A/N: Finally after about 7 months, I got around to start editting this story. I realized how much revamping and reditting I needed to do on this story, and since I had nothing to do this summer and I wanted to procrastinate getting ready to start college, I stayed up dedicating so much energy to rewriting this fic. So much to the point where I have character maps and plot maps saved in my laptop. But, dear readers, if you are an old subbie, you've probably forgotten everything that has happened in this story anyway so you won't be able to tell the difference between this new plot and the old one. And if you're new here, I hope I make it worth your while and you stick around. There aren't that many stories inspired by EXO's powers anyway, so I do hope you give this a chance since I've worked so hard to make it more pleasing to read.
Also please note: I will be deleting comments from before that include spoilers, so if you remember that you've commented and it's not there anymore, just know I haven't deleted it because it was offensive, but because it was gonna spoil so...
I'll try to get a new poster and character listing going on here as soon as I can, but until then, I hope you guys enjoy the foreword and first chapter. Thanks again for reading!
Foreword
A teenage girl inwardly sighs in frustration. Her serious eyes hide behind sunglasses, her facial expression serious and cold as stone. She’s been walking around this city for so long that she can travel every block with her eyes closed. The girl is absolutely bored living here, but she can’t leave. Not unless she completes her mission. And that is exactly what frustrates her.
After walking a few more blocks, she grows tired and decides to rest on a park bench. Surrounding civilians shoot weird glances her way as she sits down, huffing loud enough to make her frustration apparent. Just keep walking, she thinks maliciously. Mind your own business. Nothing to see here. Taking out a thick book to disguise herself, she scans the faces of passerbys behind her opaque glasses for the millionth time since she's been on this planet. The girl hopes to find a certain someone among the surrounding patrons. Her target most likely has no idea who she is, but she knows full well who he is.
Or, more accurately, who they are.
After some time, she still can’t find even one of them. Irritated, she clenches her fist, causing her nails to dig into her book. Her face remains composed, but she’s burning on the inside. She digs through her bag and retrieves a piece of gum to pop into , taking her rage out on the tiny piece with harsh grinds and chews. She doesn’t want anyone to see her when she's angry. Anyone around her when she’s really pissed off needs a death wish first. When she feels her muscles relax, she continues her search.
Peering through her glasses, she scans passing faces again with a new calm. She catches sight of a certain man. He's sitting down at a bench on the other side of the park near the lake. He looks awfully familiar to the girl. The man wouldn’t look suspicious to any other person, but to this girl, he certainly is. Picking through her mind, she searches for a name to match the face.
She abruptly stops chewing. Could it be?
The man rises from his seat across the park from her. Quickly putting her book away, she stands up and follows him on the adjacent path. When they exit the park, she walks in front of him, keeping a good distance away from him. It’s enough for her to keep sight on him when she turns her head without staying too close, as she has gathered from living on this planet. She smirks smugly.
I’ve finally found you, and you’re not getting away from me that easily anymore.
