Our Start
Tainted WingsBlinding bright lights, and the screeching noises of crying metal as it was being forced to
abruptly stop; was all I could see and hear. As my body suddenly moved on it's own accord,
to save the fragile human girl. That was so graciously standing still in the middle of the
street.
Waiting as she desperately wanted to get hit by one of the passing cars. That were
driving through the semi-bright light, but yet busy street. I bet you're wondering how I, Kevin
Woo; the angel that had never in his whole existence had ever laid foot on earth, is now
risking exposing himself to save this one human girl? Well let me tell you... If you're willing to
listen to my story.
It all started nineteen years ago. I as usual was roaming heaven keeping everything in
check when a young angle came to informing me, that our lord requested my presence
immediately. I curtly smiled at the young angel gesturing to him that he could take his leave
since he had relay the message that was given to him. A message that by the way had me
intrigued, since my lord and I usually would meet latter on.
"What could be so important that he couldn't wait for us to meet latter on? I said in a low
whisper. I walked out into the rose garden and I spread my beautiful white wings, and I took of
into the sky heading towards my Lord's chambers. In less than a minute I found myself landing
in one of the most majestic white buildings in heaven. I retracted my wings and wrapped them
around me. Using them as a white cloak. As I made my way to his chamber, I found myself
trying to come up with some reasons as to why he wanted to see me. But I just couldn't come
up with one.
"Ah... Kevin," my lord said in his deep smooth honey coted voice. I took a step in to his
private chamber.
"Yes, my Lord," I answered him as I took a low bow, that almost had me touching the ground.
"Please Kevin get up," he said. Although I couldn't see his face, I knew by the tone in his
voice that his face held a smile. "By the way, I thought I told you to quit doing that," he
chuckled as he got up from his throne and made his way towards me. Once he was close to me
he bend down and grabbed my arms pulling me up so I was standing on my feet.
"And please call me by name, okay," he said to me as he straiten me up. I looked up and my
eyes met his light soft honey gold ones. I found myself transfixed by his kind eyes. The kind of
eyes that I could never get used to. The kind of eyes I wish one day I would be able to hold,
instead of my cold and transparent ones I own.
"You will... right Kevin?" he said. Breaking me from my thoughts and his gaze. I quickly
lowered my gaze from him averting my eyes els were but his own.
"I can't my Lord," I told him. His smile disappeared and was soon replace with a frown.
"And why not?" he asked as he crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Because you are my creator and thus I must show you my respect," I said in a soft but firm
voice. I quickly looked up and saw that he didn't look to happy with my answer.
"I guess you won't change your mind then?" He said in a defeated tone. "Oh well, I tried...but
any way, Kevin what I really want from you is a favor," he said to me with one of the most
serious voice I ever heard him use.
"Yes my Lord, what is it?" I said ready to take in his request, or so I thought.
"Kevin," God or better yet my lord said in a worry voice.
"Yes," I stammered out. I could see what ever my lord wanted to say, was taking a toll on him.
"I don't know how you're going to take this, but I need you to go down to earth. And
become the guardian angel of a girl that is about to be born on earth."
"Uhh..." Was all I could say. I felt stupid in a way. I mean I could of said why me, or why
not Gabriel, but no. Uhh, was all I could say. It took a couple of seconds but I mange to form a
proper sentence. "Are you sure my lord. I mean why not send one of the actual guardian
angels to look after her. What can I do? I've spent all my existence here in heaven. I have no
experience on earth. I'm afraid I'm far to naive to be a human guardian angel."
"Kevin... Please be her guardian angel. You are the only one I can trust her with," he said. I
wasn't happy with the idea of leaving the comfort of my heaven for a mere human girl. I
know I sound selfish for an angel, but what can I say. That's the way I am angel or not.
And after a couple of years , nineteen to be exact here I am. Saving the girl that will lead me
to my down fall, or should I say my uprise, and with one gacefull swift movement of my powerful white
wings it began.
