Prologue

 

 

 “ he better watch his tone with our child and us “ Sir Kim growled to his wife as his black wings flapped angrily on his back as he hovered beside her.

 

“ my father is trying to understand just like yours and your mother have “ Lady Kim sighed.

 

“ Taeyeon is 8 yrs. old now , he’s had plenty of time , he still can’t handle the fact a sinner caught his angel’s attention “ Sir Kim smirked tauntingly.

 

“ don’t gloat “ Lady Kim scolded playfully as she gently hit her husbands shoulder with one of her sparkling white wings.

 

“ TaeTae was really hurt though “ she pouted.

 

“ embarrassed more like it , its bad enough having a sinner and a saint , so called forbidden parents but when your wings are publicly dejected by your grandfather when beginning training , that’s mortifying “ Sir Kim shook his head as he and Lady Kim glided up to the sinner’s kingdom and entered it.

 

Sir Kim led the way to where Taeyeon was supposed to be moping with his parents but was caught off guard when he found his father holding up a knight saint to the wall with his right arm.

 

“ My lord , what is the meaning of this? “ Sir Kim called out to his Father.

 

“ your mother is alerting everyone , they’re trying to kill Taeyeon “ Lord Kim grumbled angrily as he stabbed the angel without remorse.

 

“ wh-what ? “ Lady Kim’s eyes widened.

 

“ trying to understand by getting rid of what bonds us together the most “ Sir Kim made fists “ where is Taeyeon? “ he asked.

 

“ timid devil wanted to be alone , left a while ago , you better hurry and go before the war begins “ Lord Kim told his son.

 

“I love you but your father must go “ Sir Kim grabbed onto his wife and they swooped out of the kingdom together in a quick motion.

 

 

 “ Stop there now “ Taeyeon mumbled , repeating the words that had been yelled at her.

Taeyeon leaped over a cloud and closed her eyes “ why does he hate me so much? “

 

“ Taeyeon “ a chirpy voice called.

 

Taeyeon rolled her eyes “ are your friends still making fun of me? even mine are still making fun of me “ she looked up as the precious white winged angel landed down on the cloud with her.

 

“ I think you did amazing before he stopped you , you were going to be the first to make it “ Tiffany smiled , trying to cheer Taeyeon up.

 

“ but I wasn’t , I fell “ Taeyeon hung her head in shame.

 

“ right…. “ Tiffany stared at Taeyeon as she bit her bottom lip patiently.

 

“ why are you looking at me as if I forgot- oh “ Taeyeon let out a small laugh , her black and white wings spread out and a small box fell from them landing in the palms of her hands , in a embarrassed way she rested her wings back to hide them from view again.

 

Tiffany already had the her gift ready and gently grabbed Taeyeon’s right wrist , putting a bracelet on the latter “ I think you should be more proud about your mother and father , you shouldn’t hide who you are even if someone tries to make you so I made you this “

 

Taeyeon looked at the bracelet , one side was black and the other white , in the middle the two colors connected with a multi colored heart of the two opposing colors.

 

Tiffany crossed her arms as she let go “ you better like it “ she commanded.

 

“ I do , I like it a lot , thanks “ Taeyeon grinned and then it turned into a frown “ I was just thinking about how we share the same birth-date but were not allowed to celebrate with each other “

 

“ I know , I think I would have been happier if you were there the other day “ Tiffany nodded , agreeing.

 

“ you might not like it “ Taeyeon gave the small box to her.

 

“ that’s not possible “ Tiffany hid her blush as she opened her gift.

 

Taeyeon watched as the angel’s face lit up like a bright star “ so…”

 

“ a butterfly? How’d you get one of these? They’re so hard to catch when they fly up here from earth” Tiffany pulled out the small jar with the red butterfly that was trying to find a way out by fluttering about inside of it.

 

“ I know “ Taeyeon wore an annoyed expression “ but you wanted to have one for you and your Mom’s garden “

 

“ thank you , I really really love it “ Tiffany gave Taeyeon a hug.

 

“ always welcome “ Taeyeon returned the hug “ you know I’m feeling way better now “

 

“ good “ Tiffany pulled back a little and stared into Taeyeon’s eyes.

 

Taeyeon nervously began to lean forward as Tiffany closed her eyes.

