Description
Earth has been glassed by the Covenant forces leaving only a few survivors. One of them, a partially-deaf Byun Baekhyun, has been relocated by the UNSC to Reach--a secure human-colonized planet several lightyears away from home.
Time passed and it is now the year 2552. Life hasn't been easy for Baekhyun as his disability and tendency to overfantasize about SPARTAN soldiers becomes the reason for majority of the people's teasing. Luckily, he has a very positive outlook in life and dismisses any jokes or insults directed to him.
Through his best friend Do Kyungsoo and his great hacking skills, they were able to intercept a message from Noble Team saying that the planet has been infiltrated by the Covenant and evacuation must commence right away.
Living in a large metropolis with thousands of civiians, Baekhyun must think of a way to warn the city council before it's too late.

This fanfic is inspired by Halo: Reach and is heavily based on it. Fans of the game say hi! xD
I intentionally tweaked a few facts (or so) to fit the story so please don't bash on me and say how ignorant I am with the Halo universe (I really did my best with the research! :D) I really hope you would be able to enjoy how amazing their world is!
To clarify:
"Planet Reach" is one of the many planets discovered by the human civilization and is very valuable to the United Nation Space Command (UNSC).
"The Covenant" is the general term used for the alien forces that the humans are fighting with.
"SPARTANs" are the UNSC's special fighting force. (They look kinda like robots with all the armor in their body but when you play the game, you'll really love love love them!)
"Noble Team" is a group consisting of 6 SPARTANs that is very essential to the story. (the original team members will be composed of exo member of course~ guess who~)
Hehe so originally this should've been another entry for kaibaek.net's polarlight giveaway but I didn't meet the deadline ^^; I also intended for this to be a long- oneshot but I think multi-chaptered is also good :D I'll cut it into small parts by the way.

Foreword
Welcome to Planet Reach. You are now approaching the city of New Alexandria. Please do not remove your seatbelts unless the aircraft has landed and come to a complete stop. We hope you enjoy your stay and have a blessed morning.
At this point, no one was sure if they had heard right. It was hard to believe that the only place they call home, Earth, has been glassed and infested by an alien life form. Their rescuers referred to them as the Covenant--a formidable military alliance consisting of different alien races who deem the human race as unworthy to their gods. All efforts to quell their numbers were futile and all options were exhausted except for one:
Leave Earth, or die.
A small child was seated at the back of the aircraft amongst a handful of other survivors. No one made a noise, the last few weeks still fresh on their mind. He looks down to his hands, surprised to see that they were trembling hard. What was he supposed to do now? His whole family is dead and he was about to start a new life in a planet that he has never heard of before. How can a four-year old boy possibly continue living the rest of his life?
One man, noticing the child’s blatant shaking, carefully placed an armoured hand on his head to calm him. The boy looks up, eyes now b with tears.
“You will be alright. You’re safe here.” The man’s voice is deep, almost inhuman. And yet, his words are soothing. The boy can see himself reflected in the man’s golden-colored visor and soon enough he understands. He’s the only one who can continue to live for everyone who had been left behind.
The armoured man searched for something in his pocket and there glinting in the darkness of the aircraft, emerged a beautiful silver necklace with a miniature Earth as the pendant. The boy recognizes it immediately, his hands darting out to enclose the small globe in his hands.
“You’ve been very brave, Baekhyun.”
