A Prom-ising Night

Last In-School Moment

It was the end of the final year for the seniors of SM High. In a week, the prom was going to be held in their school gym. Everyone was busy.  It was either buying their dresses or renting suits. Speaking of busy, many of the student council members have been staying back for the past weeks due to the preparations. Of course, everything was alright and ready to go, but a certain red-head, who was also the student council president, was getting paranoid.

“Is everything okay? What’s missing from the list? How about the balloons at the end of the event?”

“Unnies, the budget is okay!” Seo Juhyun or Seohyun, the treasurer who was two years younger than them but is a junior, said.

“Come on, Tiffany. We’ve checked everything. As Seohyun said, the budget is okay, and I made sure the balloons are ready. It’s still a week away. Don’t worry.” The joyful and bubbly vice-president, Lee Sunny, reassured.

“Sorry, guys. It’s just everything should be perfect. This is our last year of high school and we’re all going to be separated for college. I want everyone to have a great time.” Tiffany Hwang said, finally calming down.”

“Okay, pushing this stressing talk about preparations, have you guys picked up your dresses yet?” The playful secretary, Kwon Yuri, asked.

“Oh, I’m coming in-”

“We all know you’re wearing pink, Tiffany.” Yuri said knowingly while waving her hand.

“I’m not wearing pink this time. Anyway, shouldn’t you ask about the dates first?” Tiffany asked while pouting.

“We don’t have to ask that anymore, Prez. Everyone in the whole school knows that Yuri is dating a junior in Seohyun’s class.” Kim Hyoyeon, one of the class representatives, said. They watched Yuri daydream for a bit. In no later than seven seconds, they saw Yuri making kissing faces. Everyone broke out in laughter while Tiffany sighed. She walked over to Yuri with a paper and brought it to Yuri’s face so it stuck to her face. That was when she turned her back and started laughing, too.

“Hey! What the heck?” Yuri exclaimed as she removed the paper. She immediately crumpled it, with her cheeks red. This made Sunny wonder.

“Oh? What is with the expression?” Sunny asked. Yuri hid the paper behind her.

“No, it’s nothing.” Yuri said, putting the crumpled paper behind her. Then, she felt it snatched from her back.

“A kiss mark? Did you put too much lipstick for Yoona again?” At that, Yuri turned to see one of the disciplinary officers, Choi Sooyoung, holding the paper on one hand and a bag of chips on the other hand.

“Ah, Soo!” Yuri exclaimed as she stood up and tried taking the paper from Sooyoung but the other members of the student council already saw it. A bright kiss mark was on the paper. They burst in laughter once again. Tiffany laughed as well but she realized something.

“Wait. Soo, why are you here? Shouldn’t you be patrolling?” Tiffany asked.

“Hm? Oh, I was going to go to the restroom for a bit. Then, I passed through a convenience store so I bought some snacks. And-”

“Then who’s patrolling?”

“Don’t worry. I’m sure everything is fine.” Sooyoung reassured as she opened the bag of chips and started munching. Tiffany sat back behind her desk and ran her eyes along the checklist again.

“Oh, and the photographer?”

“I already told you. I got it covered, Tiffany?” Sunny said.

“How much did it cost?” Tiffany asked.

“I asked a friend of mine in this school to do it for me. She’s a senior as well.”

“You didn’t use your aegyo to get her to agree right?” Yuri asked, with a scrunched up look on her face.

“Hehe… maybe?”

“Oh, then send my thanks, okay? By the way, who is she?”

“Well… she’s-” The classroom door slid open.

“Uh… hi.” A short girl stood by the door.

“Taeyeon! What brings you here?” Sunny enthusiastically welcomed. Suddenly, Hyoyeon took Sooyoung’s snacks.

“No eating allowed in the student council room.”

“Eh?! No~” Sooyoung and Hyoyeon started arguing in the background. Yuri was looking at her phone. Tiffany and Seohyun greeted Taeyeon as well. Kim Taeyeon was one of the famous students in the school. She got along with everyone and was considered a role model. She was very reliable and can be playful, too.

“Well, we wanted to visit and see you guys planning. Just to provide some moral support.” Taeyeon said, still not entering. She seems to be holding someone since she seemed to be struggling with something. The three, who were now watching, raised brows at each other.

“Please come in.” Tiffany said, completely missing something.

“We?” Sunny asked. At that, Taeyeon entered with a familiar trouble maker.

“Jessica!” Sunny said with a surprised but cheerful tone. The girl, Jessica Jung, just raised hand, looking nonchalantly around the room. She was considered a disappointing genius. She was very smart but was rumored to often get into fights and would cut class. She was the school’s delinquent and her attendance record is very low. But she was also one of Taeyeon’s closest friends, which only added to her fame and reputation.

At a second, Jessica and Tiffany’s eyes met but Jessica broke it right away before facing the outside. When she made the move to go out, Taeyeon held onto her.

“Jessica, wait for a bit!” Taeyeon said, grabbing onto Jessica’s arm.

“I already brought you here. Ask her already. I’m going.” Jessica said coldly as she shook her arm out of Taeyeon’s hold.

“Ah, wait. You promised that you’ll wait until I asked.” Taeyeon whined, stopping Jessica in her tracks. Seconds passed by and Jessica still stood still from her place, not facing anyone.

“Ask. Or I’m really going to leave.” Jessica repeated coldly. Everyone could feel the coldness of the atmosphere, the official student council members and Taeyeon shivered lightly for they know the delinquent so well.

“Ok. Sorry, Tiffany but I have to make it quick.” Taeyeon said shyly. The other listened intently.

“Would you please go with me to the dance?” Tiffany smiled, as she was happy that Taeyeon asked her to the dance.

“Of course.” She said, nodding, a bit confused before looking at Sunny. Her gaze was torn from Sunny when she heard Jessica exit the room, her heart dropped and her smile fell. She could hear the delinquent’s footsteps going away.

“Ah, Jessica, wait! Thank you, Tiffany. I’m going now.” Taeyeon said, bowing first, and then following the delinquent outside. The door slid close and silence engulfed the room. Yuri coughed to get rid of the silence. Tiffany looked at her and saw her holding her phone up.

“I have to go meet with Yoona now so… I’ll be off.” Yuri said as she packed up her stuff and headed for the door.

“I’ll do the music so that should check the last box on your list, President Hwang.” Yuri jokingly said as she exited. Tiffany looked at her list and saw that the photographer and the dj were still not checked. She checked the dj box. And she began to doze off.

“Tiffany.” She looked up to see Sunny calling her.

“Are you okay? Everyone else went off.” Sunny said.

“Oh, we should go too.” Tiffany said as she started gathering her stuff. She saw the paper and the last box still remained unchecked.

“Who was the photographer again?”

