.