 

“ TAETAE “

 

Taeyeon tripped backwards and fell down , startled by her mother’s voice.

 

“ two falls in a matter of time , you’re going to break a record “ Tiffany giggled and helped Taeyeon up as Sir Kim and Lady Kim landed on the cloud “ hi “ she greeted them with a smile.

 

“ Tiffany “ the greeted back before nearly smothering Taeyeon.

 

“ oh , TaeTae you’re ok “ Lady Kim and Sir Kim hugged Taeyeon tightly.

 

“ not in front of Tiffany and why wouldn’t I be? “ Taeyeon quirked an eyebrow.

 

“ we better hurry , listen… “ Sir Kim kneeled down in front of Taeyeon.

 

“ what’s going on? “ Taeyeon looked at Tiffany before facing her father.

 

“ the saints are trying to kill you “ Sir Kim informed bitterly.

 

“ honey , you just had to say it like that “ Lady Kim glared at her husband.

 

“ you’re trying to kill me? “ Taeyeon asked Tiffany who was equally shocked.

 

“ no , of course not  “ Tiffany answered without hesitation.

 

“ I should accompany her back , you going to meet up with your Father? “ Lady Kim pulled her husband up and kissed him quickly.

 

“ of course “ Sir Kim wiped the tear that was already shed.

 

They then pulled Taeyeon into another hug “ we love you so much “ they said unison.

 

“ I know “ Taeyeon whispered back.

 

“ even if were apart , you’ll still feel that love in some way “ Lady Kim smiled sadly as more tears were shed.

 

“ you have to be strong like me ok? “ Sir Kim patted Taeyeon’s head after they pulled away.

 

“ I will but what do you mean apart? “ Taeyeon was confused.

 

“ wa-wait Taeyeon- “ Tiffany didn’t get to finish as Lady Kim took off in flight while pulling her along.

 

“ man I hate the mushy crap “

 

“ HeeHee? When did you get back? “ Taeyeon smiled at her father’s brother who landed on the cloud.

 

“ you make sure you send Taeyeon safely or I’ll- “

 

“ kill me? Cut my balls off? Yeah I know the drill bro “ Heechul patted Sir Kim on the back.

 

“ you’re going to go with Uncle , he’s going to take you somewhere that they can’t find you “ Sir Kim levitated up hesitantly.

 

“ but for how long? “ Taeyeon stared up at him.

 

Sir Kim as infuriated as he was , still had to choke back tears “ I don’t know “ he had to turn away and go quickly or else he wouldn’t have been able to do it at all.

 

“ it’ll be alright “ Heechul put a hand on Taeyeon’s left shoulder.

 

“ they’re trying to kill me “ Taeyeon eyes started to well up with tears as Heechul picked her up.

 

“ so I’ve heard “ Heechul chuckled “ but we’re not going to let them “ he promised.

 

 

 “ major trauma was caused by the accident even though Yuri only sustained a broken wrist and minor concussion , its more mentally affected than that “ The doctor explained to Mr. and Mrs. Kwon.

 

 “ we understand but… “ Mr. Kwon gave a nod as he stared through the glass window at Yuri who was hugging her knees and her plush dinosaur with her head down.

 

“ how do we help our baby cope with this? “ Mrs. Kwon sniffed as she wiped her eyes with some tissue.

 

The doctor sighed “ in cases like this , you must give it some time and be very patient , see right now let’s say Yuri has what you would call a guard around herself even towards the two of you , she fears everyone and nearly everything “

“ let me in there “ Mr. Kwon demanded as he went towards the door of Yuri’s room.

 

The doctor shook his head “ I wouldn’t recommend that- “

 

“ I don’t care what you recommend , I know Yuri won’t fear me nor my wife “ Mr. Kwon stubbornly reached back and grabbed his wife’s hand pulling her to the door as well.

 

“ very well , just try not to come in quick contact with Yuri… “ The doctor signaled the nurse’s station to buzz them in to unlock the door.

 

Mrs. Kwon gave the doctor an incredulous look.

 

“ no kisses , no hugs , no nothing , this is very serious , by trying to force Yuri to greet you normally could affect her even more , her brain is very sensitive right now “ the doctor replied before Mr. and Mrs. Kwon entered the room.

