I have been observing Chae rin since she came to this neighborhood a summer ago. This is a pretty exclusive neighborhood in Seoul and most of the neighbors are the same snobby rich kids that you see when you get to university. Chae rin is different though, she’s rich but she can blend well with almost everyone from the high and mighty to simple nobody’s like the janitors or custodians in school.

People say she’s not pretty, but I beg to disagree, Chae rin is beautiful in a very unconventional way. She is one of the very few girls who can pull-off an avant garde look like it is one of the clothes people wear everyday. She knows when to show off and when to tone down. On a normal day, you can actually see her wear a pair of short shorts and plain t-shirt although on her she manages to make it look as if she’s just stepped off the pages of a summer fashion spread. 

She has always been one with her arts. When she was younger she would fill her notebooks with child-like drawings of a bear-lion or a duck-snake or even a pig-rabbit. Drawings you’d never think of doing either because they don’t fit convention or well, your imagination just doesn’t stretch that far.

On the other side of the street, as I love to call it, I saw Jiyong. Jiyong initially is the typical young rich kid, spoiled and impish but still a kind hearted one. He has an irresistible smile and a glow in him that attracts women like a bee to a flower. 

While other young men shun their parents’ plans for them, Jiyong has always been in accord with his father’s dreams for him. When he was a lot younger his father has already brought him to the family’s company and sat him on the CEO’s chair telling him, someday, he will be sitting on that very chair.

I find them both interesting and although being part of the heavenly realm I am not allowed to interfere in their respective lives, I rooted for them. So imagine my delight when the two met? 

I think Jiyong found Chae rin, or was it the other way around with Chae rin finding Jiyong one autumn day?
