Prologue 3: Luhan
EXO Hunger GamesMy name is Luhan. I live in District 3- the district that specializes in electronics and technology. Today my family told me that the Hunger Games reaping rules have been compromised. They told me that only males are competing in this year's Games. And I'm still in the age range for reaping.
The prestidigitation and the handiwork of the Capitol. Isn't it beautiful? Hopefully these suddenly-changed rules will lower my chances of being selected as tribute. Then again, I should not hope or wish for anything when it comes to the Hunger Games. Thinking about it gets me nervous.
I start to get ready for the reaping. I dressed myself in a white top with a collar, with a pair of black slacks and dress shoes. It's nothing too nice and nothing that would make me look overdressed. I look at my reflection, wondering if I'll ever look at my face in this mirror again. In the room next door, I hear a television broadcasting news and general messages from the Capitol. I faintly heard announcements about the Games and the new change in rule, which apparently, swept the nation. It made me wonder what the Capitol would say about me if I were picked as District 3's tribute. I thought about how I would look during the tribute parade, and what questions I could be asked in the interview with Caesar Flickerman. I continued to ponder until someone abruptly knocked on my door.
It was my mother.
"Luhan, dear...are you ready to go?" she asked me in a voice that sounded too gentle.
I tugged on my shirt collar, tilted my head to the side and closed my eyes.
"Yes."
