Weeks went by. Changhyun frowned at the lack of the development between Chanhee and Byunghun. He wasn’t sure himself why he wanted a friendship to blossom so badly from those two, but he worked towards it with all his strength.

They were his two best friends, and things would just be easier if everyone got along, wouldn’t it?

He decided to restrain himself and wait for a while, to see if things would unfold. Both boys were fairly awkward people, and it took some time to soften them up. But after the fourth week of forcing those two to hang out together and achieving zero out from it, Changhyun decided that he needed to get the ball rolling.

Changhyun had managed to get both boys back at his house once again. He sent Chanhee to get him a glass of water in the kitchen, and while Chanhee was away, he told Byunghun that he heard his phone ringing from upstairs.

“Why the hell is my phone upstairs?!” Byunghun sighed in irritation and trudged up the stairs.

Changhyun mentally scolded himself. He should have thought of a better excuse. But there was no time. He ran into the kitchen, waving his arms like a madman. “Hyung! Byunghun hyung is in trouble! He’s upstairs in my room, I think he’s hurt!” Changhyun shouted madly into Chanhee’s left ear. Chanhee dropped the glass cup he was holding into the sink, and raced upstairs at Changhyun’s words.

Changhyun was close behind him, grinning from ear to ear. Mission is successful! This is gonna work! Chanhee burst into Changhyun’s room, nearly ripping the door open and looking around, expecting to find Byunghun in distress. Instead, Byunghun was busy looking for his phone that Changhyun said was ‘ringing’. “I’m sorry it’s come to this, hyungs!”

Changhyun gave them a peace sign before slamming the door on them, locking them inside. Both boys froze in their tracks, staring at the door. They heard a click sound, as Changhyun locked them inside from the outside.

Byunghun marched up to the door and slammed on it with his fists. “Changhyun, open this door right now! Do you hear me?!”

Chanhee just blinked. A part of him was actually glad that this happened. More time with Byunghun. He felt as if things between him and the other were awkward because Changhyun was forcing themselves onto the each other.

He didn’t know why he so desperately wanted a good friendship with Byunghun. I’m better than her. Just let me show you. But he quickly shook his thoughts away. “What are you thinking, Lee Chanhee? You don’t like him! You’ve never liked him.” He muttered to himself, shaking his head at himself. What was wrong with him? Chanhee never had a serious, committed relationship. He flitted around, doing what he liked when he liked. Never had he felt so…attached.

“Chanhee, I know this is a weird situation and all but I can do nothing with you talking to yourself like that.” Byunghun noted. Chanhee put on an annoyed expression, plopping himself onto Changhyun’s bed. “You can try whatever you want, Changhyun isn’t letting us out. He’s locked inside, idiot. What’re you going to do, rip the door off its hinges?” Chanhee retorted, a sort of defence mechanism as he silently hoped that Byunghun hadn’t heard what he had said.

“Yeah, I’ll rip the door off its hinges, and maybe I’ll throw it at you for being so goddamn annoying.” Byunghun snapped, ruffling his hair in frustration. Yup, he definitely did not hear what I said.

“I know you like it, Lee Byunghun. Your face says it all.” Chanhee smirked, staring up at the ceilings as his hands rested on his stomach.

Byunghun felt himself blush slightly, willing for it to go away before Chanhee looked at him again.

“Did Changhyun tell you that?” He sneered, pressing his back against the door and sitting on the floor. Secretly, he was enjoying the bickering that was taking place between him and Chanhee. It was amusing, entertaining. Chanhee never failed to surprise him, while Miyoung was the same every day—always asking him how his day went, if he ate, if he was tired, if he was doing okay. He was thankful, but he wanted something…more. Something that kept him on his toes. However, almost instantly after he had thought that, he began to feel guilty. Miyoung was putting so much into their relationship. She wasn’t stupid, she must have realized that he was slowly distancing himself, and he was less than enthusiastic. When he had come to the conclusion that he needed to start being a better boyfriend to Miyoung, Chanhee replied.

“He might have. He really wants us to be friends, that pabo.” Chanhee grinned playfully, fixing his fringe with one hand.

“That kid needs a hobby, seriously. Who knows when he’ll let us out.” Byunghun sighed, biting his lower lip.

Chanhee looked back at Byunghun. The boy seemed a bit worried about being locked in a room with him. He’s always the one that’s uncomfortable with every situation. He needs to lighten up.

Byunghun immediately locked his eyes with Chanhee, his eyes narrowing. “You don’t seem at all fazed by this. Were you in cahoots with him?!”

Chanhee scoffed. “Yeah, because the first thing I want is to be locked up in a room with you. My definition of fun.”

“Don’t get all sarcastic with me, mister.”

“Shut up.”

“You shut up.”
