I saw Luhan today. He was smiling brightly, a grin matching that perfectly matched his new haircut. He even gave me a small smile that really made my day. He’s adored by a ton of girls at school, which makes the competition for his attention (and affection) harder than ever. Who wouldn’t like him? He could dance and sing, he’s active in the school paper, he’s an aspiring leader, and he has a good heart.

“I can’t love you.” Luhan said seriously, his gaze piercing through me.

 

“W-why?” My tears were on the brim, ready to fall any minute.

“Do you have a girlfriend? Do you like someone else? Is there something wrong with me?” I pestered.

 

“No.. I’m..” He looked to the sky, closed his eyes, then sighed deeply.

 

“I’m gay.”
