Description

Welcome to the enchanting K-pop academy, located in Seoul, South Korea, the loveliest high school you've ever dreamed of.

Over 3 years, alike normal Korean high school education, students will be put through three intensive years of training in order to become the K-pop star he or she dreams of.

Our school guarantees that our graduates that work hard, show determination and enthusiasm through their studies will be signed to an entertainment agency, students with the top grades having gone to top agencies such as SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, YG Entertainment and Cube Entertainment.

With a beautiful scenery, well-balanced diet to nourish our students, as well as fun lessons and teachers who have been K-pop stars and on stage for a very long time, our school offers everything that K-pop star wannabes can only dream of. This is a real-life Cinderella and Prince Charming story come true.

 

Our school is located in Apgujeong, Gangbuk, Seoul, South Korea.

 

You can easily access the school from Apgujeong station (336) after taking the metro, when you arrive in Seoul/Incheon, within 20 minutes walk.

Compulsory subjects:

Alike the regular Korean educational system, Korean, English and mathematics still remain compulsory subjects. Hence, the subjects that will be taken as compulsory are:

  • ONE other language (Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), Japanese, Thai, Tagalog, Indonesian, Malay, Vietnamese, Russian, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Arabic, Portuguese)

  • Music
  • Rapping
  • Fashion
  • PE

Please note that the subjects in italics are subjects that require specific textbooks.

Textbooks required:

  • Korean - Elementary Korean 1, 2, 3 and 4
  • English - As this is both an English language and literature course, speak to your English teacher individually, as novels will vary class to class.
  • Mathematics - IB Mathematical Studies
  • Other language - Speak to your foreign language teacher individually.
  • K-pop history - An Encyclopedia of K-pop History, K-Pop and the City, South Korean Pop
  • Music history - Music Over History
  • Music - Musical Structure and Form, Musical Order, Musical Compositions
  • Korean History - Korea, Korean History
  • Korean Geography - Korea, Geography of Korea

Subjects in italics are applicable for students who choose the subjects as electives only.

All subjects are assessed externally through exam papers, depending on the subject syllabus, which accounts for 65% of the total grade, as to internal assessments, which may be assignments, writing compositions, dance, singing, projects. etc, which accounts for 35% of the total grade, with the exception of PE and Fashion

 

School uniform:

Two models wearing the school uniform.

 

A school uniform is required for every school day, except in PE or Fashion Classes, unless there are specific occasions that do not require the uniform above.

Boys and girls:

White long sleeved cuffed shirt with collar

Green gray blazer with school logo on it

Striped tie (plaid bowtie is available for girls)

Beige pants (boys)/Grey plaid skirt (girls)

Additional: A black/brown belt can be worn with the pants.

Socks: Any colour of your choice, as long as it is plain and does not have patterns or pictures on it.

Black shoes (Dress shoes or Mary Janes are fine) or sneakers

 

PE Kit:

White tracksuit jacket and pants, as well as a white T-shirt underneath. You may bring your own sneakers, regardless of colour or pattern.

 

School regulations:

  1. You agree to purchase and wear the school uniform and wear it unless you have a specific reason why you cannot.
  2. No chewing gum.
  3. No swearing.
  4. No explosive, dangerous or illegal materials (includes drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco, bombs, lighters, firecrackers etc.). If found with them you will be given an immediate detention and a week-long suspension.
  5. No bullying. Bullying includes discrimination of ANY kind, treating people like an outcast, spreading rumours, kicking and punching and other physical violence, humiliation, etc.
  6. Do not eat or drink during lessons, but a bottle of water is fine.
  7. You are to treat the staff and students with respect.
  8. Stealing or thievery is strictly prohibited. If caught stealing, you will be given an immediate detention.
  9. ual UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES is allowed.
  10. Cheating or plagiarism is a serious offence, and will not be tolerated. If caught cheating or plagiarising, you will immediately be reported to Mr Jung, and be given a permanent expulsion as well as disqualification from ALL subjects.
  11. You are not to use out-of-bound areas (dance rooms, swimming pools, gymnasium, vocal training hall, drama rooms, music rooms) unauthorised nor without consent granted from a staff member.
  12. Cell phones and other electronic devices must be switched off in lessons unless granted permission to use laptops.
