Even after Youngjae baked cookies for the both of them, Daehyun would still poke him – on his tummy, on his arms – just to get a giggle from him. It was funny for the first couple of days, but soon, it became annoying to the point that Youngjae only found relief when he avoided Daehyun.

With the time that he used to spend with the older boy, Youngjae decided to take up Jongup’s offer on working out with him, and the latter proved to be good company. The younger boy didn’t make unnecessary skinship but, in fact, helped him lose some of the fat Daehyun found himself wanting to poke.

“Hyung, didn’t Daehyun hyung only poke you to get you to laugh?” Jongup asked one day, while he was timing Youngjae as the latter did push-ups.

“Yeah, but I don’t want to be poked all the time,” Youngjae breathed.

“Have you tried talking to him about this, though?” The younger boy moved his eyes from his hyung to look at the stopwatch. “15 seconds left, by the way.”

Youngjae grunted in response. “As long as I’m not around, he won’t poke me.”

The older boy finished a couple more push-ups, and then the device beeped. He maneuvered his body so that he sat on floor, trying to catch his breath.

“56,” Jongup said. “Not bad, hyung. Maybe if you work out your arms more, you might be able to defend yourself from Daehyun hyung’s poke attacks.”

Youngjae laughed lightly and dodged Jongup’s finger when it looked like he was about to be poked. “That’s the plan.”
