Description
Innocence can be fatal.
Lee Sungmin, aged seventeen is suddenly torn out of his sheltered life as from one day to another, his parents leave him without any words.
Heartbroken, he struggles through his new life, slowly discovering how reality is everything but the sweet images that had been planted into his mind when he was still just a child. He's scared without anyone to hold him when he would cry, yet he can't even scream for help as no one would hear his desperate pleas. He is alone, terrified, lonely.
And no one is willing to help.
As suddenly, everything changes around him, all he knows that nothing will ever be the same. Not even if he wishes for it every single night.
Foreword
School.
Sungmin had heard the word before. A place where poor kids go to learn... That was how his mother explained it to him. As a child, he clung to her every word, fascinated by how she knew everything about the world. Both inside the house, that was safe, cozy; home and outside, which was scary, dangerous. A place where the small blonde didn't belong.
Or so she has said, even just a few days ago as she ruffled the boy's hair. But there he was now, going outside alone for the umpteenth time that week. He was going to the place called school, where he should have never even set his foot.
Although he had been out in the world before, it was never alone. Let it be his parents or maids, someone was always there with him... But now, leaving his new home, he was alone.
Lonely as he had never been.
He wondered why and he wished he could turn time back... But he knew that he could never do so; and it terrified him.