“Oh, that… It’s Jessica.” At that, Tiffany paused in her actions, carefully registering the words in her head. Once again, Tiffany began blanking off. Sunny saw this and sighed. She walked over to the stunned president and started assisting the girl outside. She made sure everything was okay before locking the doors.

“Ah!” She jumped to see Tiffany looking all confused.

“What’s wrong?” Sunny asked worriedly.

“How did I get out here?” Tiffany asked in return, making Sunny stare at her in amusement before laughing.

“Aish… It’s not that funny!” Tiffany said to make Sunny stop laughing. The girl went on for a bit more though, much to her embarrassment. When Sunny finally stopped, they walked in silence.

“… Congratulations.” Sunny said before going another way. Tiffany stood there, in the intersection, as she watched Sunny go the other direction.

“… What happened?” She said, almost with the same tone Sunny had.

Tuesday, afterschool

“Ms. Hwang! You’ve got to help me.” Mr. Lee, Sunny’s uncle and the SM High’s principal, stood before Tiffany. The girl could only look in surprise and disbelief. She saw Jessica behind him, looking as if she doesn’t know what the problem was.

“What’s wrong, Mr. Lee?” She asked, unsure of what was happening, although she has a bad feeling about this.

“These next two days are the last day of your senior year and there is bound to be trouble.” Mr. Lee looked up and saw that Tiffany had a crazily worried look in her face. He noticed Jessica who had a small smile on her face. When she noticed that he saw it, she immediately turned her back from them.

“Not for you! I mean, for Ms. Jung here.” At that, Tiffany’s worried look changed into a different one but still worried. Mr. Lee saw that Tiffany didn’t notice Jessica’s reaction a while go.

“What seems to be the problem?” She asked calmly. Mr. Lee clasped his hands together.

“I want you to make sure that Ms. Jung doesn’t get into trouble for the next couple of days. It’s Tuesday, and you only have to watch her until Thursday. Friday is the prom day and Saturday, you guys graduate so please.”

“Ya! I don’t need her to take care of me. I already told you that I would try my best to not get into any fights this week so-”

“No can do. You said that last year and you got involved with the gangs from the other school right? With Ms. Hwang here, I would like to see you try. Well, good luck, Ms. Hwang.” Mr. Lee said before waving at Tiffany and leaving. The two students stood there, still not believing that their principal just left them there. Jessica looked at Tiffany who still seemed frozen. She silently moved away but she was stopped by a hand on her arm.

“Jessica, where are you going? I’m supposed to watch you.” Jessica didn’t like how those words were worded.

“What? He just told you to make sure I won’t get in trouble. I won’t, okay? So leave me alone.” She answered back, hoping Tiffany would leave her, but silently knowing that she won’t.

“I have to be with you no matter what.” Tiffany said with determination, still holding Jessica’s arm. Jessica looked at the president’s hand on her arm. She heard Tiffany sigh.

“Come on, help me here.” Tiffany said as she tugged Jessica’s arm lightly.

“Just leave me alone.” Jessica started walking away again.

“How about for one day? Out of those two days, spend it with me for only one day. Then I promise not to monitor you.” Tiffany said. She let go of Jessica’s arm and held her hand out. Jessica looked at her, then her hand, and back at her. She seemed to consider the offer. Tiffany was about to smile.

“No, thanks.” This answer brought a frown on Tiffany’s face.

“Oh, come on~!” Tiffany whined. She didn’t notice that Jessica was trying hard to resist her right now, her face very red. Jessica was about to run far from Tiffany, she was immediately stopped by pressure on her arm. Tiffany was holding on tightly.

“You give me no choice. I have to follow you all around from now on.”

“Let go!” Jessica continued arguing while Tiffany still hung on.

“No~”

The two were preoccupied, one was running away while the other was following, that they didn’t notice someone looking at them from a window, hand on one cheek, leaning on the window sill.

The next day, Wednesday, afterschool

“So tell us again why she’s here.” Yuri requested while Tiffany sighed, having repeated the story twice now. Jessica just sat facing the window. It looked like she was dozing off.

“My uncle wanted Tiffany to watch Jessica for the next couple of days. You know, she gets in trouble a lot and he wants to see her graduate without any band aids or bandages.”

“Thanks, Sunny.”

“No problem, Tiffany.” Sunny gave her a smile. There was a knock on the door.

“Come in.” The door slid open to reveal a doe eyed junior student.

“Um… I’m looking for Yuri sunbae-”

“Yoong!” Yuri dashed to hug Im Yoona.

“Sunbae!” Yoona exclaimed at the sudden contact.

“Well, Tiffany. That’s my cue. She’s here to pick me up. We’re going out today so see you on prom night.” Yuri said as she went out the room.

“See you on prom night, sunbaes, Seohyun.” Yoona said politely before leaving. Seohyun waved and turned back to her work while Sooyoung started drinking water.

“Must be nice to be dating.” Hyoyeon commented. Sooyoung, who was drinking some water, did a small spit take and started coughing.

“Unnie!” Seohyun exclaimed.

“Ya! Are you okay?” Tiffany asked immediately as Hyoyeon rubbed Sooyoung’s back.

“I’m okay. It just went down the wrong pipe.” Sooyoung coughed a little bit more.

“Hey, Tiffany unnie. Is it possible to end today’s meeting early?” Seohyun asked.

“Well, it’s okay but… may I ask why?”

“I have to return some books to the library. Today was the last day so…”

“It’s okay, Seohyun. You may go now.” Tiffany waved as Seohyun exited the room. She looked at Sooyoung and Hyoyeon.

“I’m assuming you guys have plans too?” She asked. The two nodded sheepishly.

“Go ahead. See you on prom night.” With that, Sooyoung and Hyoyeon went home as well.

“Is that my cue to go too?” Sunny asked jokingly. Tiffany laughed a little and nodded her head.

“You could go but if you want to stay, I won’t mind.”

“No, it’s okay. I’m going to go. See you tomorrow.” Sunny said as she started packing up her stuff.

“Tomorrow?”

“Well, it’s the last meeting we’ll have so I’ll help you tidy up the room.” When she was done, she turned back to Tiffany.

“You know what I don’t get…” Sunny started. Tiffany looked at her.

“What?”

“Why uncle didn’t ask me instead.  Jessica and I practically go home every day. You two don’t live in the same neighborhood right?” Sunny added. Tiffany was silent and Sunny mentally thought that this was something she shouldn’t be talking about.

“Do you need help waking her up?” Sunny asked.

“No. It takes forever to wake her up. You can go ahead.” Tiffany said before turning to Jessica. She stood there for a bit before she shrugged and left the two in the room.

Tiffany let out a deep breath before she approached the sleeping delinquent. She looked at her wrist watch before starting.

“Jessica.” She called out in her normal voice. As expected the girl didn’t even stir. She allowed a smile to grace her face, slightly having fun with the current task, forgetting Sunny’s inquire.

