“Watch out! A genius is making a way~” A bunch of girls chirped along at the corridor. Teasing me, the nerd girl of the school was their hobby ever since the first year of the school had been started

“Be careful, she can read your mind.” A chuckle could be heard by me from one of those girls I didn’t give them any response but only walked through the corridor

“What? You say what? She’s a coz she just had one night stand with your uncle last night??” Now, they all were burst out the laughter towards me, they called me ‘’ after they called me ‘’ yesterday. Those words were having same meaning in my dictionary

I just walked through them all in the morning before class started, right in front of my eyes, I could see a girl with long black hair running towards me. Krystal, a princess of the school whom many boys hit on her without any exception was my best friend.

“AMBER!” A beautiful crescent were plastered on her face, I could see it clearly when she was standing right in front of me. “C’mon, we get inside the class. There’s something that we should talk about.” She winked before she grasped my wrist and brought me to the class

I sat beside Krystal and another friend of mine named Sulli sat in front of us. ‘Sulli is cute’ people thought and said she was like that. She was cheerful and she was national little sister for us in this school.

“Tomorrow, we’ll go to the mall and we’ll meet Krystal’s sister, Jessica. You join us, okay?” Sulli told me as she asked me to join them to go to the mall, I wasn’t the type of outgoing girl and this wasn’t my thing at all

“I’m sorry, Friday is time for me to study.”

“No. Friday is time for us to have fun!” Sulli raised her tone but still it sounded cute

Krystal slapped my arms and I could see her pouted lips. “AMBER!! Every day is the day for you to study! You’re always with your thick books even in your dreams. Please, just separate them from you for awhile and we have fun together.” She started to give me a smile on her face slowly and I couldn’t reject it when Sulli started doing her aegyo towards me.

“I’ll think about it.” I replied without any word came from mouth anymore

Class had started, the teacher brought a new student into our class. Blonde, tall height, rigid face, looked cold, sharp nose and….. “Handsome” I mouthed and I almost mumbled it out of the blue but hurriedly, I covered my mouth with my palm. I felt like there was someone who just whispered and insisted me to say that

“Kris Wu, that’s my name. Just call me Kris. I’m from Canada but don’t worry, I can speak Korean very well so that you guys can converse to me comfortably. It’s very nice to see you all.” He spoke as he gave us a warm smile from his face and my thought was completely wrong about him. He is nice

His voice was tickling my ears, this boy got a deep, big yet calming voice, I like it. Soon, when I mouthed those words, his eyes directed to me and a gummy smile spread on his face only for me

He directed to the empty chair which was across my chair. He joined our soccer star of the school, Choi Minho and after that, Chanyeol the tower of the class gave him a bro fist. Kris was very social, I could tell that only by watching him for one good minute

I smiled a little when I was admiring him but I immediately switched my eyes to the teacher in front of the class when I knew he caught me seeing him like a stalker. I could tell he smiled at me from the corner of my eyes…

Time passed very fast, school had ended. Krystal and Sulli went home together leaving me alone at the school library. A voice came suddenly and I could hear it although it was unclear. It was quite familiar in my ears and the words which were coming from it were more like spell than a lecture

I stood up from my seat and approached where the voice was coming. I searched for it and there he was. Kris Wu, a transferred student from Canada whom I admired a lot during the class and he distracted my mind from the subjects in the class

“Hi.” I greeted him, I could see he hurriedly closed the book and shifted his sight to my figure

“Amber, right?” He pointed my face with his long index finger. He stood up and he was quite tall compared to me

I nodded. “Kris?” I asked him back and then, he his hand forward asking for me a shake hands

“You’re studying?” He asked me and I just nodded because I was too amused by his handsomeness. “I just finished and I am about to go home. May you accompany me? Can we go home together?”

Time had stopped, his words were glued in my mind. I didn’t know if this was dream or not. A handsome boy who was soon to be popular were asking me to go home with him. I couldn’t let out any word in front of him and it was ashamed

I didn’t know how but I found myself was already in front of the school, my hand was in his. We walked side by side along the road. “Are you okay?”

“Huh?” I looked up at his eyes which looked down at me. “Yeah, it’s just…”

“You like me?”

He just shot me, it was like he was able to read my mind. “Pardon?”

He laughed a bit and pinched my left cheek lightly. “A smartest girl of our school likes me, should I be thankful because I am the luckiest boy right now?”

I was still searching for good words but I couldn’t find them to answer him. “Excuse me?”

He made us stop walking and see each other’s eyes very clearly. “School, calculus, physics, biology, chemistry, subject, subject, subject, mom, dad, sister, friends and…….. me?” He ended it with such a beautiful smile

Wait a second, did he just tell what was in my mind? “What?” I made sure of what I heard

“You’re thinking about me too beside all of those boring things?” His head got closer to mine. “C’mon, be truthful for me.”

