CHAPTER 19

Seohyun opened her eyes groggily, as her eyes adjusted to the light. Sunshine filled her room and the morning air greeted her. She rolled to one side and remembered something. Just as she was about to shove the sheets out of her body, two figures entered her room.

Kyuhyun came with a cake and his mother clapped her hands as she sang.

“Happy birthday our dear Seohyun!”

Seohyun was caught off guard. At that moment she ran out of words to say.

“Go ahead. Blow your candles.” Kyuhyun lowered the cake so that Seohyun can blow the candles.

“Make a wish.” Kyuhyun’s mother added.

Seohyun closed her eyes and made a wish. Happiness filled every inch of her heart. But as she blew the lights off the candles, Seohyun hoped her real parents were there with her.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” ‘The Boys’ encircled Seohyun and enclosed her in their arms. Ryeowook jumped up and down like he was the once celebrating his birthday as he squeezed in the circle.

“Ya. You’re going to crush my sister.” Kyuhyun told them.

Seohyun couldn’t help but laugh as Siwon and Ryeowook huddled around her.

“Our dongsaeng is growing up.” Ryeowook sobbed and wiped a fake tear.

“It only seems to be yesterday when we first saw her with those innocent eyes and cute pigtails, and now she’s grown into a fine young lady.” Leeteuk added.

“Aww. . .sooner or later we’re going to find out that she’s getting married!” Ryeowook sobbed again.

Donghae hit Ryeowook’s head playfully. “That’s not going to happen in the near future! The guy has to fit our standards first.” He turned to face Kyuhyun. “Right, Kyu?”