“Jessica Jung.” She tried the girl’s full name. Still nothing.

“Just like old times right?” Tiffany whispered to the sleeping girl.

She sat on the table that Jessica’s chair was slightly leaning on so she was just beside her. She looked out the window and felt the cool breeze coming in, accompanied by the sunset hour. The skies were painted orange from the sun as it prepares to set. She watched as the orange beams hit Jessica’s stature, engulfing it in a comforting shade. It made the girl look so serene and beautiful that Tiffany couldn’t help but watch.

She didn’t know how long she watched Jessica sleep. Her blonde hair waving slightly, her uniform lightly rustling from the breeze, her smooth and light skin looking majestic like silk, her lips slightly parted…

“Eh?!” Tiffany suddenly exclaimed. Her lips…  She was looking at Jessica lips and a blush formed on her cheeks. She used her hand to move her hair to the back of her ear and she slowly leaned.

“Jessi…” She whispered inaudibly. At that moment, Jessica’s eyes slowly fluttered open. Tiffany froze from her position and blushed so much that her prom dress would not compare. She immediately moved away and turned her back towards Jessica, getting off the table. She looked back at Jessica and it seemed as the girl was in a trance.

Oh, she’s still half-asleep. She sighed. Wait! Am I sighing because she didn’t catch me or… is it because I didn’t… She touched her lips as her thoughts drifted further. She shook her thoughts away before turning to Jessica.

“It’s time to go home. Come on.” Jessica finally looked at her sleepily before rubbing the sleep off her eyes. Tiffany’s heart beat faster at the cute moment. She turned from the girl as the girl yawned.

“Hm? What’s wrong with you?” Jessica asked, finding Tiffany rather odd at the moment.

“It’s nothing. Come on. Let’s go home.” Tiffany said, hurrying out of the room and closing the door.

“Hey, I thought you were supposed to watch me.” Jessica said. In a few seconds, the door opened again and Tiffany peeked in. Then the girl looked away.

She’s so strange. Jessica didn’t know why Tiffany was being that way but she shrugged it off. She went out the room and shut it. Tiffany waited outside as she started walking. Jessica paused and saw the other still standing at one spot.

“Well, are you coming or not?” She asked. It seemed to snap Tiffany’s trance and made the girl look at her. When their eyes met, Tiffany looked down. This caused Jessica’s brow to rise. She walked back to Tiffany and held her wrist.

“Let’s go.” She said as she pulled Tiffany with her.

What’s wrong with her? Did I do something? Jessica thought to herself. On the contrary, Tiffany’s mind was thinking something else.

Her lips… now her hand is…! How gentle… This was going on Tiffany’s head. This went on even when they got out of the school. It was a silent walk and it was a good thing that Jessica didn’t mind the quietness. She looked around the neighborhood they were at.

Jessica let out a sigh. It’s been so long since they both walked here together. She stopped at a familiar house before letting go of Tiffany’s wrist.

“Hey, we’re here.” There was no reply. Jessica looked at Tiffany who seems to be lost in her own world.

“Hey. Tiffany, I brought you home.” She waved her hand before the girl but it didn’t work.

“Tiff!” She called loud. She was shocked to see Tiffany looking straight at her. She suddenly felt uncomfortable because of the way Tiffany was looking at her.

“You’re home.” Jessica said, looking anywhere but Tiffany. She stole a glance and found the girl looking at her house.

“Oh, thank you.” Tiffany had a surprised look in her face. She looked around and she mused around, remembering the past. Without a word, Jessica turned from her and went to the house next door, disappearing inside. Tiffany couldn’t help but giggle. There are still things that didn’t change.

Thursday, afterschool

“I totally forgot!” Tiffany’s loud voice echoed the empty halls.

“What is it?” Sunny asked while Jessica seemed to not care but was listening.

“Sunny, you can dance right?” Tiffany suddenly asked.

“Yes, I can but what does that have to do with- oh? Tiffany, you don’t know how to dance?” Sunny asked.

“Not exactly…”

“She can dance if there was choreography. She doesn’t always have the confidence to just let the dance come to her naturally.” Jessica suddenly said, still looking out the window. Sunny frowned.

“Okay. I must have missed something. Did you guys know each other aside from school? And don’t try to lie to me. I have a couple of questions.” Sunny said.

“Other than the fact that we are neighbors, we used to be childhood friends.” Jessica said.

“So that’s how you know that Jessica is a heavy sleeper. And you, you know that Tiffany can’t dance. Hm… And how come I wasn’t informed about this?”

“One, it’s not your business. And two, because it was irrelevant.” Sunny frowned at the answer. She turned to Tiffany.

“When we started high school, we kind of drifted away from each other. I got preoccupied with school duties. I don’t know exactly how she got involved in the fighting though.” They heard Jessica scoff and saw her stand up.

“Okay, there’s no reason for you to leave. It’s the last day that you two will be together right? Come on, Jessica.” Sunny said as she pushed Jessica back in the chair.

“I will help Tiffany with any of the dance she needs. In the meantime, you can just watch.” Sunny commented as she took out her mp3 player. Jessica turned her attention back to the scenery outside the window.

“Let’s start. So what do you need help with?” Sunny said, browsing through her playlist.

“Actually, I only have problems with the slow dances.” Tiffany said right away. Sunny showed her a grin.

“Rather cliché, don’t you think Tiffany?”

“I can’t really help it. I never danced like that before.” Tiffany said, looking down.

“I can’t help you with that.” Sunny said. Tiffany looked up at her.

“Eh? Why?”

“Jessica can though.”

“What?!” Jessica and Tiffany both exclaimed. They looked at each other for a moment and turned away.

“Aww, you guys said it at the same time. But Jessica can do a better job at that. I was taking lessons from her two weeks ago.” Sunny said. She set her mp3 player down.

“I’m leaving it with you guys. Take care of it.” She said as she swung her bag over her shoulder and left.  Silence engulfed the room. Tiffany broke it.

“You don’t have to teach me. I’ll just finish cleaning up.” Tiffany said a she finished the cleaning up. She didn’t notice Jessica as the girl took the mp3 player and browse through the music.

Sunny continued walking the hallways. As she was about to pass the infirmary, the door opened and she was pulled in. She was about to scream but a hand covered to prevent her. She started fighting her way from the hold.

“Calm down…” Sunny froze at the voice. She calmed down and soon the hand covering removed itself.

“Geez, I didn’t think you would still be fidgety even after all this time.”

“What do you want now?” An unusual hostility was found deep in her voice.

“Why are you mad at me? I don’t remember doing any wrong.”

“That’s just it. You don’t remember which means nothing is wrong. Why are you talking to me about this?” Sunny said sharply.

“What exactly is ‘this’?” The girl before her asked. Sunny sighed.

