CHAPTER 21

Kyuhyun couldn’t stay still. He faced the clear glass wall as he sat inside Seohyun’s favorite restaurant. He kept tilting his head to where Seohyun and Jonghyun went to talk. Fifteen minutes to him seemed like fifteen years. He tapped his index finger on the table and simply watched his friends arranged the food they bought.

Siwon got a box of sweet potatoes, Seohyun’s favorite food, out of nowhere and placed it beside the Pepero boxes. Another three boxes wrapped in gift wrappers piled up on the corner of the table and Ryeowook added another one on top of the pile. Donghae and Leeteuk came with trays filled of cups of milk tea.

The tiny bells hanging above the restaurant’s door began ringing as two figures came in. Kyuhyun immediately turned to see who it was, thinking it was finally Seohyun and Jonghyun. But to his dismay, Minah and Taeyeon came in with a plastic full of Popsicles.

“Aren’t the two lovebirds finished having their first conversation as a couple?” Taeyeon curiously asked with a giggle. She heard about Jonghyun’s surprise for Seohyun that morning and she was truly happy for both of them.

Minah immediately replied, “They’re not lovebirds. I know they’re not and they’ll never be.”

Taeyeon pouted like a little child and unconsciously sat at Kyuhyun’s side.

At the end of the table, Ryeowook instantly threw a stare at Minah. “Who are you to say that? No one could ever predict what could happen between them. In my opinion, they looked quite good together.”

Minah disregarded Ryeowook’s presence and acted as if he wasn’t even there.

“Should I call Seohyun?” Kyuhyun asked himself loudly, letting others sneak a peek into his inner thoughts.

“Ooh. It seems like Kyuhyun here is feeling protective of his little sister.” Siwon teased.

“You can’t blame him. He’s a brother who sincerely cares for his sister.” Leeteuk told Siwon.
