A soft beep woke Kyungsoo up from his long sleep. Stretching his arms and legs, he took a deep breath and then exhaled it at once. His eyes landed on the clock (it’s still five in the morning) and his vibrating phone on the tableside. Who sent him a message this early?

Kyungsoo reached out for his phone and rolled his body closer to it when he failed to take the phone. Once he did, his lips formed a small smile and his thumb pressed the message open.

Are you awake? I’m outside. Can you come out for a bit? Please?

Jolting up to a sitting position, Kyungsoo read the message again once, twice, and his eyes diverted to his bedroom door. As he blinked, he felt his eyes were a little bit heavier than usual. Kyungsoo turned the light on his phone off and used it as a mirror. Wow. His face was bloated. Had he been crying?