“Just leave me alone Taeyeon.” Sunny said, making her way for the door. Taeyeon wasn’t finished though. As Sunny was about to open the door, she placed her hand firmly on the door so Sunny won’t be able to get out. She heard Sunny sigh.

“I don’t get why you’re acting this way. I was the one that got rejected right? Why are you acting like you’re the one who was turned away from?” Taeyeon asked. Sunny shook her head.

“Please move.”

“No. Answer me. Why are you acting this way? You rejected me.” Taeyeon asked again.

“That’s just it. I never rejected you!” Sunny shouted back. This surprised Taeyeon. Realizing what she had just said, Sunny covered .

“What?” Taeyeon didn’t understand. She held onto Sunny’s wrists.

“Wait. What did you mean by that? You didn’t reject my confession? But I saw you with Jes-”

“She was teaching me how to slow dance. I even stepped on her feet a couple of times.”

“But you two seemed to be having so fun.”

“She was laughing at me. Why wouldn’t I laugh too? If I had asked you, you would have laughed at me too.” Sunny said. Taeyeon opened but closed it. Sunny was right. She would indeed let out a chuckle or two if they did have their dance session. Even if Sunny was stepping on her foot for a couple of times, she would still go on the lesson until its perfect. She got lost in her thoughts. Sunny sighed.

“Now leave me alone.” Sunny said as she left Taeyeon in the room. Taeyeon snapped out of it and immediately went out to follow Sunny.

“Wait! Then why are you angry with me?” She asked but Sunny was gone by then. She ran her hand through her hair, feeling a bit frustrated.

“Let’s see…” Tiffany turned at Jessica’s words and jumped when she found Jessica right behind her. So close…

“Since you’re taller, it makes sense if you led the dance right?” Tiffany nodded, and then shook her head.

“I don’t know how to dance.”

“I know that already. I’ll lead you once so come closer. After this, we’ll try it with you leading.” Jessica said, motioning for her to come near. When she was near enough, Jessica started the lesson.

“Since it’s just for today, I have to make it quick so you can get home. Now, do you want it the classic or modern?” Jessica asked.

“The classic?”

“Like the ballroom is with the one leading as the ‘man’. Modern is just having arms around each other.”

“Oh. We could do that. But since I don’t really know if I’m the ‘man’ or not, can you also teach me the modern one?”

“Okay. Let’s start with the modern. I’ll lead. Put your arms on my shoulder.” Jessica guided her to the right position since Tiffany seemed unsure. She placed her hands by Tiffany’s waist. She felt Tiffany stiffen a bit so she started the dance right away.

“Okay. Let’s start. 1, 2, 3. 1, 2, 3.” They started moving around, a random slow song playing in the background. Occasionally, Tiffany would step on Jessica’s feet but the girl continued.

“In a performance, especially a dance, if you make a mistake, you still continue. You don’t stop. Others won’t know you made a mistake if you continued.” Jessica said, now focused on the lesson. Tiffany whispered a ‘sorry’ and continued dancing. In a bit, Tiffany stopped stepping on Jessica’s feet. She hugged Jessica as they swayed slowly to the music. It was Jessica that stiffened this time.

“Okay. This is enough. Let’s do the classic one now.” Jessica said pulling away. Tiffany frowned a bit but Jessica didn’t see it since she was looking down.

“Okay, now put your right hand on my shoulder.” Jessica guided and Tiffany followed. She placed her left hand on Tiffany’s waist as she held Tiffany’s left hand with her right. A song played.

“Ready?”

The song started fast and Tiffany struggled a bit. They were out of sync.

“Wait, the song is a bit fast don’t you think?”

“Just let me lead.”

Tiffany tried her best to keep up but she wasn’t use to it at all. Jessica noticed this so she brought Tiffany closer to her. The distance between them was smaller than before.

“Jessica!”

“Just relax.” Jessica whispered to Tiffany over the music. They started becoming in sync. Tiffany was starting to match Jessica’s moves. In no time, they were perfect. The song ended and Jessica stopped.

“It’s late. Let’s go home.” She said before looking down and pulling away. Tiffany missed the contact but she didn’t say anything. Before they left, Tiffany made sure to take the mp3 player with her.

“Hey… how did you get into the fights anyway?” Tiffany asked. Jessica didn’t answer right away.

“They were just rumors. But I only got into a fight once.” She said before turning to the park. Tiffany didn’t say anything but followed.

They stopped at a tree on one side of the park. Tiffany saw a puppy.

“Aww! So cute.” Tiffany exclaimed as the puppy looked at her.

“He doesn’t have an owner and I come and feed him once in a while. One day, I skipped class to check up on him and there was a guy who was throwing stones at him. I kind of punch him and well, he lost consciousness. Later that day, I found out that he was the strongest from one of the schools around. It was then that he started following me around and calling me ‘teacher’.” Jessica explained. Tiffany nodded, listening while patting the dog’s head.

“Hey, can I take him home?” Tiffany suddenly asked. Jessica looked at her.

“Go ahead. I wasn’t sure if I should take him but if it’s you, then I guess it’s okay.” Jessica said as she untied the dog from the tree. The puppy jumped towards Tiffany, her hand.

“That tickles.” Tiffany giggled.

They headed home. And with that, Tiffany got a new puppy.

“Ah, Jessica, wait for a bit.” Tiffany said as she entered her house. In a bit, she came out without the dog but she had something in her hand.

“Here.” Tiffany handed her a corsage.

“What is this for?” Jessica asked.

“For the dance, silly.” Tiffany watched Jessica look at it for a bit. She became confused when Jessica gave it back to her.

“I’m not going.”

“Why? It’s our last day as seniors.” Tiffany asked.

“I’m not one to go to things like that. If I go, I won’t be dancing anyway. I’ll just be bored.” Jessica said as she started heading for her own house.

“But you dance so well and you’re popular in school too. Anyone would love to dance with you.”

“Sorry, Tiffany. I’m not going.” She said, followed by her house’s door shutting. Tiffany stood there for a bit.

“And I was looking forward to dancing with you again…” Tiffany whispered before going in her own house, the corsage still in her hand.

She went up to her room and dropped her bag. She landed on her bed, tired. She looked up at the ceiling and remembered Jessica again. She closed her eyes and her hands automatically reached for her pillow. She rolled on her stomach and buried her face in the pillow, letting out her frustration with a muffled scream.

Why is she being so… Argh! She’s so frustrating… but… Jessica… Tiffany raised her head from the pillow with a blush that adorned her cheeks. In a few minutes, she sat up and her gaze fell upon her checklist on her desk. Suddenly realizing something, she ran to it, tripping because of her blanket but managing to snatch the paper. Her eyes ran through the list and she smiled. She looks at the corsage again before thinking of Jessica once more.

See you tomorrow, Jessi. At that, she called Taeyeon.