 

“ Yuri ah “ Mr. Kwon called to Yuri who still sat in the corner of the room as her parents sat on the edge of her bed.

 

Yuri started to tremble a little.

 

“ Umma is so sorry this happened to you “ Mrs. Kwon apologized as her eyes welled up with tears again.

 

“ is it okay yun-yun ? “ Yuri mumbled nuzzling her dinosaur.

 

“ what Yuri ah? “ Mr. Kwon and Mrs. Kwon asked in unison.

 

“ they….weren’t there yun-yun “ Yuri spat as she began to rock.

 

“ stop mumbling to that damn dinosaur , talk with Appa and Umma now “ Mr. Kwon couldn’t help but raise his voice.

 

“ Yah “ Mrs. Kwon touched her husband’s arm.

 

Yuri flinched and started to cry “ yun-yun , I’m afraid “

 

Mr. Kwon took a deep breath “ Yuri ah please don’t be like this , I’m sorry I failed as your Appa and let you get hurt ok “

 

“ yo-your not , yun-yun was there “ Yuri muttered softly as she got up.

 

“ sweetie , Umma would really love a hug can she have one? “ Mrs. Kwon asked hopefully.

 

“ me and yun-yun want to go home now with Umma and Appa “ Yuri’s head still hung as she spoke.

 

 Mrs. Kwon sighed “ I’m sorry Yuri ah but the doctor- “

 

“ we can go home kiddo “ Mr. Kwon smiled.

 

 Mrs. Kwon turned to husband and whispered in a hush tone“ Yah the doctor said to- “

 

Mr. Kwon cut her off again “ he’s full of bull , if Yuri wants to get out of this nuthouse , I don’t blame her “ he got up.

 

 Mrs. Kwon was still on the fence “ but he said- “

 

“ Umma I love you “ Yuri had her head up , facing her mother with a smile.

 

 “ I love you too “ Mrs. Kwon returned the smile “ oh my poor baby “ she got up and hugged Yuri tightly.

 

“ less then 13 minutes , doesn’t even know what he’s talking about “ Mr. Kwon mumbled to himself.

 

Once Mrs. Kwon released Yuri , Mr. Kwon bended down so Yuri could climb his back “ let’s go ? “ he asked with his head turned back to the youngest Kwon.

 

“ nenene “ Yuri nodded happily.

 

They walked out of the room together into the hall , the doctor and two nurses were discussing something but when the doctor saw the Kwons pass the station , his jaw nearly dropped.

 

“ where are you going? Did you not listen to a word I said? “ The doctor hurried after them.

 

“ I did and it was a load of crap , if you even try to take our child from us right now , I will sue you so fast , you won’t even own the white cloak you have on now “ Mr. Kwon told him off as the doctor gestured to the security to come over.

 

“ you’re status as a lawyer does not frighten me , as a doctor I will do what’s best for my patients , especially my pediatric ones “ the doctor crossed his arms.

 

Mr. Kwon let out a chuckle “ you know there’s nothing wrong with Yuri- Yuri Yah , stop shaking “ he  adjusted his daughter on his back.

 

“ ahhhhh YURI AH “ Mrs. Kwon screamed , cupping her hands over as she noticed blood flowing from Yuri’s nose and her eyes rolling back as she shook violently.

 

Mr. Kwon immediately put Yuri down to lay and shake on the floor as he stood completely frozen as he watched helplessly.

 

“ GOING TO LISTEN TO ME NOW , MR. HIGH AND MIGHTY “ The doctor yelled at him angrily as he kneeled over Yuri “ 102 , SEIZURE , I NEED A GURNEY OVER HERE “ he then shouted to the nurses station.

 

 

1 month later…

 

 

“ Yuri ah , come on “ Mrs. Kwon grasped Yuri ‘s free hand while Yuri’s right hand held onto yun-yun who was held against her chest.

 

“ where’s Appa? “ Yuri questioned while they got out of the limo and headed toward the dark and lonely looking mansion.

 

“ oh he had to work late “ Mrs. Kwon hid her smile as she lied.

 

“ oh ok Umma “ Yuri nodded understandingly.

 

“ are you happy being out of that place now? “ Mrs. Kwon asked.

