Prologue
She was just a mere bundle of joy. She had did nothing wrong, innocent as a single flower in bloom. She cried in my arms as I protected another from the heat. Smoke had covered the area, wild fires burning through the wood. I heaved, trying to find oxygen. It was impossible. The fire was spreading and burning up the air that I needed to breathe. I needed to survive, but at this rate, I couldn't. Sweat formed as I tried my best to look for an exit out of the house. Smoke covered the entire vicinity. The tiny hand of the other child clutched on to my shirt was having trouble breathing. I watched as he coughed. He too was innocent; this wasn’t supposed to be his fate. As I sat on my knees, I thought about the price for what I did. Father, please forgive the sins I caused, I silently prayed. That was all I could do. I was nothing, but a weak person from the start.
