Doodled Hearts

Doodled Hearts

Suzy couldn't remember when exactly she met Myungsoo. Unlike girls who would remember the exact date or worse, the precise timing, she couldn’t care less. She too, couldn't remember what she was wearing when they met. Another thing which she can’t remember would be when she began following this particular boy around, wherever he goes. Somehow or rather, it became a habit. A habit which Suzy couldn’t kick since before. It did not matter how many times she was told not to do it because she never really heed those advices.

“Suzy, you should stop following Myungsoo around. He might find it bothering.” Her father said to her.

“Why not play with the Kim family’s daughter?” Her mother suggested with a warm smile.

Suzy shook her head and replied, “I don’t want to. I just want to play with Myungsoo.”

With that, she ran out of her house to Myungsoo’s house down the streets. Her parents could only smile in amusement at their kid and her stubborn ways. Little Suzy stopped before the familiar metallic gates and reached for the doorbell. If she were to close her eyes the whole way, she would still be able to make her way there. Myungsoo popped his head out of the window and realized who it was. He hurriedly ducked away. Ignoring Suzy, he picked up his comic book again. She saw that the bedroom windows were left ajar. And so she persistently pressed the doorbell repeatedly. Myungsoo could only sigh in frustration before dragging himself to open the doors for her, yet again.

“Suzy, I am not playing with you today. I want to read.” Myungsoo stated.

“It’s alright. I will watch you read!” She beamed and pushed her way through.

Exasperated, Myungsoo returned to his house with an excited Suzy following behind.

“Myungsoo, I’m bored.” Suzy whined as she rolled about.

“Then pick up a book or something.” He replied without looking up.

“I don’t want to. I hate reading.” She yelled.

“Then go out and play with someone...” He said mindlessly.

“Yay! Myungsoo agreed to go out and play together!” She pumped her fist in the air.

“Hey. I didn’t say that!” He clarified, putting his book down quickly.

She pouted and stared at him with those, wide innocent eyes dangerously b with tears.

“Fine. Let’s play together.”

“Myungsoo is the best!” She said with her right thumb sticking out proudly.

Myungsoo sighed. It has always been like this. She always force her way through whether he liked it or not.

-

“What do you want to be in future?” The teacher asked.

Hands shot up into the air at her question as everyone were excited to share their ambition. The answers included teachers, lawyers, doctors, firefighter, actress, nurse, pilot and many other occupations. Indeed, kids have the most dreams. It would simply be because in their dictionary, there were no such things as ‘impossible’. Even dragons fly in their worlds, after all. Myungsoo looked around the class when he realized it was going to be his turn soon.

“So Myungsoo, what do you wish to become?”

“I-I don’t know.” He replied and looked down in embarrassment.

The class went quiet at his answer. Some students were giggling at his lack of ambition.

“Actually, I don’t know either!” Suzy announced.

She then flashed a cute smile and pats him on the shoulder. The teacher smiled upon seeing this scene.

“Indeed. It’s alright if you don’t know what you wish to be in future. Because all of you here are still young and there will bind to be changes in your ambitions next time.” She said with her hands on her hips.

Lessons resumed and the students had their activities as scheduled. Soon, it was time to go home. The kids lined up in a single file as their parents came to the school to pick them up. Toys were strewn everywhere despite the teacher’s constant reminder to put them away properly. Suzy and Myungsoo stood together in line, waiting for their parents.  Suddenly, Myungsoo turned around and stared at Suzy who glared back playfully.

“I thought you wanted to be a singer.” He pointed out.

She shrugged her shoulders and winked at him.

“Yah, Suzy! You lied to teacher!” He pointed at her accusingly.

“Esh, Kim Myungsoo. You’re supposed to say thank you.” She corrected.

“Bae Suzy, we are taught not to lie.” He reminded.

“White lie that is.” She grinned at him.

He shook his head at her. That was Bae Suzy. The girl who always made him lost for words.

Good or bad? He didn’t quite know.