“Yeoboseyo?”

“Tae! I need your help with something. Can you open a video chat?”

“… Okay. What do you need help with?”

“First of all, I’ll call Yuri.”

“Okay.” After a few seconds, Tiffany dialed Yuri.

“Yeoboseyo?”

“Yuri! Can you video chat right now?”

“Yeah. Wait for a bit.” Tiffany hanged up and sat before her laptop. In a few seconds, two windows opened.

“So what do you need?” Taeyeon asked.

“Is Taeyeon here too?” Yuri asked. Tiffany nodded before grabbing a mirror. Yuri saw Taeyeon in the screen and waved.

“Taeyeon!”

“Yuri!” Tiffany laughed at their display.

“Okay. What is it?”

“Can you guys help me with something?”

“Sure.” Taeyeon and Yuri answered.

Friday, Prom night

Everything was beautiful. The balloons and the banners decorated the room. Shining stars hung from the ceiling but were unnoticed due to their current position. There was a rope that held all the stars in place. It was to be cut and the stars would fall to be in one’s view.

Outside the gym, there was the camera with Sunny setting it up. Yuri and Seohyun were welcoming the other seniors. Hyoyeon was taking care of the food and drinks, occasionally reprimanding Sooyoung about eating the food.

Sunny was wearing a lavender dress that layered just around her legs. There was a thin material that acted as the strap of the dress on her shoulder, hiding the real thin strap underneath. The dress showed just the right parts without revealing anything, accentuating the heels she was wearing. Her brown locks were down, resting on her shoulder.

Yuri was wearing a black dress with a silver belt buckle in front. The dress made her look slim and tall, given her short heels, and ended just a little before her knees. It covered her shoulder and its sleeves covered until about her forearm. Her dark brown hair had lighter color from middle to the end tips, long enough to reach the buckle.

Hyoyeon was also wearing black but it was simpler. It was strapless so she wore a black vest on top of it. Her hair was a lighter shade of brown. Sooyoung was wearing a blue dress. It ended little just over her knees. It had a thin material that covered the shoulder and the chest area. Her hair was tied but it rested on her left shoulder.

Seohyun, who stood next to Yuri, was wearing a long dark violet dress that pooled a bit at her feet. It had a lighter shade by the torso which was shined from the light. She had her hair down, length a bit longer than Yuri’s. Everyone had their corsages.

“Sunbae! Seohyun!” Yuri and Seohyun both saw Yoona who wore a white dress. The neck part and her collarbone covered by the dress’s white material. She didn’t wear heels so she looked a bit shorter than Yuri. Her hair was fixed in a bun, with a flower barrette.

“Yoona. You look very beautiful tonight.” Yuri said, looking straight at Yoona. Yoona blushed while Seohyun nodded.

“Seohyun!” A male voice called out to them.

“Oh? If it isn’t Yonghwa.” Yuri said as the guy waved at them. Seohyun looked at Yuri first.

“Go ahead.” Yuri said before Seohyun went over to Yonghwa.

“I expect her to be home before twelve!” She said jokingly as the two gave a nod and went to the gym.

“I’ll see you later, Yoong. The dance is starting soon. I’m in charge of the music.” Yuri said but was stopped when Yoona held onto her hand.

“Sunbae, can I come with you?” Yoona asked, looking very cute. Yuri’s heart skipped a bit.

“Of course!” She said enthusiastically.

“Aigoo… you should never sound so excited like that.” Sunny commented, looking at the two as she finished setting the camera.

“There’s nothing wrong with having fun once in a while.” Taeyeon entered the doors. She was wearing orange dress that made her look like a goddess. It folds at the right places and cascaded down to just a little above her knees. Her hair was blonde and it came down on her back. She wore heels so she was still a little taller than Sunny.

“Taeyeon, nice outfit!” Yuri praised.

“Of course. I can’t come here in jeans when I have a ray of sunshine shining down on me.” Taeyeon said, trying to be as subtle as ever. Sunny didn’t show but she was fighting a blush on her face, aware what Taeyeon just implied.

Yuri seemed to have caught on it. She looked at Sunny and Taeyeon before leaving with Yoona to the gym.

“Yoong, let’s enjoy ourselves tonight.” Yuri said as the two of them walked in the gym while Yoona nodding with a smile.

In a few moments, music started playing and the seniors started gathering there. Taeyeon and Sunny stood there as more students came in the school.

“Can we talk now?”

Sunny was ignoring her. Taeyeon knew that, but she just had to try.

“Sunny.” She called again, more firmly this time. Still nothing. Fine. If that’s how you’re going to be. She thought.

“Lee Soon-kyu.” Taeyeon didn’t even say it loud but it clearly affected Sunny. She laughed to see Sunny looking at her, her nose wrinkled for a bit before switching to her tongue poking her cheek.

“I told you not to say my name. It sounds old fashioned.” Sunny started hitting her arm lightly.

“Why? It’s your name so I like it.” Taeyeon didn’t miss the blush on Sunny’s face.

“Will you finally talk to me?” Taeyeon asked. Sunny seemed to think about it very carefully but Sunny didn’t get to say anything when something pink came in their view.

“Finally! I made it.” They turned to see Tiffany in a layered red dress.  It ended just before her knees and was paired with…

“Tiffany. Are you sure you’re ready? You’re wearing flats.” Sunny pointed out.

“I know. I wore flats on purpose.”  Sunny was about to ask another question but Tiffany beat her to it.

“You might need some heels since you want to be the taller one tonight, right?”

“What are you talking about? I’ve always been the taller one.”

“Yeah. Like a centimeter. I’m making her wear heels tonight. Anyway, I’ll ask a friend of mine to get a pair for you from my car.”

“Thanks. Is Jessica here yet?”

“Not yet. The session doesn’t start for thirty more minutes.” Sunny answered, a bit confused.

“Good. Where is Yuri?”

“She’s with Yoona in the gym. She started a little bit before you came.”

“Perfect. I’ll get ready, okay?” Tiffany said before vanishing in the gym. Taeyeon smiled while Sunny felt left out.

“What’s going on?” Sunny asked Taeyeon. The girl turned to her with a sly look.

“Only if you tell me what I did wrong and we talk about it.” Sunny internally scolded herself. Is it worth it? She thought to herself. She sighed before looking back at Taeyeon who waited patiently.

“No thanks. I’m going to know later anyway.” She said before leaving Taeyeon, who was upset that she didn’t take the deal. Taeyeon sighed just at the second Jessica entered the school.

“Oh? What are you doing here alone?” Jessica’s question caused Taeyeon to look up.

“I messed up.” That was all Taeyeon said before she took her phone out and proceeded to text. When she finished, she took time to look at Jessica.

“What are you wearing?”

