Chapter 3

Pay Me Love

Chapter 3

Leaning back against her swivel chair, Yuri couldn’t help but chuckle as she remembered what happened last night, even more as she recalls the fuming look on Jessica’s face.

It was just way beyond priceless, yet at the same time adorable, too adorable even for Yuri to admit to herself.

Shaking her head to take her mind off of Jessica, but just then, out of the corner of her mind she remembered the way Jessica called her.

Kwon Seobang. That’s what Jessica called her, Kwon Seobang, but that wasn’t just it, but how Jessica said it as her arms were wrapped around her.

She likes it, even if it was just a lie, she likes it nonetheless. Yet, she knew for herself that she shouldn’t, and she should stop now while she still can, while Jessica is still pushing—shoving her away.

“Yah!”

A loud bang against her desk, along with Sooyoung’s reverberating voice almost made Yuri jump in fright.

“What the hell?!” Yuri shot Sooyoung an accusing look as she tries to calm herself down.

“I’ve been calling you for how many times already! Are you sick or something? You’ve been chuckling and smiling to yourself, not to mention shaking your head from time to time.” Sooyoung pointed out.

Feeling embarrassed, Yuri clears as she attempts to compose herself.

“Nothing, I’m good don’t worry.”

“You sure? Cause for a moment there I thought you look like someone who’s…” Sooyoung then shook her head to get rid of her crazy thought, “…nevermind.”

“You’re being weird.” Yuri pointed out.

“Says the one laughing and smiling by herself!” Sooyoung retorted, scoffing at Yuri.

“What are you doing here in my office anyway?”

“I just wanna ask about that proposal that we presented to the Jungs, are we pushing through with it or are we scrapping it down?”

“I’m still trying to get Jessica to agree with it, so, for now; we’ll put it on hold.”

“Can you be honest with me, Yuri? Are you doing this because you still have feelings for Tiffany?”

Looking straight in Sooyoung’s eyes, Yuri spoke. “No. I don’t have any more feelings for her.”

“Good.” Sooyoung smiled, but it quickly changed into a smirk, “Then what about Jessica?”

Being caught off guard by Sooyoung’s question, a light blush appeared on Yuri’s face.

“W-what about her?”

“Do you like her?” Sooyoung probed.

“What?!” Yuri asked incredulously, the blush on her face slowly getting darker.

“I said do you LIKE her?”

Yuri then abruptly stood up from her chair, passing by Sooyoung. “You’re crazy, Sooyoung. Seriously, you’re crazy!”

“Why are you dodging the question? It’s just a yes or no answer!” Sooyoung then laughs at Yuri.

“You should be doing your work, and not asking me these crazy questions!” Yuri fumes.

“You…like…her!” Sooyoung taunts with a smug look on her face.

Yuri didn’t say anything, and just walks out of her office. Leaving Sooyoung alone and further proving the latter’s point.

“We’ll be meeting the caterer today, and I just got a call from the designer they’re asking if you want to see your dress.” Taeyeon spoke as she sat across from Tiffany, who doesn’t seem to look interested in anything Taeyeon was talking about, and just kept on flipping through the magazine in her hands.

“Yeah sure…whatever.” Tiffany shrugs as she grabs another magazine from the coffee table.

Taeyeon couldn’t help but frown due to Tiffany’s lack of interest; she knew from the start that Tiffany has no feelings for her, yet that didn’t stop her from hoping that Tiffany will one day reciprocate her feelings, now that they’re getting married.

But Tiffany’s cold responses and lack of interest on their wedding was slowly getting to her, giving her second thoughts about pushing through with the wedding considering the fact that up until now, Tiffany’s attitude towards her hasn’t change.

She loves Tiffany too much that even if it pains her, she’s willing to let her go.

“Anyway, I have to go back to the office. I’ll pick you up later.” Taeyeon stood up from her seat before approaching Tiffany to give her a kiss.

Leaning down, Taeyeon felt disappointed when Tiffany turned her face another way, obviously avoiding Taeyeon’s advances. Sighing in defeat, she tries to shrug it off, and decided to give Tiffany’s forehead a kiss instead. “I’ll see you later, I love you.”

It kills her inside hearing no response from Tiffany, leaving the Jung residence with a heavy heart, Taeyeon decided to just let it be.

Truth be told, a lot of people especially her friends have been telling her that getting married to Tiffany was a bad decision, that Tiffany was only after her money yet she wouldn’t listen, she was too blind to see the truth slapping her on the face.