-

“Myungsoo, push me! Higher! Higher!” She yelled, kicking her legs in the air.

Myungsoo huffed and puffed. He eventually fell back with his sunk in the sand. He was completely exhausted. Suzy jumped off the swing and scurried over to his side, worried.

“You alright?” she asked.

“It’s hard to push someone that high. Why don’t you try?” he complained.

“But I’m a girl!” She pouted.

“You’re strong like a bull, I thought.” He teased.

She jumped up on his feet and threw sand at him in response to his statement.

“YAH!” He shouted and started chasing her about.

The two kids got sand all over them, from head to toe. The sun shone brightly, complementing the perfect scene. They had fun and time flown past when the kids had fun, as usual. The two headed home together, dropping by a convenience store for a second. Myungsoo emptied the coins in his pocket which suffice for only an ice cream. He unwrapped the wrapper excitedly. Just when he was about to devour it, he felt a pair of eyes staring intensely beside him.

“Myungsoo, I want it too.” Suzy said.

“But Suzy, I’ve not enough money.” He replied.

Before he knew it, Suzy snatched the ice-cream from his hand. She ran and ran, eating it messily along the way. Myungsoo yelled at her from behind, asking her to leave some for him. At the end of the day, she did leave something for him. Not expecting less from Suzy, she left him a chewed ice-cream stick. Before she run back into her house to seek refuge, Suzy even stuck out her tongue at him.

“Bae Suzy, you look horrible with a green tongue!” Myungsoo made a face at her.

“Thank you for your treat, Myungsoo-ah~” She sang.

“Ugh.” Myungsoo stomped his feet unhappily.

She always acted so willfully, and he cannot do anything about her.

-

“How was first day of school?” Her mother rushed out from the kitchen.

Suzy plopped herself on the sofa and sighed. It was unusual of her and her mother couldn’t help but smile. She kind of guessed what the subject was about. After all, it was her daughter and there could only be one thing.

“Myungsoo?” she inquired.

“Mom, it’s unfair! Myungsoo got himself so many friends on just the first day. And I only found myself 2 friends.” She pouted.

Her mother sat beside her daughter and untied her ponytails.

“It doesn’t matter how many friends you have, darling. It’s true friends which matters. You’ll understand as you grow older.” She said.

Suzy stared at her mother in confusion. Ignoring that, she got up from the sofa.

“I will take a bath now and find Myungsoo later!” She beamed.

Suzy crossed her arms as she leaned against the wall with a soccer ball in hand. There was no one at home and it puzzled her. She clearly remembered seeing Myungsoo leave class. He was definitely walking in front of her outside the school gates. Then, Suzy heard a familiar laughter from faraway. She saw Myungsoo fooling around with other boys. It amazed her how Myungsoo could fit in and get along with others so easily. She could barely find another topic to talk to her new acquaintances but there he was playing around with them as if they already knew each other for years. Myungsoo stopped walking when he spotted Suzy.  The other boys eyed the girl of their age standing before them.

“Want to play soccer together, Myungsoo?” she asked innocently.

Myungsoo looked back at the boys with uneasiness lurking in his orbs.

“Err…Myungsoo, you play soccer with girls?” One of the boys said.

“Oh my gosh, I am so surprised.” Another kid remarked.

“I don’t think I want to play soccer anymore. My mum is calling.” He added.

And before Myungsoo could say anything, all of them left with barely believable reasons.

“Bae Suzy, why did you come?” he asked.

“I-I just wanted to play with you.” She said.

“I don’t want to play with you, Suzy.” He rejected harshly.

It was not the first time Suzy heard that from Myungsoo but this time, it was different.

“Th-Then, it’s okay.” Suzy managed to choke out a smile.

And since that day onwards, Suzy and Myungsoo never played together. They didn’t go to the park together to play at the playground. They didn’t go to the fields and get themselves muddy all over. They didn’t run in the rain together and yell incomprehensible words at each other anymore. Suzy missed those times and she wondered if Myungsoo did too. But he did not seem to and young Suzy felt sad.

