Description
Baekhyun is a shy nobody, forced by his father's job to relocate to a new and prestigious school in Gangnamgu called Oneiroi Academy. He enters the school on scholarship, but because he's a poor scholarship student, he's bullied intensely. His outcast days last until Choir audition, where he outperforms all the others and gains the attention of a trio of popular students, Kai, Kyungsoo and Yixing. They adopt him into their group, and for the first time in his life, Baekhyun discovers friendship.
When Baekhyun admits to failing one of his classes, he's directed to the school's token nerd, Chanyeol, for tutoring. He falls for Chanyeol immediately, but the taller boy makes him a deal – he'll date Baekhyun only if he enters a singing competition and wins. The night of the competition, Baekhyun discovers an awful truth: he has been living a lie, and his life will never be the same again….
Foreword
This is for a competition between a friend of mine and I to see how alike our brains work. We’re starting with the same prompt ["Show who you are so the world can be amazed. You are shouting out your name. What the world is waiting for is you."] and have until the end of May to write at least five thousand words of a story based on the prompt. I’m not sure what fandom hers will be written in, but I’ll link to it when we’re done in case any of you are interested.
Notes~ The prompt is from Nu’est’s song “Action” English translation. I will not be abandoning my other in-progs for this (Agencyverse, ‘Confessions,’ and a couple of gift oneshots) though some of my unwritten ideas (such as ‘Artificial Intelligence’) may get shunted off to the side for a while.
