“I knew you weren’t really okay with it..”

I find myself floating on air.

Where shall I go now?

“When will I get to wear it?” I remember asking myself such question back when I was in the hospital.

I never thought I’d get to wear a school uniform along with other girls.

I thought I had accepted my death.

So why am I so hurt?

Sooyoung is growing up…and leaving me behind.

Now that I’ve realized that, I can’t be that kind of big sister to her anymore.

But…

I want her to like me forever.

I have been to lots of places.

Such places that never once in my life I thought I could go to.

There was this man, around 70 years of age, whom I met sobbing in front of her wife’s grave. He told me stories that gave me waterfall of feelings. I learnt that his two daughters migrated to the U.S many years ago, and never came back. They didn’t even know that their mother died already. Never once did they contact their parents again. It was very sad for him as a father.

But the old man cheered me when he said something about his best friend. His best friend has been visiting him with his family every week. By that he feels like he’s been part of something again.

He told me that he doesn’t care much about the number of people around him as long as he’s being accompanied by the people he cares about.

Then...more stories were shared.

I didn’t tell the man that I’m a ghost since I don’t want him to question his sanity.

When we bid our farewells I felt like going back to somewhere…

I check on her once in a while.

I saw how she sleeps during math class, how well she did in the SONE Club, how she broke the hearts of almost every boy in school by rejecting them, how she reacted after passing the entrance examination in her dream university, how she made new friends…more friends…

She’s growing up so fast.

She’s going to become an adult. And I’m going to disappear. I’ll probably go up to Heaven.

And that’s the way things should be, right?

I unsealed my eyes and find myself floating near the beach.

“Sunrise.” I uttered while enjoying the astonishing view in front of me.

Sunrise, a new lease, a new start, a new chance.

“Very well.” I bit my lower lip and started drifting away from the place.

She’s at a pink building. I wonder why there are so many people around the place.

I went closer to the glass window to have a better view of what’s inside.

My eyes fell on her…

A tear fell from my eyes.

…a wedding dress? She’s getting married?

“I’m fine now.” I heard her say that to a lady in violet.

I’m losing her to someone else.

I wiped my tears using my hands. Then I see her coming closer to where I am at.

Then her eyes fell on me. We stared at each other.

It seems like the time stop.

And the only sound heard was the breeze on that middle autumn.

“Sooyeon!”

I dashed away.

“Sooyeon! Wait!” She calls me more.

I think this is the better thing to do. She has finally found her love. I shouldn’t mess it up right? I should just go away and wait for my time…I should leave….leave…..leave…

I ran to the woods across the pink building. I began to cry again. Everything’s just too much for me to handle.

Yes, I love her. I haven’t told her…but I know she felt it. She felt it since the beginning.

Her life story should end up perfectly. I’ve seen everything flash greatly in front of my eyes. This wedding is just one of those peaks in her life.

I don’t want it undone.

I wanted to selfish for once, even though I’m dead. But…

Her happiness stands above all because…because I love her.

I’ll still watch over her…until the day I’ll go up to Heaven…

But can I handle this hurt?

“Geez! You finally show up, and now you’re running off…wait up!” I heard her. She followed me? Huh?

“Sooyeon!”

*GRAB*

She grabs my wrist and turned me to face her.

“You’re getting married to someone I’ve never even met!” There, I said it.

“Huh?” She asks with concerned eyes.

What now?

“I’m just modeling this for my pamphlet! This is my job! I’m not getting married!” What? I stop crying and starting wiping my tears.

“What do you mean?”

“I’m not marrying anyone!” She said sternly. Then she sighed.

“I want to spend my life with you, Sooyeon. That hasn’t change.” She said before pulling me into a hug.

That very full hug whenever I change clothes. That significant hug.

I cried again.

Cries now because of happiness.

“I didn’t expect this.” I managed to giggle though. I tightened our hug. I felt her warm transfer to me. That certain warm…warm of love.

“I love you.” She said whispering to my ears.

“I love you too…” Then I felt our lips connected.

I wish this would last forever.
