Description

Annoyed that you can't understand anything from your favorite K-pop song?

Frustrated that you can't find an english subbed version of your latest K-drama? (Pretty sure there are more than just couple of you out there who forced yourself to watch a show without any subtitles and just had to guess what's going on, squealing every now and then when your bias made your heart flutter. Am I right? Tell me I'm right. u.u)

Or maybe, you have tried learning Korean but gave up due to time, school, work, roleplaying, tumblr, fangirl/boying etc. etc.

Well then, let's put an end to your misery. You've come to the right place.

Foreword

Welcome.

This is a little project of mine to help all of you wonderful people here to learn Korean.

Warning, I have never done this before so sit tight and keep your fingers crossed for me.

Complete beginners can start here as well as those of you who already know some basics.

Oh and a little introduction about myself. Ahem. I was born in Seoul, South Korea. I have lived there for good 11 years or so before moving to the states. Currently, I'm in high school and I volunteer as a teacher assistant at a Korean School. I am obviously not a professional so I am bound to make some mistakes. If I do, I apologize beforehand. Also, I go by Aime.

The RPR version is more of a community form. It's similar, but much more interactive, helpful and fun. Check it out if you're interested!

Feel free to comment with questions/suggestions/comments!

Anyways, thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy the ride!

Chapter 6: Hi again! Just wanted to know if you had links or were planning to do audio files of the pronunciation of the vocabulary? :) Another good chapter!

Chapter 3: Yay for this! I've been looking for a good guide to hangul - most of the stuff I read is a bit convoluted, but what you wrote is really helpful! I'd love some more examples of words and how they're broken down. :) Also, if you include something about hanja (like, how prevalent is it? I know it's used for names, but in order to be literate, how much do you need to know?), and Korean proverbs and sayings, that would be great! I read a book called Speak Like a Korean or something (don't recall title) and it had all these great sayings like "a flea's liver" and things like that, which I love but I don't have the book anymore and internet doesn't have much interesting stuff. 4-character idioms also fascinate - like, what are they? :D
