Before The Paradise
Description
“What if you died for man you never loved?”
It was common practice. Their sons would die of accidents, fights, or other causes and they would come to the temple, riddled in grief, but searching. They would look at the various girls, select one, and hand it to the owner who would merely smile and lead them to his office: it was business.
Then, few days later, another girl would disappear, like she had never been there before.

The Info
This is an entry for ❝ Fearless ❞ A One-Shot Writing Contest, story idea adopted from I Came to Read, I Stayed to Write. Poster and BG from Miso Ensoleillé ☼ - GRAPHICS
The idea for the story is related to a Chinese tradition, where you place one's while with whoever passed to the afterlife, so they'll never be alone; but there are many sons who die without wives, so parents will pay a man for his service to kill a woman and bury her body in a traditional wedding dress with the "groom".
