It's For The Best...

Description

Sometimes in life, it's better to know nothing as it might hurts you...

Foreword

I decided to post this for Cassies Day....

Happy Cassies Day! ^^

The sun shined brightly seeping through a window into a white room. The sounds of birds chirping happily woke me up from my beautiful dreamland. I tossed and the bed with a soft-purple blanket covered my body.

Bang!

I jumped out of the bed as a loud bang was heard and went near the wooden door to eavesdrop but heard nothing. Only then I noticed that I was alone in the room. Where is he? The door creaked as I opened it. I peered at the living room but saw nothing and my heart beat so fast as the house was in ominous silence. I came out from my room and was about to go to the kitchen when…..

“Boo!!” a loud yet gentle voice startled me.

A well-built man stood in front of me, smiling in amused as he succeeded in tricking me. I tried to smack him but he quickly ducked like an expert.

“Yunho hyeong! You almost put my heart to a stop!” I stated as a matter of fact.

“Good morning, you sleepy-head! Looks like I’ve to hit the frying-pans together everyday to wake you up,”

“You should consider again, hyeong. Who knows that frying pans might hit your head instead?”

“Is that a threat?”

I smirked at him and went into the bathroom to freshen myself up. Our lives are hectic even if it’s just the two of us. Two? Five people used to live in this simple apartment – Yunho hyeong and I and three of his bestfriends; Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu. But they had moved out from the house. It’s been three years and still no news from them. I don’t know what had happened between Yunho hyeong and them because he doesn’t want to talk about them.

“Changmin-ah, don’t tell me you’ve just fallen asleep in there?!”

“I’m not!” I can heard him chuckled. I took a quick shower and proceeded to do my weekend routine. I went to the kitchen to have a breakfast with Yunho hyeong.

“Changmin-ah, I can’t accompany you to buy books today, unless, you help me to clean up this house, eottae?”

“Shiro,” I gave a short but curt answer. He just simply nodded knowing that I’m a lazy person to give him a hand.

It’d been an hour but I still couldn’t find the books that I wanted. How can hundreds of shops in this town and yet, not even one had it! I gave up and decided to go home as the sky started to show a sign of downpour. I wondered what Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu hyeong are doing right now. I can’t help it but keep thinking about them. They were very nice. Five of us were closed like a family because we only had each other to lean on since we came from an orphanage. They leave us to achieve their dreams and wanted some freedom. That was what Yunho hyeong told me.

It started to rain cats and dogs when I reached the apartment. I was about to enter the house when I heard the sound of glass smashing against the floor. I stood rooted to the ground as I didn’t know what to do. I heard people yelling inside the house.

“That’s Yunho hyeong’s voice,” I thought.

Then, I heard voices started to yell. I can’t hear clearly what did they said but I knew those familiar voices. They were Jaejoong’s, Yoochun’s and Junsu’s.

“Are they fighting?” I mumbled to myself.

I didn’t know whether I should interfere or not. Suddenly, the door sprang opened and the three of them were surprised to see me standing like a statue in front of the door. They just walked passed me. I was confused whether to go to Yunho hyeong or chase after them whom I missed dearly. I ran after them automatically.

“Jaejoong hyeong!” I called out for him. They stopped in their tracks and turned to see me and gave me a long bear-hug.

“We miss you so much,” said Junsu.

“Please take care of yourself and Yunho,” Jaejoong whispered to me.

“Bear in mind that we’ll always love you,” uttered Yoochun. And with that, they quickly went into the lift and left me dumbfounded. I tried to restrain myself from crying.

“Is that our last goodbye?” afraid of the answer to my question, I ran to Yunho hyeong in the house. He was cleaning up the mess and pretending like nothing had happened.

“What was that?” I asked. He kept his mouth shut and that made me pissed off.

“Stop treating me like a kid! I know something is amiss when they decided to move! But you keep saying everything is fine but nothing’s fine! Please hyeong, don’t keep me in the dark,” I pleaded to him.

He ignored me and walked to his room. Feeling frustrated I went to his room demanding for the answer. I kept yelling at him but I froze when the transparent-pearls streamed down on his cheeks. For the first time in my life, I saw him crying. No matter how painful it was, he never let his guard down. He believed that he had to be strong for me. I hugged him.

“I’m sorry,” I said. It was hard for him to blurt it out and I should be more understanding instead of forcing him to tell me the truth.

“I’m sorry, hyeong. I didn’t mean to yell at you. All I want is the five of us to be together and be happy just like before,”

“Changmin-ah, it’s impossible for us to do that. It’ll never be the same,”

I tried to persuade him to spill the beans but he calmly shook his head and smiled. He looked at the picture on the wall; the picture of five of us. He got up and announced that he needed some fresh air and walked to the door.

“Sometimes it’s better to know nothing than knowing something,” he said before he left and closed the door behind him quietly.
