Daehyun: Valkyr of the Gods
Description
Daehyun was just a Valkyr, one of Odin's servants in Asgard. For millenia, he and his brothers, Himchan and Jongup, had been collecting the souls of fallen heroes to prepare for the final battle: Ragnarok. They were nothing more than divine beings born for that purpose, or so the gods reminded them often enough.
Sent to Midgard in his brothers' stead, Daehyun finds and recruits many Einherjar for the ongoing war, including the warrior Zelo, the mage Youngjae, and... the thief Yongguk who insists he knew the Valkyr as a human when they were growing up.
When the wheels of fate begin to turn, everything Daehyun thought he knew about the world he lives in will be challenged and he may find that the love of one human can change everything.
But will Daehyun's revelations stop the Twilight of the Gods or bring it to fruition instead?
Foreword
Among the nine realms, humans call the plane of Midgard home. It is there that they live and die by the harsh realities of their world, knowing one day they will all perish and end up in one of two places: Nifleheim, the land of the dead where those of more mundane passings travel in due time, or the Halls of Valhalla in Asgard, where battle worthy warriors are guided by Odin's servants, the Valkyrs.
There is little reward for leading a good existence and there are many mortals among the living who wish for more than banishment to the cold wastes of Hel's domain when they die. Hard times breed harsh people and the world is changing as it ever has. They can feel it as days go by and the world itself seems to wither more with each passing sunset. Something is about to happen and often times it is every person for themself.
Family ties mean little when the possibility of starvation is real. A crown is a fitting price for immortality, some might say. Betrayal can be bought by the highest bidder, or given for free on a whim. And sacrifice for the sake of honor or another's life is no guarantee of praise.
The gods and immortals above see everything from the plane of Asgard, but they have their own concerns to deal with in the dwindling of their days. Odin, the All Father and King of the gods, along with the rest of his cohort, seeks to find a way to prevent their prophesied deaths in the coming of Ragnarok. There are great forces waiting to drive them into oblivion though.
Enemies of the gods all, giants, dark elves, and terrible monsters linger in the shadows, biding their time.
And none know what the Lord of the Undead intends in the coming of the end.
The only thing the Valkyr Daehyun, and his brothers Himchan and Jongup, know, is that they must recruit as many soldiers for this battle as they can before they join the ranks themselves. And even that may not be half as simple as it might seem.

Inspired by a dream I had, I intend to blend Valkyrie Profile (the Playstation One JRPG) with more Norse mythology and I will use BAP members as my primary cast alongside several of the Norse deities and magical creatures. If you are familiar with the game, then you will know that the main character is otherwise known as a Valkyrie but I will be changing it to Valkyr since Daehyun is reprising the role of my main lead.
For those not familiar with the imagery of Valkyrie Profile, this is the character and template that the Valkyr Daehyun is based off of:
Since I am pulling from the game, there will be some loose similarities insofar as story goes but I do intend to change it up a great deal as well while bringing in more of the Norse mythos and Pantheon of gods.
