His eyes are getting blurry and he knows he is crying. But one of them captured his wrist and suddenly he is hauled backward before his body is thrown heartlessly against one of the big damp trees.

‘Give him!’ Someone yells.

He grits on his lips, preventing any sound while he shakes his head vigorously, hugging himself tighter with each shake.

‘Go for the left hand first so they will have trouble finding him later.’

His hug tightens. With his eyes close, he inhales deeper, tuning the chattering around him off to concentrate all of what’s left of him to this one final power. ‘I won’t let them… Don’t worry, I won’t…’ He stretches his arm down at the visible root of the tree and smiles into the bundle as something pierces through his body.

It hurts so bad but he must endure it, and he keeps telling himself that even as the second stab comes right to the join of his spine and his pelvic bone. The pain is excruciating and he knows it’ll need a miracle if he ever wants to walk again.

Someone yells again. He pulls the red satin -red from the bath of his own blood- and smiles.

‘I’m sorry...I love you… He’ll love you too if he knows…’

Sudden deep intake of breath snaps his eyes open, his body following the wake with an upright sit. His eyes glare at the lump of duvet pooling at the edge of his bed just as a sudden grief hits him hard, piercing deep inside of him so bad that his eyes begin to moist.

As the first drop of big fat tear hits his cheek, Sunggyu’s agony scream breaks the tranquil night.
