Packing the last few belongings in her apartment, Rina took one last look at the empty space she once called home. Leaving only a picture frame containing herself and two other important people in her life by a lamp stand, Rina finally closed the door. Click.

Carefully taking her last steps down the staircase, a sudden rush of memories from the past came flooding in her mind.

“Rina-imnida”

“Yunho-imnida”

“You must be new to Seoul?...”

“Friends?” “Friends.”

“Ahh..annyeong! In Na-imnida.”

“One guy and two girls?...this should be fun.”

Stopping before a certain doorway, Rina couldn’t help but smile.

She was truly going to miss this place. The noisy streets, the old ajummas bickering back and forth on the third floor, high school students talking on their way to school….yes, she will miss it all.

Thinking to herself to knock one last time, her feet did not want to budge. Looking at the wooden door frame, her hand formed into a fist as she prepared herself to knock on this familiar door one last time.

A sound broke her trance rather a sound of a woman giggling to be specific. Loosening her grip on her hand she tilted her head to the side for her ear to come closer to the door.

A faint sound of laughter was heard at the other end. Her head looked down as she sighed in defeat, she knew he was busy.

“I like her Rina. Do you think she will like me back?”

“Were dating Rina. Please don’t be mad at us.”

“Anni…I’m hhappy…for you guys."

The painful one-sided love she was stuck in hurt her even more. Rewinding the memories, she thought to herself how she would have done everything differently. Confessing first, showing him a hint of her feelings, telling her she did have feelings for him, but no she couldn’t change what has already been done.

You have no idea how much I wish I was in her place right now. 
How I painfully prayed that maybe you two would break up. 
Knowing you’re happy with her hurts.
Without a hint of pain or suffering, you wouldn’t notice my feelings.
So now, I must go before I regret it.

Now, all Rina had were just memories, well only those she felt worth keeping.

Stepping back from the wooden door, Rina turned her direction to face the moving van.

The sky was clear as blue as she stepped outside the apartment complex. Waving goodbye to her fellow neighbors, Rina couldn’t help but feel this goodbye as bitter sweet.

Giving her keys to the landlord, it almost felt as if a heavy load was lifted off her shoulders.

She knew once she left, she couldn’t come back.

Leaving this place also meant leaving her heart here.

Wiping her last tear, Rina plastered a happy look across her face.

She quickly got inside the moving van before he could notice.

Leaving without him noticing would be a lot easier. She knew if he watched her leave, she might not have the heart to walk out those doors so easily.

“Yah, so you’re just gonna leave him without saying goodbye?”

“Yeh. Let’s go or we will be late for the train.”

“Aish…I don’t understand you sometimes.”

What’s more to understand? I love him. He loves her.

Gradually pulling away from the apartment building, Rina took deep breaths to ease her nerves. She closed her eyes thinking it would help ease the pain but it only worsened. His smile, his voice, everything about him was still locked inside her mind.

Knocking on her door for the hundreth time, Yunho began to worry.

“Yah! Rina-ah, Open the door!”

Fed up with the silence, Yunho was about to knock down the wooden door till her was interrupted by an older gentlemen.

“Ahem…excuse me young man but she left.”

“Oh, what time do you think she will return?”

“Anni…what I meant to say was she moved out, this morning to exact.”

“Bwoh?...”

“Yeh…I know. Such a cute little gal, sad she had to leave so soon. But it seems as though she left a couple of stuff. Here, let me open it for you. Maybe you can return it to her since you seem close to her.”

Walking into a cold empty room, Yunho immediately saw the picture by the lamp stand.

She was truly gone.

Every bit of her was gone except for this particular picture.

In Na entered the room and wondered why it was empty.

“Oppa, where is all of Rina’s stuff?”

“She left.” he answered flatly.

“Bowah?..left? Without telling us?”

Looking at the picture frame once again, Yunho just shook his head.

Rina-ah is this your real answer?

FLASHBACK:

“Rina, I think that’s enough. You’re already drunk.”

“Anni..I’m fine. Come on, another shot Jiyeon. You're suppose to be making me happy. So take another shot with me.”

“Ahh! Yunho-sshi, thanks for coming. She passed out 20 minutes ago.”

Carrying the heavily drunk Rina on his back, Yunho couldn’t help but smile at the sleeping figure. Tracing the outline of her face with his eyes, Yunho sighed in content.

As they drew closer to the apartment complex, Rina began to stir in her sleep as well as say incoherent things.

“Wae…”

“Rina-ah, are you awake? Do you think you can walk a bit?” Yunho questioned.

“Saranghae....love me. Not her.”

Looking confused at Rina’s last statement, Yunho was finally seeing Rina’s true feelings. Sighing with defeat he finally understood his friend’s heart. Unable to return her love, Yunho could only give her a kiss on the forehead.

Tucking her in and securely locking her door, Yunho kept this little incident to himself in hopes for avoiding future conflict.

END OF FLASHBACK

Staring blankly out by the window, Yunho secretly prayed for his friend’s health as well as personal happiness in the future.

It was the most he could do.

Actually it was all he could do.