“I’m only taking the photos so I didn’t wear anything special.” Jessica wore a cobalt blue sleeveless blouse over black jeans and flats. She had a bag slung over her form which Taeyeon assumed was where the camera will be placed after the prom.

“I am not taking this. No way. If I can’t have a good evening, Tiffany will!” She said before dragging a confused Jessica out to the front. She stopped at her car and opened the trunk. She took what she needed and pushed them to Jessica.

“What is this?” Jessica asked.

“Change into this. You’re not doing the photos anymore. A sophomore is doing the shots.” Suddenly, a short kid appeared next to Taeyeon. Jessica looked at her and back at Taeyeon.

“Are you sure she’s a sophomore?” Jessica asked.

“Ya! You’re short too!” Taeyeon argued.

“It’s okay, sunbae. I get that a lot.” The kid just laughed.

“I’m Jae Shin. See you later sunbaes.” The kid introduced herself with a bow before going on ahead inside the school.

“Wait!” Jessica tried calling but Taeyeon held her in place.

“Oh no, you’re not! You’re changing.” A half an hour of struggling, Jessica finally emerged from Taeyeon’s car. Taeyeon looked at her with a smile.

“I am not dancing, Taeyeon. And I won’t be staying long.” Jessica said.

“You look beautiful so why not just stand in the gym and let others admire you?” Taeyeon asked.

“I don’t like the attention. It’s too crowded in the gym.”

“Oh, come on. Let’s go. Oh, don’t forget this.”

“This is…”

Tiffany was pacing back and forth. She was waiting and it’s making her nervous.

“Fany-ah~” She looked up to see Yuri jerking her head lightly to a direction. She followed it and she couldn’t tear her eyes away.

Jessica entered with Taeyeon beside her. She was adorned in a blue, strapless gown that pooled down lightly on the floor. It accentuated her slim figure due to the silver embellishment by the waist. Her brown locks were wavy and shining, sitting on her shoulders. It was not noticeable but she wore dark blue heels to match. Although the gym was dimly-lit, everyone took notice of her presence and gaped. They all knew SM High’s Jessica Jung but they have never seen her like this. She looked… breath-taking.

Taeyeon held her by the hand as they walked in but kept her distance as she felt a glare… Wait, are there two glares? She thought to herself. She subtly looked around and found that Tiffany was indeed giving her one. She smiled apologetically at her but she never did found the source of the other one. Taeyeon and Jessica stopped near the other entry way of the gym because Jessica didn’t want to go the center.

“I’ll check on Jae Shin for a bit.”

“How come I’m not shocked that you’re just going to leave me here?” Jessica said as if knowing that it would happen.

“I’m just checking up on the kid for a bit. What do you want me to do? Stay?”

“Right now? Yes. There’s something up.” Jessica said leaning back on the wall. Jessica had her eyes closed so Taeyeon took this opportunity to make eye contact with Tiffany, signaling a no. She fought a smile as Tiffany pouted at her before vanishing behind the curtains of the stage. She looked at Yuri, who was behind the music system, and the girl just nodded at her.

“It’s our last night as high school students. Of course, something is up. It’s prom!” Taeyeon tried emphasizing that she was only doing this so that everyone will have a memorable night. Sadly, Jessica was not buying it.

“Don’t try, Taeyeon. I know something is up. You had this dress ready for tonight. The heels, too.”

“That was for emergencies, like if I get my dress messed up on the way here.”

“Really?” Jessica looked at her suspiciously.

“Of course!” Taeyeon said confidently.

“And the fact that it is the perfect fit on me doesn’t say otherwise right?” Okay… this is trouble. I need a distraction. Just then, Sooyoung and Hyoyeon came in. Great!

“Hyo! Soo!” She immediately called, causing Jessica to look as well.

“Oh! Sica, you look beautiful tonight~” The two complimented at the same time.

“You guys do, too.” The two smiled thankfully at Jessica, while Taeyeon internally sighed in relief. Komawo~ they are life saviors! Taeyeon exclaimed to herself.

“Oh, Sica. Have you seen Tiffany tonight?” Why did Soo have to drop the bomb right away?

“No, I haven’t. Why?”

“She’s not wearing pink but her dress is beautiful, too. I’m sure she would be happy to receive a compliment from you.” Sooyoung continued on as she drank on a glass of punch.

“Why me?” Jessica asked. Soo!  Taeyeon was going crazy in her mind.

“Why not?” Hyoyeon ended.

“You’d be surprised.” Sooyoung added, taking a sip of the beverage once again.

“Hey, Hyo. Does it taste weird?” Sooyoung asked, turning to Hyoyeon with the cup while the girl just looked at her questioningly.

Taeyeon watched Jessica’s expression. A small smile graced her face. She had a knowing look as if she was satisfied with the answer, like she expected-no, she knew that the conjecture was a fact, not a hypothesis needed to be proven. Since the mood was now lightened, Sooyoung and Hyoyeon miraculously took cue once again and left, going about the gym, socializing.

“Hey, Jessica.” Taeyeon began.

“Hm?”

“Something has been bothering me a while.”

“What is it?”

“Well, two things. First of all, why is Sunny mad at me?” Taeyeon asked, looking straight at Jessica.

“Why wouldn’t she be?” Jessica suddenly asked back, reflecting Taeyeon for a moment.

“Eh? What is it that I did wrong?”

“You didn’t. It’s more of what you thought and didn’t do.” Jessica said flatly. Taeyeon wasn’t a mind reader. Jessica knew that.

“That’s something you’ll have to ask her yourself.” Jessica said with a smile, clearly happy at the advantage that she knows something Taeyeon didn’t. Taeyeon groaned.

“Such a tease…” She muttered under her breath, to only which Jessica laughed.

“I am.”

“Secondly-”

“Secondly?” Jessica asked incredulously.

“Didn’t you hear me? I said, two things.” Jessica nodded, gesturing her to continue.

“You and Tiffany. Did something happen between you two?” Taeyeon asked, to which there was a pause before she let out a heavy sigh before looking out among the crowd. There was a bit more silence when Taeyeon decided to speak up.

“You know you’re being like those people in dramas right now.” She said jokingly to which Jessica smiled, acknowledging the trite scene.

“Well, since you’ve seen a lot of people in those dramas, what do you think I’m thinking about right now?”

“… You’re thinking about Tiffany.” Taeyeon said. Jessica blinked her eyes twice.

“It’s complicated.”

“Isn’t it always?” This made Jessica laugh once more. Taeyeon waited a bit before nudging her. Jessica nodded before speaking.

“I realized something before we entered high school.” Taeyeon waited for Jessica to continue.

“It was like with you and Sunny. Only a bit different.”

“Really? How so?” Taeyeon asked, not understanding the confession.

“I know you like Sunny. Even Tiffany does. Though she was confused to why you asked her instead of Sunny to dance, she didn’t show it… I like Tiffany. The same way you like Sunny…”

“So? Then what’s the problem?”

