In a fine morning in San Francisco

A young woman sat in her office, drinking her favorite mocha latte. She sighed while looking out of window. It’s snowing outside. She remembered vividly what happened in winter 4 years ago.

How are you doing up there?

I hope you happy seeing we’re doing fine now.

She glanced at envelope on her table and pulled out the letters inside it to read its content for zillionth time.

Congratulation, Ms Krystal Jung for being promoted as head designer in South Korea’s branch office.

The letter also stated the she need to report to her new workplace next week. She sighed for second time. I wonder this is the right choice for both of us. Krystal, just thinking you’re doing this for her.

Krystal would never dream to move out from her hometown even to her original home country, South Korea. Furthermore, she was born and raised in San Francisco. She only had been to South Korea twice. First trip was to attend her grandmother funeral and second was to visit her bestfriend. Her late bestfriend.

At first when she was offered this position last summer, she was reluctant to accept the offer but her boss kept persuading her to accept it.

“Our South Korea’s branch needs someone like you to work for them. This opportunity only come once in lifetime, my dear,” her boss, Ms Hayley’s words still kept fresh in her mind.

Only the day after the first snow fall, she finally decided to accept the offer. Her family was worried at first to let her move away to Korea. When she explained her real intention, her parents finally able to let her and respect her decision.

“Mum, Dad and sis, I’m doing this for my own good and her. She needs to know the truth after all. This is her last wish that I need to fulfill.”

And then, a small girl aged around 4 years old, walked into the living room where four of them seated.

“Mummy, are we gonna move to South Korea soon?”

Krystal pulled her into embrace. “Yes darling, we gonna move next week.”

“I’m not gonna see grandma and grandpa anymore?” asked her sadly looking right into Krystal’s eyes.

She smiled apologetically. “Of course we will see them again when we come back during vacation. Come on darling. Sleep with mummy tonight.”

After receiving goodnight hugs and kisses from her grandparents and auntie Sica, Krystal lifted her up and brought her upstairs to their room.

“Krystal loves Hazel so much, don’t she?” Mrs Jung turned her side to her husband after hearing his question.

“Yes, I hope this is the right decision for her,” said Krystal older sister, Jessica who was sitting next to her mother.