“Y-yes.” I answered him and I didn’t know why I just admitted it

“So, can we start what we should be like?” He asked a question that I didn’t get it at all and I was sure he knew that because he repeated his question one more time very clearly. “Will you be my girlfriend?”

I gasped. We just knew each other less than 24 hours and he asked me to be his girlfriend already. I just stunned there without saying anything. “I accept that as a yes.” Kris just made conclusion. His hand ran through my back and brought me getting closer to him. Another of his hand cupped my face and we could see each other’s face very clearly.

Out of the blue, a pair of his lips landed on mine. A soft kiss, it was warming my heart. He just made me feel like I was everything for him, I was melted in his hug and kiss. It was beautiful, the most precious moment in my whole life because only Kris who could make me feel I was worth it.

I pushed him slowly for catching a breath. “You won’t leave me, right?”

“I’m attached to you.” His smile was sincere.

It was our first time yet I felt like I’d known him for a century, for my whole life. It was like we were separated then, we met again right now. It was strange yet soothing my heart

“This is Jessica, my sister.” Krystal introduced her

“I’m Amber.”  I replied. I saw this Jessica woman, she seemed to watch me from head to toe with disgusted eyes, was there cockroach on my body or what? “Nice to see you.” I said again trying to be as nice as possible

“Yeah.” She replied me cynically, I hated that vibe, I hated that act. She was same with any other girl in my school

“Jess, she’s the smartest in our school.” Krystal praised me in front of her sister but Jessica seemed not interested about me. She grasped Krystal and Sulli’s hand leaving me behind to follow them

I never liked it, they completely ignored me. They didn’t know my existence right here or pretended not to know? When they finished shopping, they turned around to see me. “Here, our stuff.” Jessica took over the carton from Krystal and Sulli’s hands and gave them all to me. She used me. She made me bring their stuff but I was just trying to be cool with it

I just followed them getting out of the mall, they all called a cab for getting home. I handed over their stuff and Jessica asked Sulli and Krystal to go inside the taxi but not me. “Bye, stupid nerd.” Jessica narrowed her eyes and didn’t let me enter the car leaving me alone in front of the mall.

It was cold night, I was scared. I didn’t have money, I didn’t recognize the road. I was alone here.

“I hated them.” Suddenly, I mumbled. I was surprised and shocked. I knew I hated them but I never let those words come out from my mouth and no, Krystal and Sulli were my best friends, how could I hate them?

“Feeling scared?” A voice came from behind me, a hand attached on my hand. He turned me around to see his face clearly

“Kris?” I was confused why he was here. “Why are you here?”

“Because I know you’re here.” Kris replied me with sweet smile but his reply was confusing me

“How did you know?” I asked him in curios

“I said I’m attached to you. You’ve forgotten that?” He really made me way more confused than ever. He cupped my face and brought his face getting closer to mine, I was feeling uneasy about it because he did that in front of many people. “I’m always by your side.” Although those words calmed me a bit, but I thought he was strange and weird.

“I’ll take you home.”

Tomorrow morning, I knew people talked about me as usual but I caught something that made me feel betrayed. “That nerd brought all your stuff???”

Krystal and Sulli nodded at the corridor when many girls hit on them, I just watched them from distance. “HAHAHAHAHA!! And guess what my sister called her?” Krystal sounded vigorous talking about me

“What?” The girls was curious about it

“STUPID NERD!” Krystal shouted out loud, the girls could catch it clearly even my ears could catch it. The girls laughed out loud

“And and and Krystal, did you see her face when Jessica gave her our stuff to bring??” Sulli added the question and all of them watched that tall girl who acted cute every day in her life. “Like this.” She tried to imitate me. The gasp, the attitude, the pouted lips, the wide eyes were different from the reality

They were all same, I thought they were my best friends but no. I didn’t have friends, all of them without any exception disliked me, hated me. But why?

“They’re just jealous.” A hand wrapped my shoulder and a gentle voice came to my ear. I knew him, he was Kris. “Follow me.” He brought me with him as his hand was still wrapping my shoulders

We both walked towards them and that was it. Their eyes shot me with death glare. ‘’ ‘’ ‘’ ‘’. All those bad words, I could hear it when they all saw me with Kris and he made it become worse by kissing me in front of them all

They all gasped, I knew they all wanted to punch me, kick me, torture me. I wanted to run and go away but Kris held me very tightly and deepened his kiss on my lips.

He parted our kiss and made announcement for those girls. “She’s my girlfriend. Think twice if you all want to hurt her.”

 Just like that, he told them I was his girlfriend and I knew they all even hate me more than ever but Kris only smiled. He was very relax, why? Did he know everyone hate me?

He whispered me something, “Don’t worry. Soon, you’ll get your revenge on them.”