“Why can’t we play together, Myungsoo?” she asked, eyes not leaving Myungsoo’s gates.

-

In her fifth grade of elementary school, Suzy was over the moon when she realized Myungsoo and her were attending the same Art lessons together. She swore she flew to the moon, revolved around it for a few rounds before returning to Earth. She thought it was god’s will or something to give her a righteous reason to be with Myungsoo. It made her even happier when on the first day of class, she sat beside Myungsoo and he allowed her to. That’s why Suzy loved Art lessons the most.

“Pretty?” Suzy asked.

Myungsoo stared at her drawing and raised his brows at it. Suzy fidgeted in her seat, anticipating his remarks.

“Suzy-ah. What are you drawing?” he asked, genuinely confused.

“You idiot. This is a sunflower!” She fumed.

“Sunflower?!” Myungsoo exclaimed as he laughed out loud.

Suzy’s cheeks puffed up red, both out of embarrassment and anger. She slammed the table and ran off with her sketchbook in her hands. Sitting under the tree, Suzy stared at her own drawing. She wondered whether it was really that bad. Maybe it really was because Myungsoo thought so, she concluded. Stretching her legs into the pile of dead leaves, she flipped to a new page. She drew the same sunflower over and over again until her stomach growled and her fingers ached. Getting up from the same position, she rubbed her sore .

The trip back home got a little scary because some of the street lamps were flickering non-stop. And the streets were deadly eerie. Suzy clenched her fists and pushed back her hair bravely. She chanted to herself that she was no coward but still, she quickened her footsteps. Suzy finally heaved a sigh of relief when she stopped before Myungsoo’s house. Ringing the bell once, she hugged her sketchbook and waited. Myungsoo appeared not long later in his black striped pajamas. She flipped open her sketchbook. Showing her final art piece to him, she waited. Seconds felt like years and she swore she wasn’t exaggerating. Or maybe, just a bit.

“I-It’s pretty.” He complimented in awe.

And that was all she needed to hear. After which, it didn’t matter when her parents scolded her for staying out this late. It didn’t hurt when she got beaten on her palm for not replying. All Suzy could remember was Myungsoo’s words. That night, she hugged her sketchbook to sleep with his words replaying in her mind. From then on, sunflowers weren’t the only thing Suzy drew.

-

“5, 4, 3, 2, 1.”

Suzy opened the door with an evil grin. A loud bang was heard followed by someone tumbling backwards. Suzy placed her hand over in pretense while Myungsoo groaned in pain.  He rubbed his forehead, messing up his hair in the process. She couldn’t suppress herself any longer so she laughed heartily at his misery before running off, satisfied. Myungsoo straightened himself and stared at her vanishing figure.

“Bae Suzy.”  He muttered under his breath, irritated.

Suzy straightened her skirt and set her hair properly before continuing her way. The school was crowded with students, merrily chit-chatting away. She could feel stares from others as she made her way around the school compound. It was always the case but she couldn’t care less. Anyway, living in others’ perception has always been part and parcel of life.  Hugging her textbook, she glanced around at the others expressionlessly. She thought it was fun to observe others. Sometimes, it could successfully make her feel less lonely. Then, she spotted someone. Suzy checked her watch and realized there was still time before recess ends. With a sly smile spread across her face, she walked faster.

Suzy leaned against the cold wall with her heart beating rapidly. Peeping from behind the wall, she saw him slung his arm across Sungyeol’s shoulder. Suzy learnt that Myungsoo likes hanging around Sungyeol. She figured that it was because he has a brightening effect on everyone else. His laughter always made Myungsoo laugh and she envied that fact. Watching them walk further away from her, Suzy hurriedly closed up the distance. She didn’t want to lose him. Not before recess break was over. Myungsoo entered his class and sat on the table top, still chatting with Sungyeol. From the corner of his eyes, he spotted a familiar figure lingering outside his classroom. Turning away, Myungsoo ignored Suzy who eventually left when the bell rang.

