Foreword

The sound of an aeroplane passed by at the dark-blue sky caught the attention of a young man. He watched the twinkling red light on the body of the plane until its gone; flying far from him, going to a place that has been set for it. He smiled to himself as the flash of a funny memory played in his head.

He sat on the deserted street; right beside the lamp post as he felt tired of walking. The feeling of melancholy slowly crept into his heart. Regretting at the thought of walking on lonely street can help him to clear up his mind; which is not. It has been years, but the pain in his chest were never gone.

“Did I make a right choice?” he sighed for the umpteenth times at the thought.

As he was staring into the invisible air particles, a sound of footsteps walking to his direction was heard. Afraid that the person who was walking on the street at this late hour might recognise him, he turned away and quickly lowered down his cap to hide his face. Without wasting any time, he strode off only to stop in his tracks as…

“Jaejoongie?” a soft-charismatic voice called his name.

Slowly, he turned around to see the owner of the voice. He was about to lose his balance seeing the well-built guy standing in front of him but managed to control himself.

“Yunho-ah?” was the only word that escaped from his lips.

-----

He was too shocked and later found himself was wrapped with the warmth of the bear hug that the guy gave.

“Long time no see,” he greeted him.

“Yun..ho-ah…” he barely called out his name when Yunho tightened his hugged.

“Oh!? Mian! Jeongmal mianhae!” he quickly apologised; realising that he hugged him too tight.

“Are you trying *cough* to kill me, huh? What? *cough* Did Changmin asked you to do so?”

“Aniyo!” he answered as he pulled Jaejoong to sit on the same spot that he sat earlier.

They sat in silent and staring at the shadow of themselves on the road. Both of them felt awkward as the fact that they are apart for years cause an estrangement between them.

“How Changmin and you’ve been doing?” Jaejoong decided to break the ice first.

“Fine. How about you guys?”

“We’re fine too,”

“Good to hear that,”

“Hmm…”

“You’re skinny,”

“And you’re chubby,”

“Hey!!” Jaejoong chuckled as he saw a cute pout from Yunho.

“Aww…. Does it hurts?” he pinched his right-chubby cheek with an evil smiled on his face.

“Yah, Jaejoongie! Now, you’re hurting me!” Yunho’s responds made Jaejoong cracked in laughter.

He smiled amusingly seeing he laughed. Jaejoong slowly stopped laughing as he felt that a pair of eyes watching him. He looked up nervously only to meet with an almond-like eyes looking at him. They were staring at each other. No word is necessary for the longing that they felt, as the eyes told the unspoken feelings of their hearts.

-----

That is what he was hoping for. But in reality, all they were doing was stood in front of each other. The warmth that he imagined wrapping his body was replaced by the cold. The only thing that became reality was the stare; the familiar gazes. They were accompanied by the silence. It didn’t last long as Jaejoong’s phone started to ring.

“Yeoboseyo? Oh…  Junsu-ah, wae? Hurm… arasso… I’ll buy some food later, till then just eat whatever that is edible in the fridge with Yoochun, okay?” he hung up the phone and ly to see Yunho’s back. Yunho had walked passed him when he answered the call.

What? Are you just gonna walk away? Just like that? Say nothing? He can’t believe it.

Well, what am I expecting for?

He watched Yunho walked away from him. His figure soon faded from his sight… bit by bit. He smiled in bitterness.

I’m happy to see you. Seeing that you’re doing well, it makes me happy. At least you’re not alone. You’ve Changminnie by your side. Sometimes, I think it’s better if the case is left unsolved because we’re doing just fine. I’m afraid of the result… afraid that we might not be able to touch you… or even your shadow. Right now, even though there is barrier between us…but we can still see you and your smile, hear your voice and laughter. That’s enough for me… just like this.

ouch my heart...a story with no definite end is really painful...i just hope that after so much obstacles they have to go through, the amount of times slipped away as they're waiting for the happy ending would be more than just simple 'hi' and 'bye'...

after all what they shared is more than just happiness...it would be much better to see they show how longing they are to be next to each other...but then again, when you thought that you have so many things to say, you ended up saying nothing when you're standing in front of that person...i could understand that...

i hate seeing the cold yunho...aww~ my heart...ottoke~ *sinff*
