''Why? Did I do something to offend you?'' Kevin shot back as he grabbed Eli's wrists.

''Not at all. I think it's for the best.'' Eli replied solemnly as he gently shrugged Kevin's grasp.

Kevin's eyes started sparkling,like the stars in the night sky before the tears slowly start flowing down like mini waterfalls.

''I don't understand... this is all too sudden Eli.What's wrong?We can always talk about it.'' Kevin retorted, refusing to lose Eli yet.

''We can't, I do not want to talk about it,but,'' Eli cupped Kevin's face, ''I want you to know that I love you and I promise that you will be the only one I love.''

Tears was continiously flowing down Kevin's face. He inhaled the mucus back into his nose. He shakes his head in Eli's hand and whispered,

''I don't understand. You love me but why you are leaving me then?''

Eli chuckled to himself and let go of Kevin and walked away, leaving the sounds of Kevin's quiet but hard sobs behind him. It gets softer and finally silence.

''You're really cruel Eli, Kevin has not been eating for days. You could have at least told him the reason for the break-up?''

Ina was whining on the other end of the phone line. Eli went silent for a while as his fingers fiddled with the telephone cord. He then replied,

'' I can't. He will find out soon.I'm sorry Ina, please take care of Kevin.''

After hanging up,Eli rested his head on his arm for a little while when he suddenly felt a warm liquid substance on his arms, tears. Eli got up and reached for a ply of tissue and wiped away his tears and left his house.

Waseda Hospital

''You want to stop your chemotheraphy? Do you know the consequence of this? I hope you are aware of it.''  Doctor Aiden explained as he adjusted his spectacles back onto his nose bridge.

'' I'll leave it to fate Doc, we all know that chemotheraphy only slows down the spread of the cancer cells, I am tired of waiting and hoping.''

Eli replied politely. His palms was sweating,he rubbed them together to evaporate the sweat. He had always feared death but now that he was going to face it soon, it terrified him.

Doctor Aiden turned to face his computer and let out deep sighs and let the sound of the fast typing on the keyboard fill the silence before the doctor finally speaks,

''I respect your decision but I'm still giving you some pills to consume. Take it if you want to.'' 

Doctor Aiden handed Eli the paper and sent him off. He glanced at the paper with weird prescriptions,started crumpling it and tossed it into a nearby trash can.

''Not today, I'm sorry.'' Eli mumbled and started walking off.

He was alone as he speak the haiku of death,

''This final scene I'll not see

to the end...my dream

is fraying.''

Eli cried. Cried for Kevin, his family. Cried for his pet cat who he gave away. Cried for the things he will miss doing once he's gone. Cried for not being able to eat his favourite Japanese curry. Cried for the warm cuddles he shared with Kevin. Cried for the books he will not be able to finish reading. But most of all,he cried for his life.

Eli has reached the end of the cliff, he stood there for a while. He digged for something in his pocket and took out a small rectangular polaroid picture of Kevin. He cried harder this time, choking on his words as he said,

''I love you Kevin,sayonara. Please be happy.Please,for me.'' 

Eli hugged the picture close to his heart and closed his eye and he stepped off the edge and plunge to his death.