“I chose not confess, unlike you. Sunny told me about it.”

“When she asked you to teach her how to dance?”

“Yes. Anyway, I thought if I just ignore it, then it would pass… How cliché right?”

“As a matter of fact, it is. And let me guess, it didn’t.” Jessica smiled.

“You know the story.” Jessica paused. “If I confessed, it will be just troublesome for her. So I decided to stay away. It wasn’t hard since she had school activities going on.”

“…”

“…”

“…”

“You’re awfully quiet about that.”

“… No, it’s just… what if it isn’t troublesome for her?”

“Hm?”

“Let me rephrase that. What if she would be happy to hear your feelings?” As soon as the question left , she spotted Tiffany, asking for the cue again. Taeyeon decided she stalled enough.

“I-”

“Don’t tell me the answer. What good will it do you if you tell me?” Taeyeon said as she started walking off.

“I’m glad we had this talk. Don’t worry; this will just be between us. Now, I’ll go around and look for my ‘Sunny’ ray of sunshine. Just enjoy yourself.” Taeyeon said before leaving Jessica.

“Hey, everyone. How’s the night so far?” Yuri asked from behind the music system. There were some cheers and shouts around the room.

“I’m guessing the Student Council did a good job right?” Their classmates laughed, knowing that Yuri was part of the student committee.

“Have you thanked the members tonight?” There were a series of yes and no around the room.

“Well, our president has a surprise. She will unveil them at the last dance of the evening so stay until then and have a good time.” There was a loud applause. Jessica stood straight from leaning against the wall. She started making her way to the doors.

“But before we get back to having fun, let’s enjoy this song.” A song started, earning knowing cheers from the crowd.

“1000 Years, from the movie, Innocent Steps. It will be performed by our very own Student Council President, Tiffany Hwang!” Jessica stopped just before the gym doors, her hand about to push it.

Somewhere in the school, two figures were found wandering around. Well, one was chasing a currently not-so radiant sun.

“Sunny!” Taeyeon called but Sunny kept on walking, not stopping.

“Come on. Please listen to me.”

“Just this once~” Sunny stopped walking and looked at Taeyeon, who stopped beside her.

“Fine. Let’s go to the student council room at the third floor.” They were currently at the first floor because Sunny was checking with the camera and the pictures. Of course, the kid Taeyeon asked was able to take the pictures well.

(What? Can’t blame the author for trying to be part of the story right? ^-^v)

After two flights of stairs, they turned to a corridor and made their way to the student council room. Sunny opened the door and allowed Taeyeon to step in. It was dark because the lights were off. Taeyeon was about to turn the lights on when Sunny spoke.

“When you confessed, I was really happy. You won’t believe how happy I was.” Sunny paused in the darkness but continued.

“Before, we would pass each other by the halls. We weren’t really close were we? The occasional meetings in the halls, and in class, that was it. I thought my heart would have to burst just so I can tell you what I feel. So when you confessed, I was really happy.” Taeyeon kept quiet so Sunny continued more.

“I wanted tonight to be the best for the both of us. So I asked Jessica to help me dance. This was two weeks ago. When you confessed, I wanted to give you my answer. But we didn’t see each other since the preparation with the prom was always the priority. And the teachers had to release the grades. I knew you were busy with school work.” She paused to take a breath.

“I saw Jessica and asked for her help. She started teaching me and that one afternoon, you probably saw us…”

“Sunny.” Taeyeon said her name.

“I am upset because you just asked Tiffany. When you walked in this room a week ago, I thought that I could finally talk to you. Don’t you know how shocked I was when you suddenly asked Tiffany?”

“I’m sorry. I thought you were with Jessica.” There was silence then. Taeyeon thought that it would be best to turn the lights on but she felt that it would not be a good idea to at the moment. She decided to step away from the wall and let her own self guide her to Sunny. If she was right, Sunny was currently at the center of the room. She can hear her own footsteps and her heart was beating fast. She reached out and she felt Sunny’s shoulders, holding them lightly. She felt Sunny flinch a bit. She pushed Sunny gently so she would move and they made their way to the window that let in the moon light. She was about to turn Sunny so she could see her right now, but Sunny held onto her forearm.

“…” Sunny didn’t say anything but she knew what it means. So instead of turning Sunny, Taeyeon just wound her arms over Sunny’s shoulders in a comforting-hold like embrace. She let her chin rest lightly on Sunny’s shoulders and her head lovingly leaning next to Sunny’s.

“Then will you give me your answer now?”

Tiffany walked to the middle of the stage while the gym lights dimmed, but still allowed her to be seen. She waited for a moment before she started. Jessica turned her gaze to the stage hesitantly.

Moment, you came to my heart just by chance
To me you don't seem to be a stranger
It took so long for you to finally find me

Their eyes met and Tiffany felt a smile on her face and sang.

For a 1000 years
I've been waiting for you
More than million until fall in eternal love
Remember forever more
we stand for a 1000 years

There was a short moment where Tiffany looked straight at Jessica before she started singing again.

Sometimes I know it will not be easy, yes true
Until then I will pray for our true love
Don't ever forget my love
we will be together

For a 1000 years
I've been waiting for you
More than million until fall in eternal love
Remember forever more
we stand for a 1000 years

Tiffany took this time to look straight at Jessica once more. There was no doubt. She never took her eyes off even once.

Don't say
I don't want to hear you saying 'Goodbye'
Please promise me
you will always be my love
my love

Tiffany paused while still looking at Jessica. Yuri left her position from the music system to help sing. Tiffany continued to sing to Jessica, choosing not to close her eyes as she tried doubling.

(Ha~) For a 1000 years
I've been waiting for you (Thousand years~)
More than million until fall in eternal love
(Eternal Love~) Remember forever more (Forever more~)
we stand for a 1000 years

(Hm~) For a 1000 years
I've been waiting for you (Waiting for you~ Oh~)
More than million until fall in eternal love (With my love~)
Remember forever more (My love~)
we stand for a 1000 years (Woah~)

As soon as the song ended, everyone broke in applause and loud cheers. Tiffany and Yuri took a bow. They went to their positions, Yuri behind the music system and Tiffany backstage.

Tiffany was prepared to meet Jessica now.   She was thinking about what to say. Jessica… I don’t know why you became so distant from me. I don’t want that. If you still plan on staying away from me, I will go after you. Just like when we were little… I won’t let you on your own anymore. If you would refuse to be friends like before, then I will be willing to be so much more with you.

She took a deep breath before she opened the door back to the gym. She was shocked for it to open right away, revealing Jessica. Jessica…

Suddenly, she felt so not ready.

“Um…” She forgot what she was going to say. She was rehearsing it before she came out but seeing Jessica right before her now is making this hard. She looked down and that’s when she noticed a familiar item on Jessica’s wrist.

