It's as if time can pass before it's even been experienced. She was only five. There was nothing at first....only the mumuring of the wind, the wailing of the birds and the excitement and anticipation in the air. Grinning playfully, the young girl scrambled around the dense bush for a hiding place, clutching onto her favourite  toy bunny.

"They'll never find me here!" she giggled to herself as she hid clumsily behind a well-shielded tree.

Suddenly, unexpected noises alarmed her and she instinctively peered through the hole in her tree, the harsh wind blowing her short wild hair against her face. As she caught the hurried whispers of two frightening shadows, she struggled to keep her breathing even and could only look on with awe-struck, tear-stained eyes. 

"No!" A scream echoed through the vast, dense forest.  

A sob escaped from her and she grabbed her bunny. She ran.  She ran and ran through the dense unknown, willing her legs to go just a bit further. Finally, she lost sense of everything. The world became an instant blur and she collapsed onto the cold, wet ground.