 

“ yeah cause I’m with Umma now “ Yuri grinned cheekily up at Mrs. Kwon.

 

“ don’t give me your Appa’s eyes “ Mrs. Kwon teased as they made it up to the double doors.

 

“ why is it so dark? “ Yuri asked after Mrs. Kwon let go of her hand and she hugged yun-yun tightly.

 

Mrs. Kwon shrugged and opened one of the doors letting Yuri in first before walking in behind and switching the lights on.

 

“ SURPRISE “ everyone shouted at them in excitement.

 

Yuri stumbled back into her mother “ wo-woah “ she uttered and shyly turned around to hug Mrs. Kwon.

 

“ YURI WE MISSED YOU “ IU , Sunny , Wooyoung and Sooyoung hurried forward with Mr. Kwon while the adults behind them let out a little laughter.

 

Mr. Kwon ruffled Yuri’s hair in delight as he gave his wife a peck on the lips.

 

“ Yul , what are you doing? “ Sooyoung frowned at her best friend who refused to look at them.

 

Mr. Kwon pried Yuri off Mrs. Kwon and picked her up.

 

“ Appa “ Yuri whispered in his ear.

 

“ say hi to your friends “ Mr. Kwon encouraged.

 

“ hi “ Yuri said softly as he put her back down.

 

“ hey “ the four greeted back happily.

 

“…“ Yuri looked down at yun-yun.

 

“ want some cake ? it’s the best “ Sooyoung informed Yuri.

 

“ back up Youngie , you’re scaring Yuri “ Sunny shoved Sooyoung with a scoff , Wooyoung made a crazy motion to them and whispered something causing them to giggle.

 

Yuri was becoming very uncomfortable and Mrs. Kwon noticed but when she was going to go forward to the children her husband stopped her.

 

“ its okay , Yuri can stand up for herself “ he told her.

 

“ shut up “ IU spat at her 3 friends and smiled at Yuri “ we know who’s really crazy right? “ she pointed at the 3.

 

“ Yah “ they exclaimed in unison.

 

Yuri suddenly took off in a sprint through them as fast as she could and ran passed the other adults to the sliding doors that led to the pool-house and backyard which turned into a forest.

 

“ she’s just…shy right now “ Mr. Kwon told the other adults as he hurried to go find Yuri.

 

“ do you think Yuri’s looking for aliens? “ Wooyoung whispered to IU who pushed him away.

 

“ is Yuri okay? “ IU asked Mrs. Kwon.

 

Mrs. Kwon nodded “ of course but…” she leaned down to the 4 children “ let’s not tease too much ok? “

 

“ ok “ they agreed.

 

 

 

 

“ huhuhuhu “ Yuri huffed and puffed as she leaned against a tree.

 

“ who are you? “

 

Yuri jumped back as a figure around her height came out of the bushes.

 

“ that’s okay , I know my names Taeyeon but that’s all I know so I don’t blame you if you don’t know who you are either “ Taeyeon rambled on as she looked around with a puzzled expression.

 

“ I-I’m Yuri “ Yuri let out a small laugh because of Taeyeon’s confused face for some reason she felt comfortable with Taeyeon’s presence.

 

“ Yuri? “ Taeyeon asked and then nodded “ ok Yuri , do you know where we are? “

 

“ my backyard “ Yuri told Taeyeon as she patted yun-yun.

 

“ oh ok , thanks Yuri “ Taeyeon said as she turned around.

 

“ you’re welcome “ Yuri called as Taeyeon walked away but gasped as the latter fell down.

 

“ hello? “ Yuri rushed over to her.

 

Taeyeon didn’t respond.

 

“ hey wake up “ Yuri still held yun-yun as she tried to shake Taeyeon.

 

Yuri examined Taeyeon , she had a regular pair of jeans and a white shirt , what caught her eyes was the bracelet on her wrist.

 

“ Yuri ah? “ Mr. Kwon’s voice could be heard only a few meters away.

 

“ APPA OVER HERE HURRY “ Yuri shouted back so he could here her.

 

“ I’m here Yuri-I… “ Mr. Kwon trailed off as he saw Yuri hovered over a girl about the same age.

 

“ we have to help Appa , I think she’s sick “ Yuri told him.

