Cousins' Background
My Foster Guardian Lu HanCrash - B.A.P
Chapter 10: Cousins’ Background.
The whole week was allotted for recital practices and students just can’t help but rejoice for there’ll be no classes all week long. I, on the other hand, just became more tired than ever. Doing the routine for the nth time, I almost couldn’t feel anything at all. My body already became numb. All those body waves, hip s, and head swirling moves became nothing to me. Even all of Sehun’s attempts in physically harassing me weren’t effective anymore. My body which’s not used to skinships, already became accustomed to it.
If I get a low grade for this recital then I swear, all hell would break loose in front of Kim Joonmyun.
Guiding my face close to his, Sehun and I looked at each other for a brief moment before turning to the mirror to look at our final pose. Fortunately, even though we were tired and stressed, the bickering lessened. Maybe because the both of us wishes for the same thing, and that is for this performance to end successfully.
We quickly detached ourselves from each other’s arms when a few knocks were suddenly heard by the door. Both Sehun and I turned towards the direction, only to see Mr. Kim smiling proudly at us.
“Now that wasn’t so bad, was it?” Mr. Kim said, crossing his arms still in a smile. “You two look awesome—“
“Mr. Kim, I’d kindly appreciate it if you don’t push things further.” I said blankly.
Sehun walked towards the bench and sat down beside his bag. He then fished out his bottled water and towel before doing his own things. Looks like we’re having a short break.
“Ah Jaera, come here. I need to talk to you for a bit.” Mr. Kim called, looking at some of the papers he was holding.
I turned to look at Sehun and saw him fiddling with his phone. Meh, it wouldn’t hurt to stop practicing for awhile. I walked out of the room and turned to Mr. Kim.
“What do you want?” I asked blatantly, startling Mr. Kim. “I mean, is there something you need from me, Mr. Kim?”
“Here.” Mr. Kim said, handing a piece of colourful paper to me. I scanned its contents and saw the details for the semestral recital.
“What do you want me to do with this?”
“Could you please hand it out to Lu Han-ssi for me? We’re also inviting the parents and guardians this year so I’m expecting for his attendance.” Mr. Kim smiled, but I could feel a threatening vibe in him—or maybe I’m just imagining things.
“I’m not sure if he could come.” I replied, folding the paper sloppily. “I mean, he’s a busy person and all…”
“I’m inviting him, not you, so don’t speak for him. Okay?” Mr. Kim said, still with that knowing smile. I swear, this guy’s just creepy.
“Okay…” I said, raising an eyebrow when I saw two classmates of mine approaching our direction.
“Mr. Kim! We were looking everywhere for you!” Haeri, one of my classmates, hollered. She was holding stacks of papers, probably home works to be passed to Mr. Kim. She is the class president, anyway.
“Oh Haeri, what’s all this?” Mr. Kim asked, walking up to Haeri to help her with the papers.
“These are the home works from class 1.” Haeri said, before explaining some other things to Mr. Kim and I swear, I saw a look of a ‘maiden-in-love’ from her.
Lim Haeri’s not your stereotype class president. She doesn’t wear long skirts, she doesn’t button up her shirt to the highest button, she doesn’t wear braids, she doesn’t wear glasses, and of course, she’s not a nerd. She’s actually pretty and there are quite a lot of guys that are aiming for her. I don’t blame them though for Haeri’s soft-hearted and kind to everybody—the sole reason why she was elected.
Though that’s the case, her vision only consists of Mr. Kim and no one else.
“Oi Park Soyeol,” I called Soyeol, another classmate of mine who was with Haeri. “She just doesn’t learn, huh.”
Park Soyeol is Haeri’s best friend but their personalities are totally unalike. Haeri’s the model student that is basically nice to everybody, while Soyeol, on the other hand, is the mischievous student that always gets into trouble and mess. She’s also liked by many but her personality’s the one hindering her from being courted by others—though I think she doesn’t really care. If I must say, Soyeol’s kind of like me but she’s harsher—more of like over the edge.
Now if it wasn’t for Haeri, then Soyeol’s probably kicked out of school by now. Maybe that’s the reason why they got so close. Soyeol and I are pretty much the same, except that I don’t have a best friend like she does
“Yeah Kim Jaera, you know how Lim Haeri has the hots for Kim Joonmyun.” Soyeol replied, crossing her arms while shaking her head unhappily. “I don’t even know what the hell that chick sees in that old man.”
“Why not? Kim Joonmyun actually looks pretty young for his old age.”
“So now the infamous Kim Jaera also has the hots for the young teacher Kim Joonmyun?” Soyeol smirked, wriggling her eyebrows at me playfully. “I thought you and Oh Sehun were going steady?”
I gave her a look of disbelief before heaving a heavy sigh. “First and foremost, I am not into older guys. Second, I would never get into that kind of relationship with a guy named Oh Sehun. And lastly, I don’t even know why we’re calling each other by our full names.”
“I don’t know, don’t ask me.” Soyeol said, shrugging. We were watching Mr. Kim and Haeri converse with each other when Soyeol suddenly turned to me with a sly smile. “But hey, you and Sehun are partners for the upcoming recital, right?”
“Yeah, and so?”
“And you’re going to perform live .”
“Yeah and—wait, what?”
“I’m going to take a video of your live and sell it to the whole school.” Soyeol smiled smugly, rubbing her hands together like a sinister villain. “I bet it’ll bring me a fortune! If you want, I could also give you a small share—“
“Do that and I bet you won’t see another tomorrow.” I cut her off, giving her a sarcastic smile as she backed away playfully.
“And I’m supposed to be the villain here!” Soyeol said, chuckling idiotically.
Soyeol and I are good friends actually, but I don’t think it’ll be wise if the two of us stick together always. I mean, who would stop her evil ways? I can stop her but the faculty members won’t listen to me. Hey, I’m a scholar but I have a pretty bad record with Mr. Kim for all those cutting classes.
“But I’m really excited for your live —“
“It’s not a freaking , damn it!”
“Trouble Maker is also considered as ! If not real then a potential !”
“Since when did a K-pop song become ?”
“I don’t know,” Soyeol shrugged. “It’s either ever since cube released it, or the day when you and Sehun started practicing it.”
We were busy bickering with each other when I noticed Mr. Kim and Haeri have already stopped speaking and were watching us weirdly. “Jaera, Soyeol, the two of you are girls so it’s not befitting if you speak of words like that. Why don’t you act more like Haeri? She’s a very nice girl.”
“I’m not, Mr. Kim.”
“Of course you are.” Upon hearing Mr. Kim’s comment, Haeri instantly blushed and it’s actually pretty cute.
“Ah, young and forbidden love.” Soyeol said, looking over at the two like a proud mother. “Maybe I should also help them realize their love for each other? I mean I already helped Sehun—“
Upon realizing what she just said, Soyeol’s eyes widened as I narrowed my eyes on her. “What the hell did you do this time?”
“Chill dude, I just gave your number to him.” Soyeol said, shrugging. “You mad, bro?”
I rolled my eyes at her and di
