Mimi by the River

Description

She is here again;
that girl, Mimi.

Everyday she sits at the same spot;
day dreaming perhaps,
or maybe she seeks
the calmness
of the river.

From eleven in the morning
till the clock strikes twelve,
she silently anticipates
the passing of time.

Her fingers are touching the warmth of the earth,
and her eyes are glimmering from the sunlight.

Her cheeks are pink from the cold wind,
whilst her feet are within the clear
water – wrinkling yet still.

Every movement of hers is infectious,
to the point that I can replicate
everything with exact timing.

Two minutes, one minute
tick-tock, tick-tock

Mimi,
will leave again,
any moment now.

And once she does,
I too will disappear
