Foreword
I always wonder how the six of us become friends. Not just mere friends, but we call ourselves best friends. How we just seem like we stuck with each other is beyond me. We listen, comfort, and even help each other as much as we could. Being together is just becoming too comfortable for us that sometimes I have a thought of what can I do without them in my life.
I’m grateful to have them in my life. I really do. But sometimes when we gather together, I’ll look at everyone, I’ll watch them interact, and wonder, is this really a pure friendship? Is it really possible that boy and girl can be best friends without any attractions to each other?
I don't know about them, but I'm not that pure.
Our friendship is like a double-edged sword to me; because I'm in love with my best friend.
Ever since the beginning, I never wanted to be his best friend. I never wanted this friendship. I just wanted to be close to him whilst waiting. But the day I’ve been waiting for is never comes. It’s been three years and I’m still here, stuck in the same place. Not because I want to, but this friendship has tied me down and it’s already too late for me to run away.
It’s frustrating and torturing when he is right beside me all the time but I can't ever have him. We can talk about everything, we cry, we laugh, but I can’t even tell him how I feel. Even so, the time we spend together, just the two of us, always make me happy. And I start thinking that this is better than nothing.
People always yearn for something that he/she couldn’t have. I can’t agree more. The yearning and the longing will last as long as you can’t have it. You know it’s not the best for you, but it’s always on your mind. You know it will ruin your life, yet you can’t help but hoping.
Little did we know that this friendship would only lead us to heartbreaks and tears.