-

Myungsoo opened his textbook to find his exercise book missing. He clearly remembered leaving it between the pages before climbing into bed last night. Then, he realized who the culprit was.

Thank you for your notes. I’ll return it to you soon. ^^

-Suzy

If it was anyone else, Myungsoo would probably have gone up to her and scold the hell out of the person. He absolutely hated it when others doze off in class and return home with a blank notebook. Subsequently, they go around stealing others’ notes. However, because it was Suzy, he let it slide.

“Not taking down notes?” Sungyeol asked.

“I didn’t bring my notebook.” Myungsoo lied.

“Take mine. You write better notes than I do.” Sungyeol offered.

“Alright then.” Myungsoo took his book.

“This teacher is totally a blind old man who never notices whether everyone brought his compulsory noteb-”

Then, Sungyeol’s thoughts got interrupted.

“Lee Sungyeol, did you not bring your notebook?!” The teacher questioned, pointing his long ruler at him.

“.” Myungsoo muttered under his breath.

“Sorry sir, I had forgotten.” Sungyeol grinned.

“Stay out of class for half an hour.” He commanded.

“Yes sir.” Sungyeol bowed apologetically.

“Sorry, bro.” Myungsoo whispered.

“Treat me to lunch later.” Sungyeol winked and both of them chuckled softly.

“Bae Suzy, I’ll hide it better next time.” He made a mental note.

Suzy traced her fingers over his neat handwriting and fought back the urge to draw something on his book. She knew that Myungsoo might not let her see tomorrow’s daylight if the book was to be returned in another state. Shuddering at the thought of that, Suzy quickly copied whatever necessary. Sticking a post-it to Myungsoo’s note book, she slipped it into her bag carefully. She thought about his timetable and decided on the time to return his book without anyone’s notice. She was getting too good at this, she thought.

-

Suzy sat at a corner of the school cafeteria, eating her lunch with a book open before her. She perked up and lifted her gaze from those lines of words when she heard someone. It would probably take others seconds to recognize his voice but for her, half a second will be enough. Simply because she is Bae Suzy and he is Kim Myungsoo. Swallowing the last bit of rice, Suzy returned her tray. She sat at the table with her eyes fixated on her book. However, she was discreetly observing him from the corner of her eyes.

“They are done.” She thought to herself.

Dusting her skirt, she took her book with her in a swift moment. She controlled her steps ensuring they were soft and careful. It was not the first time and she liked how Myungsoo was kept in a distance near her. It felt fun and she cannot help but admit that a small part within her wanted Myungsoo to turn back and realize she was there. She shook her head and continued climbing the stairs. Suzy peeped through the glass panel and saw Myungsoo and his friends.

They had their hands on the rooftop ledge and were looking at girls running circles around the fields. She read their lip movement and she figured they were talking about the girls’ figures and looks. Typical, she thought. Unconsciously, she sighed and started to make her way back to class. Deep inside, something was telling her it would never be her they discuss about She was just a loner in school, wandering about and stalking her childhood friend, Kim Myungsoo. Inhaling deeply, Suzy forbade herself from thinking herself this way.

“Bae Suzy, hwaiting!” She told herself with a forced smile.

Myungsoo narrowed his eyes at a familiar figure leaving the building. He sighed upon realizing it was Suzy.

“Does she not have better things to do than following me around?” he wondered.

“Hey Myungsoo, it’s your stalker girl.” Sungyeol teased.

“Shut up, Sungyeol. You’re so irritating.” He cut him off in annoyance.

“Or is it her you find irritating?” he proposed.

Myungsoo did not answer.

-

Suzy had a satisfied grin spread across her face because she felt like a professional. Myungsoo did not show any hints of discovery and she was too proud of that fact. However, she couldn’t help but question why Myungsoo was heading to a deserted part of the school. It was definitely unusual. She stopped in her tracks too when she realized Myungsoo stopped walking. She peeped from behind the wall and realized the school angel standing before him. School angel is the nickname of Im Yoona, the prettiest, smartest and kindest girl in school.