Believing that she could change Tiffany, to make the latter love her and prove the people around them wrong, but she knew she was only laying to herself and still continue to do so.

“Jessica, this company couldn’t hold on any longer. Soon enough, we will have to file for bankruptcy.” Mr. Lee spoke with such distress.

“I know that, Mr. Lee.” Jessica glares at the man in front of her. “You don’t have to remind me every second of everyday of what this company is going through, I’m not blind.”

“Then why can’t you accept the proposal given to us by Yuri?” Mr. Lee asked, hoping to get Jessica to agree. “We have nothing to lose, everything’s on our favor.”

“We don’t need Kwon Yuri and her proposal!” Jessica lashed out. “We have Taeyeon to help us; as soon as Taeyeon and Tiffany get married all of our problems will go away.”

“Jessica, it’s not that simple. Taeyeon’s family still wouldn’t invest in our company let alone loan us any money, they’re no help to us, but Yuri is!” Mr. Lee insisted. “Whatever feud or problem you had with her in the past, just throw it out the window. Please, this is for the company. I know you’re prideful but we’re in a crisis, your pride will not help.”

“Since you’re praising Yuri way too much, why don’t you just quit this company and work for her. In that way, all of us will have our peace of mind.” Jessica spoke with such ferocity it made Mr. Lee quiver. “You may take your leave now, Mr. Lee.”

Letting out a long sigh, Jessica began rubbing her forehead as soon as Mr. Lee left her office. Everything was just going downhill for her ever since Kwon Yuri entered her life again.

Just then, Jessica’s phone rang. Dejectedly she answers the call without caring who the caller may be.

“Hello?”

“Hey, baby!”

Pulling the phone away from her ears, Jessica looks at her phone to know who the caller may be, only to see an unknown number.

“Who the hell is this?!”

“Yah Sicababy! That hurts you know? How could you easily forget the sound of your Kwon Seobang’s voice?” Yuri fakes a sob on the other line.

“What the hell, Kwon Yuri?!” Jessica screams. “How the hell did you get my number? And stop calling me Sicababy!”

“I got your number from your secretary, is that a problem?” Yuri asked, obviously teasing Jessica.

“Yes, it is a problem! You have no right to ask for my number!”

“Ohh…then, it was obviously a wrong move to tell her that you’re my girlfriend, huh?” Yuri asked, chuckling nervously on the other line.

“WHAT?!” Jessica fumes, yet a blush can be seen on her face.

“Anyway, where do you wanna go for lunch?” Yuri asks, dodging Jessica’s anger.

“Are you asking me out?! Well you better listen here, Kwon Yuri! I am no—”

Jessica didn’t get to finish her words when her office door suddenly opens, revealing someone she didn’t wanna see.

“Hey, Sicababy! I’m here to pick you up for lunch.” Yuri announces, earning a surprise look from the people outside Jessica’s office.

Standing up from her seat, Jessica approaches Yuri with murderous steps.

“Please get back to work.” Jessica instructed her employees with a sweet smile, before pulling Yuri inside her office.

Successfully closing the door, Jessica immediately gave Yuri a hard smack on the shoulder.

“Ouch!” Yuri exclaims before rubbing her now sore shoulder. “What was that for?”

“Why are you here?!”

“I’m picking you up for lunch.” Yuri answered.

“We both know you’re not here to pick me up for lunch! Now, why are you really here?!” Jessica raises her hand ready to smack Yuri again.

“Yah! Why are you so violent?” Yuri tries to move away from Jessica. “I really am here to pick you up for lunch! What’s wrong with me picking up my girlfriend for lunch? Is there a law now that says I can’t?”

“Yes there is, and for the last time! I am not your girlfriend!” Jessica smacks Yuri once again and ready to land another one. “And stop calling me, Sicababy!”

“If you don’t stop hitting me, I will kiss you!” Yuri threatens, while slowly approaching Jessica, who in return starts walking backwards, wanting to keep a safe distance away from Yuri until her back touches the edge of her office table.

“You wouldn’t dare!” Jessica glares at Yuri.

“Is that a challenge?” Yuri smirks, firmly placing her hands on the table, trapping Jessica in the process.

Starting to feel claustrophobic, Jessica began to panic. Being that close to Yuri was something Jessica hasn’t felt in a long time, emotions that she has buried deep inside her heart were beginning to resurface.

