When they told me I was going to debut, I was filled with excitement. When they told me I was to become the leader of SM's new girl group, I became speechless. I, Song Qian of China, was given a heavy burden. How could they assign me the position of leader when I can hardly speak any Korean? How could I be a reliable leader if I can't communicate with my own members? 

Things became more stressful when I finally met the rest of my members. There was Amber Liu, the Taiwanese tomboy who came from America, who also had difficulty speaking Korean as well. Then I was introduced to Park Sunyoung and Choi Jinri, both natives of South Korea. Finally, Jung Soojung, also known as Krystal Jung, the younger sister of Jessica Jung sunbaenim, was to be part of the new girl group. Although I heard Krystal was born in America, I was envious of her ability to speak Korean naturally, but she is Korean so I shouldn't have been so surprised. Another burden was placed upon me when I learned just how young they all were compared to me. I kept wondering if I'd be able to fit in with my own group.

Back then, I was scared.

But to my surprise, those four welcomed me with open arms. They saw my internal struggle and supported me, and though I couldn't express myself with my words, I did my best to show it through my actions. I soon learned that the five of us needed each other if we were to make it and before I knew it, I considered them family

Now, I couldn't of asked for better members.