Suzy would have scoff and question the validity of her nickname if not for her seeing Yoona give food to those abandoned kittens even before she did. They say she is a genius gifted with angelic looks and a pure gold heart. Suzy would agree to it but just a bit. Nonetheless, she cannot deny the fact that she has a large mass of fan boys chasing after her with roses and chocolates. Out of habit, Suzy gripped the hem of her skirt and bit her lips. She watched Myungsoo smile at Yoona who returned a small smile. Suzy sensed something.

“Would you go out on a date with me?” she asked.

This is it.

Suzy spun around and started running. She didn’t bother whether Myungsoo or Yoona could hear her loud footsteps because of the dead leaves crackling beneath her soles. She didn’t bother to know his answer to her question. She didn’t bother to ask her heart whether it wanted to stay. She merely wanted to run away from reality. She preferred running to a world with blooming flowers than stay and watch the rose prick her with thorns. She stopped running when she felt her sides ache. Bending over with sweat trickling down her forehead, she panted.

Her sweat has dried and Suzy found herself sitting in the library with her favourite book open. She was still at page 43 since hours ago. She could see the scene replaying before her eyes, like a movie. And she hated it because no matter how much she wishes to switch it off, she simply couldn’t.

It was haunting her.

They were haunting her.

Myungsoo was haunting her.

She sighed and closed the book. Leaving it on the shelves, she stepped out of the library.

“Im Yoona confessed to Myungsoo today!” One of the girls said out loud.

Suzy froze in position as she watched the girls pass by the corridor excitedly. Her ears began to pick up their conversation unconsciously.

“But they did not get together!” She continued.

“Why? Why?” she questioned.

“It seems like Yoona went to ask him out because of a dare and before Myungsoo could respond, she clarified it was a dare!” She said.

“Oh my gosh. They are so perfect together. If I see them get together this life, I will die a thousand times!” She squealed.

Totally dramatic.

Suzy rolled her eyes and found her next schedule for the day: tracking him down. She was literally skipping her way around the school with an idiotic grin across her face. She stopped when she saw Myungsoo playing the basketball, alone. It was again unusual because the Myungsoo she knew hated being alone. He needs companionship and thus, he always stays in groups. And that was also the reason why she couldn’t get close to him because it was no longer her he wishes to have solely as a companion. He needed others, not just Bae Suzy in his life. Suzy sat at the bench faraway which provided her a good view. She then took her sketch book out. Not long later, a shadow towered over her and a droplet of sweat fell to the ground.

“It surrendered itself to the law of gravity.” She thought silently.

“Why are you here, Suzy?” he questioned.

“Can’t I be here?” she asked.

“Why do you always follow me around?” he questioned her again.

Suzy absolutely hated the tone he was using to talk to her right now.

“It’s my choice, isn’t it?” She stared at him defiantly.

“But it’s irritating.” He said coldly.

Suzy felt something.

“Because of you, my friends are constantly laughing at how I have a stalker girl following me around.” The words left his mouth, harsher than expected.

“Stalker girl...” She repeated his words softly.

There was a pang in her heart and it hurt so much that she couldn’t breathe for a second. She wanted to brush his words aside and smile like before, like how she did when she was young but she couldn’t. She simply couldn’t. Because she was not the same, old, ignorant young Suzy. She is a teenage girl with feelings. She could feel hurt too, just like anyone else. And because it came from Myungsoo, the hurt was magnified more than a hundred times.

“You know, I thought you didn’t know I was following you… Sometimes, I stupidly hope you knew.” She confessed.

Myungsoo didn’t say anything. He slowly looked away, avoiding making eye contact with her.

“I am sorry for following you around like a lost puppy and for being nothing but ridicule to you and your friends.” Suzy finished off her words with much difficulty.

“S-Suzy, actually I didn’t me-” He turned to her in slight desperation.