 

“ ok…but who is she? “ Mr. Kwon scooped the girl up into his arms.

 

“ um…uh Tae-Taeyeon , yeah Taeyeon “ Yuri exclaimed.

 

“ ok , ok calm down , we’ll help her “ Mr. Kwon assured as he carried Taeyeon while walking quickly back to the mansion.

 

 

 

“ ok , can you give me a high five? “ the nurse asked Taeyeon while holding up her hand.

 

“ a what? “ Taeyeon raised an eyebrow.

 

“ you are so cute you know that “ the nurse couldn’t help but pinch Taeyeon’s cheeks.

“ ahem “ Mr. and Mrs. Kwon cleared they’re throats while Yuri held onto their hands.

 

The nurse let go of Taeyeon’s cheeks “ well if you ask me , Taeyeon here has a case of amnesia other than the dehydration , also since we’ve contacted many missing child alerts and asked if anyone have reported such an adorable kid missing , no one has come forward so this is out of our hands “ she concluded.

 

“ what’s that mean? surely Taeyeon has parents that are worried sick “ Mrs. Kwon tilted her head.

 

“ step outside with me “ The nurse led Mr. and Mrs. Kwon out of the examination room , leaving Yuri with Taeyeon.

 

Taeyeon looked at Yuri “ my cheeks hurt “

 

“ that lady has a problem “ Yuri said.

 

“ I had a weird dream “ Taeyeon informed as she lied back and looked up at the ceilings.

 

“ about what? “ Yuri played with yun-yun as she climbed on the examination bed and sat next to Taeyeon’s form.

 

“ clouds “ Taeyeon smiled peacefully with her eyes closed “ I was jumping from one to the other , they were really soft and… “

 

“ and what? “ Yuri continued to play with yun-yun.

 

“ I don’t know “ Taeyeon shrugged.

 

Yuri pouted “ then why did you say an-an what are those ? “

 

Taeyeon opened her eyes as Yuri jumped off the bed “ what’s wrong? “

 

Yuri just pointed at her with wide eyes “…”

 

Taeyeon sat up causing Yuri’s jaw to drop before yun-yun was dropped and she fainted.

 

“ Yuri?  “ Taeyeon hopped off the bed.

 

“ we can’t take Taeyeon to an orphanage , you know how they treat kids there “ Mrs. Kwon opened the door with Mr. Kwon following.

 

“ of course we cant “ he and his wife then looked at Taeyeon.

 

“ wahh- “ Mrs. Kwon nearly let out a scream if it wasn’t for her husband who covered .

 

“ Yuri “ Taeyeon tapped Yuri ignoring Mr. and Mrs. Kwon as they gaped at her.

 

“ hmm… “ Yuri was slowly coming out of it.

 

“ is everything ok? “ the nurse asked she was going to walk back into the examination room but Mr. Kwon slammed the door.

 

“ yes , we’re fine “ He told her through it.

 

“ ok , well I’m going to give a boy a flu shot , I can sign Taeyeon out after if you don’t mind waiting “ the nurse said back to him.

 

“ no problem “ Mr. Kwon leaned his back against the door.

 

“ what do we do? “ Mrs. Kwon could only pick up her jaw off the floor and help Taeyeon wake Yuri up.

 

Yuri finally regained consciousness “ Umma , look Taeyeon has wings “

 

Mrs. Kwon nodded “ I can see that sweetie “

 

“ what? “ Taeyeon frowned and moved to the mirror in the room , seeing one black and one white wing attached to her back , fluttering slowly “ oh ok….erm can I eat again? I’m hungry “

 

 Mr. and Mrs. Kwon met each other’s eyes before chuckling together like they were crazy.

 

“ by any chance you know how to put those away? “ Mr. Kwon asked Taeyeon.

 

Taeyeon shook her head with a pout.

 

“ thought so “ Mr. Kwon sighed and took off his coat putting it over Taeyeon’s shoulders to hide her wings “ that doesn’t hurt right? “

 

“ no , can I have some more food now? “ Taeyeon looked up at him.

 

Mr. Kwon looked at Mrs. Kwon and Yuri who nodded in agreement to the silent question.

 

“ I guess we can grab something on the way home “ Mr. Kwon told Taeyeon who leaped in excitement.