“I-if…you don’t move away from me, I-I swear, I’ll s-scream!” Jessica threatens, yet Yuri didn’t move away, she didn’t the opposite, pressing her body even more on Jessica, leaning her face even closer to the latter.

“Go ahead. Scream.” Yuri whispered huskily, starring straight in Jessica’s eyes.

The husky tone in Yuri’s voice has sent shivers down Jessica’s spine, swallowing the lump in , she tries to open to speak but no sound came out.

Yuri has no idea what she was doing, at the beginning all she wanted was just to ask Jessica about the proposal that she gave. How everything escalated to where they were now, was something she couldn’t explain.

Unconsciously, Yuri began to lean closer to Jessica, their noses brushing against each other.

Jessica was feeling conflicted with the sudden turn of events, just a few seconds ago she was screaming her head off and now, she couldn’t even make a sound, as her heart threatening to jump out of her rib cage, seeing Yuri lean closer.

A sudden knock from the door snaps the two back to reality, feeling burned Jessica gently pushed Yuri from her, as she slithers away to get the door.

Disappointment was evident on Yuri’s face as she watches Jessica walking away from her. It was a close call, all she had to do was lean down and she could’ve captured Jessica’s lips.

Jessica’s feelings weren’t that far off from Yuri, she was indeed disappointed yet at the same time relieved that it didn’t happened, for she knew nothing good will come out of kissing Yuri. She knows, it happened to her before, and clearly she doesn’t want to experience that again.

Opening the door, Jessica was greeted by her secretary, Sunny.

“I’m sorry to disturb you, Miss Jung but you have a board meeting in ten minutes.” Sunny informs her.

“No need to apologize, Sunny, and stop calling me, Miss Jung. Give me five minutes.”

Jessica then closes the door before walking towards her office table to grab some files, pretending that Yuri doesn’t even exist.

“So you’re giving me the cold shoulders now?” Yuri asked obviously not amused of Jessica’s action.

“Look, Yuri, just say what you really came here for. I have a lot of things to do, and you’re only getting on my way, not to mention on my nerves. Now, spit it out.”

“Have you changed your mind about my proposal?” Yuri asked, finally getting to the point what she really came for.

Jessica felt bitter; she knew Yuri has a motive coming to her. “My decision will not change, Yuri.”

“I am here to help, Jessica, nothing more, nothing less.” Yuri insisted. “Why can’t you give me a chance to prove that?”

“You don’t have to prove anything, and stop insisting on helping us!” Jessica spat with an accusing look. “We both know what you’re really after. You’re here to get your revenge on us for what Tiffany and our mother did! You really want to help? Then stop pretending that you do wanna help, and that you do care!”

Grabbing Jessica by the arm, Yuri stared straight in Jessica’s eyes. “What do you honestly want me to do, in order to prove myself that I’m not doing such a thing?”

“Stay away from me, stay away from us!”

“I can’t do that.” Yuri shook her head in disapproval.

“Then give me a damn good reason why not?”

With a frown, Yuri let go of Jessica’s arm. “I don’t…I don’t know.”

Yuri couldn’t bring herself to answer Jessica’s question, something was holding her back. Whatever it was, she doesn’t know or maybe she knew, feeling afraid to name it.

“Is it because of Tiffany?” Jessica forced herself to ask, feeling afraid of what Yuri’s answer may be.

Yuri didn’t get the chance to answer Jessica’s question, when someone knocks at the door before it swung open.

“Jessica, the meeting’s about to start.” Sunny informs Jessica, avoiding looking at the two, sensing the tension between them.

“I’ll be right there.” Jessica gave Sunny a smile before glancing at Yuri. “And Sunny, please Yuri out.”

“Don’t bother, I know my way out.” Yuri then leans closer to Jessica. “No matter what you say, I’m not going to stay away; I’m not going to stay away from you, Jessica. I’m not going anywhere.”

Giving a chaste kiss on Jessica’s cheek, Yuri bids her farewell, leaving Jessica blushing and even more confuse than before due to her actions.

Crappy Update!

The more I write, the crappier it becomes. How frustrating!

I did say that this is only a multi-shot, yes? no? And have I mentioned that this will have, like, two or three endings cause i couldn't decide which one I want most? All of them will be happy ending though, such a shame actually.

Anyway, like what i always say...do leave a comment and upvote if you like the story. Until next time, whenever that may be.

The fluff is hidden somewhere...out there....or something.

Like this story? Give it an Upvote!
Thank you!