“K-Kim Myungsoo. Don’t worry, I’ll stop.” She cut in, looking straight into his eyes.

“Stop?” Myungsoo repeated her word with uncertainty.

“I will stop following you since that is what you want.” She promised with a sad smile.

He didn’t manage to say a second word because she had run away. She had run away from his side, leaving behind a sketch book. Myungsoo dropped himself on the bench, feeling weird inside. It felt like emptiness as he picked up her sketch book with his half-drawn profile.

“Fool.” He muttered under his breath.

-

“Suzy, I thought you wanted to curl your hair on the coming Saturday?” Her mother asked.

“Not anymore.” Suzy answered, staring blankly ahead.

“Why?” she asked.

“Mom, I am tired. Would you leave me alone?” She mumbled before burying her head in her knees.

When she was certain her mother return to the kitchen, Suzy broke down in tears. With all her heart, she hated Myungsoo.

Suzy returned to school, dragging her feet beneath her reluctantly. She dreaded going to school but it was not as if it was an option. She sat in class and took down notes from time to time because she knew she cannot sneak into Myungsoo’s class and steal his notebook any longer. Suzy took her time to eat during recess break because she had nothing to do after which. She could no longer go wandering around the school compound in search of him. He didn’t want to play this game with her, anymore.

For the entire day Myungsoo, Myungsoo, Myungsoo keep entering her mind.

The weak defenses in her mind were pointless.

“Myungsoo!” Sungyeol shouted.

Suzy froze in position when she heard his name. She saw him standing just a stone’s throw away from her. Suzy bit her lips and slowly spun on her heels. She began walking, in the opposite direction, away from him. Even though her house was in the same direction, opposite of where she was going, she kept walking. Myungsoo stared as he watched Suzy walk further and further. Her back view looked solemn and he despised himself knowing part of the reason was him.

“Suzy.” He called out in his heart.

Sungyeol realized who he was looking at but he said nothing. The very next second, Sungyeol and friends dragged Myungsoo to play billiard with them.

“Day 1.” Suzy thought to herself, squatting beneath a tree.

“First day not following Kim Myungsoo. Good job on that, Suzy.” She praised herself with a smile.

Then, something else fell with the pull of gravity.

-

Day 7

Today, I saw Myungsoo playing basketball with Sungyeol. I resisted the urge to sit on the bench, pull out my sketch book and capture the moment when Myungsoo cheered for getting the ball in. I mentally captured the scene but I couldn’t draw it out just now. Because it was too suffocating. I ended up doodling hearts all over the paper while thinking of him. And then, I realized the hearts I drawn were all broken. Just like mine.

Bae Suzy, you’re pathetic.

Day 12

Today, I thought I saw Myungsoo staring at me for a moment. It got my hopes high. But the next moment, I took a roller coaster ride down. Because I realized Yoona was seated behind me. I want to laugh and cry at my stupidity and foolishness. I think I know why Myungsoo flared up that day.

Bae Suzy, you should stop already.

Day 16

I am weird, irksome, irritating, foolish and scary.
Most people in school probably think of me that way, including Myungsoo. And I’m starting to feel maybe they are right. Today, I walked the routes which I used to follow Myungsoo on tip-toes. I missed those times. The pounding feeling in my heart seeing him in front of me. I always been waiting for him to turn around and say ‘I like you’. But he never did.

Bae Suzy, dream on and still, it will never come true.

Day 20

Kim Myungsoo. He’s all I ever wanted and all I cannot get. Today, he seem further from me than ever. The distance is so, so far…

Bae Suzy, you ought to stop holding onto someone who isn’t yours to begin with.

Suzy closed the notebook and brushed away those tears b in her eyes. She got off the bench, walking towards the school gate. Thunder roared above her and she knew what was coming. She needed it though, to clear him out of her mind. For the first time in her life, she was glad that she didn’t carry an umbrella. Suzy released her hair and walked, anticipating the rain to fall. Myungsoo spotted Suzy from afar and he stayed where he was. When she left, he came out of hiding. Sungyeol ditched school and today, he was grateful for that.

