Seven years later...
"Hell, mom, no! I don't want to get married yet," Luhan protested and massaged his forehead using his free hand while the other was holding his phone tightly on his ears, almost crushing it in frustration. "Yeah, yeah. I don't need you to pair me up with anyone. I'm already in a steady relationship. It's just that... I don't plan to get married. At least, not yet." That was a lie. He did not have a girlfriend nor he was in a serious relationship. All he had after his last break-up were flings and some one night stands with many women and men he couldn't remember the faces and names anymore. He was still mending a broken heart––it had just been three months––how could he possibly have someone to marry? His heart was still in a fragile condition. He's still afraid to give his heart to someone, because his heart still belongs to a certain person. "But son, I already want to play with my grandchild. I'm already old and who knows? With my age, different types of sickness will approach me and I might not be able to play with your child anymore if you still delay your marriage with that supposedly girlfriend-of-yours that I haven't even heard of. Luhan, please, just this once, okay?" There was desperation and pleading on his mom's voice that Luhan was suddenly starting on considering on finally settling down. Why not? His mom had not wished anything from him since he was young while all she did was to work hard to support his education. Now that he was finally capable of giving anything to her in return, why would he decline? He'll just get married anyways, and give her a grandchild she was persistent to play with. But with who? Ah, maybe he could just borrow Sehun from Chanyeol and let him play with his mom? Chanyeol and Kris will definitely kill me, so big NO. Heaving a deep sigh, Luhan composed himself and half-heartedly answered, "Okay, fine. I'll just prepare everything and if she agrees to marry me, I'll let you know." He said in defeat, face looking as gloomier as before. There was an earsplitting cheer of victory from the other line and that was when Luhan decided to end the call. Swinging his office chair, he rested his head on its back support and closed his eyes. The only sound that he could hear was the noise that was coming from the air-conditioner.