“You wore it…” Tiffany trailed off. Jessica followed her gaze and saw the corsage that Tiffany offered to her yesterday.

“It’s from you anyway.” Jessica answered. She reluctantly moves her hand to hold Tiffany’s wrist.

“Let’s go somewhere.” Jessica said, still holding Tiffany’s wrist and pulling her outside. They went out the gym and stayed in the hallway. Knowing that anyone could see them, Jessica pulled Tiffany to turn into the corridor so they can’t be seen. She let go of Tiffany’s wrist. Tiffany looked up at her the second the contact was lost.

“Jessica?”

“You know, you’re making it hard for me.” Jessica suddenly says. She turns to look at Tiffany. There were emotions that were whirling in Jessica’s eyes. Tiffany can see that.

“I tried so hard to make it vanish, to ignore it… So we’ll be left off as friends. But you’re making it really hard, Tiff…” Her voice was beginning to weaken. Tiffany frowned. She opened to say something but Jessica continued on.

“I didn’t want to break our friendship. And we’re too young to even think about this. We both have our future ahead of us. We still don’t understand this. I know that. You know that as well… If it was just me, it would have been easier. But now, you’re in this too and I don’t know if I can take this…” Tiffany watched as tears form from the corner of Jessica’s tightly closed eyes.

“This… what is this, Jessica?” She asked. Jessica looked up at her.

“What…?”

“This. Between us right now, what is it? Do you know what it is?” Jessica just looked at her.

“This is not a dream. This is not an illusion. This is what’s happening right now. Right now, at this moment. Every second is passing and anything could happen…I won’t lie. I could be dreaming. I won’t deny that I had that doubt. Every night, I had that doubt. But because you’re here with me right now and I can do this.” Tiffany said before lovingly caressing Jessica’s cheeks and wiping the tears with her thumb. She even moved closer to kiss the forming tears. Yup, this isn’t a dream. Tiffany thought to herself, smiling internally.

“Because of that, I know it’s not a dream. And my heart is beating fast. With you here with me… Let’s see where this will take us, hm?” Tiffany finished to which Jessica tearfully nodded before embracing Tiffany tightly.

“Alright, everybody. This is our gift. From the student council, to you.” At that, Yuri signaled to someone before vanishing from the stage. One of their classmates cut a rope and decorations came down. Light metal-shaped angel wings came down, all of which were held up by individual strings. Every student gaped at the sight as the lights they had in the gym hit the reflective metals and produced a mirror reflection of the wings around the gym. It was beautiful.

Taeyeon and Sunny walked in the gym to see Yuri and Yoona in the sidelines. Their classmate was kind enough to take over the rest of the evening so Yuri can enjoy her night as well.

“Yul! Good work tonight.” Taeyeon said, catching Yuri’s attention.

“Thanks. It was tiring but it was fun. It is our last night after all.”

“How did Tiffany did with the performance?” Taeyeon asked. She saw Yuri look off to one direction.

“Well, she did pretty well in my opinion. Why don’t you see for yourself?” Taeyeon followed Yuri’s gaze and saw Tiffany and Jessica entering the gym.

“Tiffany! Jessica!” Taeyeon called out. The two looked to see them and waved. Tiffany had a very bright smile in her face while Jessica had a warm look on her face. To sum it up, they looked pretty content.

“Congratulations!” Taeyeon and Yuri said to the both of them.

“To you and Sunny too, Tae.” Tiffany returned.

“Congratulations for what?” Hyoyeon and Sooyoung asked, appearing beside them. Behind them, Seohyun followed.

“Oh? Seo, where’s Yonghwa?” Yuri asked.

“Right here.” The young man appeared behind them, seemingly tired.

“What happened?” Jessica asked.

“We ran off with Seohyun for a bit so we can take a family picture.” Sooyoung said.

“So I’m guessing you just took Seohyun with you and didn’t even say anything to him?” Sunny asked. Sooyoung and Hyoyeon nodded. Everyone shared a laugh, even Yonghwa who managed to catch his breath.

“Let’s go then.” Yuri said, taking Yoona by the hand while the others followed. They saw the kid sitting down on one of the chair outside.

“Oh! Sunbaes, where have you been?” Jae Shin asked.

“Around~ Okay, let’s take the pictures now.” Yuri answered before pulling Yoona with her. “Us first!”

“Okay. One. Two. Three. Say, Kimchi!”

“Kimchi~” After the flash, Yuri and Yoona looked at the picture.

“Wow. It’s nice!” Yoona exclaimed to which Yuri agreed.

“Who’s next?” Sunny and Taeyeon walked forward. Then, Jessica and Tiffany were next. They were followed by Hyoyeon and Sooyoung. And lastly, Yonghwa and Seohyun came after.

“Hey, how about a family picture?” Sunny suggested.

“Let’s leave Yonghwa out on this one.” Hyoyeon and Sooyoung said at the same time.

“Hey!” Yonghwa protested while they shared a laugh.

In the end, they all took one picture with the ten of them together. Six of them were standing. Yonghwa and Seohyun were on the far left of the picture together; beside them were Hyoyeon and Sooyoung, followed by Yoona and Yuri. Then, the ones sitting, Taeyeon and Sunny were sitting next to Jessica and Tiffany.

It certainly was a prom-ising night.

A/N: Hey guys. If you're reading this, well, congratulations for reading more than 10,000 words, not including this author's notes. Hehe.

I apologize from being out for a month and more with my stories but I will try to update DoRS and DP:KTA when I can.

Of course, I posted two shots today to commemorate my longest time of being into Kpop and SNSD. This was originally planned to be posted on the beginning of June but a lot of things came up. But yeah, I've been a Sone for a whole year already. That's the longest I've liked any idol group. I also posted this for you guys.

Well, I'll be back with new stories and chapters soon. Maybe I get all my inspiration with school on, which is why I was more punctual with my updates during the school year. Hehe. See you guys around. ^-^v

Chapter 1: So fluffy, it's been a while since I've read one :)
There's some extraneous information that feel tacked on, you didn't have to have all the girls in a scene.

How I saw them:
Hyoyeon: "I'm unofficial but officially with Sooyoung."
Sooyoung: "I ammmm not a hot mess! *Hic* I'm not drunk either."
Yuri: "I'm just in this story cuz I'm in Snsd and Yoona is here. I exist for her."
Yoona: "Yuri!! <3 <3"
Taeyeon: "I cause a lotta problems with misunderstandings but hey, I helped Tiffany!"
Sunny: "Taeyeon is an idiot who shouldn't have asked Tiffany but she's my idiot."
Yongseo: "We're just here cuz we're the sane ones. Really."

I would comment on the JeTi but I'd take forever and I forgot what to say. But of course Jessi would be the misunderstood bamf of the school even though she's a wuss about her feelings. :)