“Suzy left this behind.” Myungsoo thought to himself and picked it up.

He played with the book in his hand and after much contemplation, he flipped it open. As he read the pages, his heart clench tighter and tighter. It was suffocating to read her confessions. He didn’t know. He truly didn’t know he was causing her so much harm. Before he knew it, Myungsoo found himself running like a mad man. It was pouring heavily outside. Myungsoo stopped when he saw a girl standing in the pour, crying her heart out. She wasn’t all smiles like how she always appeared around him in the past. He walked closer, step by step, closing up the distance. Suzy could barely make out who it was because of her blurry vision.

“Suzy.” He called out.

“Why are you here?” she questioned.

“I followed you.” He answered truthfully.

“Are we at this again?” she scoffed.

“Suzy, I-” Myungsoo tried to say something.

Suzy realized what he was holding and so she snatched it from him. Tears flowed down her eyes and she find herself yelling at him, “You read everything, didn’t you?”

He nodded in shame.

“Is it fun?! Myungsoo, I am pathetic in your eyes, right?” she asked.

Myungsoo didn’t know what to say so he wrapped his arms around her petite body. She struggled underneath his grip but he refused to let go. She cried into his uniform, still struggling but to no avail.

“Bae Suzy, I am sorry.” He said.

She stopped hitting him but those tears refused to stop.

“W-What are you sorry for?” she choked out between tears.

“I am sorry for realizing this late that…I like you too.” He confessed.

“I don’t need sympathy, Myungsoo.” She muttered.

“Bae Suzy, I am not sympathizing with you!” He half-shouted.

“I want to tell you something. This time, keep quiet, listen to me and let me do the talking.” He said.

She remained silent.

“Suzy, stop following me around already. Stay with me, or rather this time, let me follow you.” He spoke his heart.

Suzy wanted to push him away and act like a brat, but she couldn’t. At his words, her heart has long surrendered. Because she is Bae Suzy and he is Kim Myungsoo. Like a moth attracted to fire, she cannot say otherwise. The rain stopped miraculously and grey clouds above them cleared. There wasn’t any rainbow in the sky though but it didn’t quite matter. Myungsoo laced his fingers tightly with Suzy’s. Beautiful smiles graced both of their lips.

“Your friends are going to laugh at you for getting together with your stalker girl.” Suzy teased.

“True friends wouldn’t. I need you more than untrue friends.” He said proudly, holding onto her hand even more tightly.

“I guess mum is right.” She thought to herself.

“Yah, Bae Suzy.” Myungsoo called out.

Suzy snapped out of her thoughts, turned to her right and was met with a pleasant surprise. She found her lips met against his. She almost stumbled backwards but he caught her just in time. Her lips were sweet, as expected. Myungsoo smiled victoriously before breaking the kiss. Seconds later, Suzy covered and pointed at Myungsoo. The things she blabbered subsequently were unimportant because Myungsoo knew she enjoyed the kiss. She was just being her, denying with all her might. And that was another thing he liked about Bae Suzy.

-

Suzy picked up the black crane on her table and  smiled. Unfolding it, she found some words scribbled on it.

Day 1

We have just started official and don’t you dare dump me in the near future. Because I’m gonna follow you and catch you.

-Myungsoo

Suzy smiled as she folded the crane back. For the rest of the lessons, she wasn’t listening. She played with the crane and doodled hearts all over her textbook. The boy leaning against the lockers, smiled at the scene before him. Satisfied, he began walking back to his class.

“Yah, Myungsoo. Where have you been? You took so long in the toilet!” Sungyeol said.

“Just… stalking someone.” Myungsoo replied with a casual shrug.

Sungyeol smiled at his words but deep down inside, he felt hurt.

P.s. I guess you didn't have time or forgot to proofcheck but I spotted some grammatical and tense errors ^^"
